Stage 4 - Mont Faron
Today it's the deciding stage with the finish up to Mont Faron. It will most likely decide the winner of the GC. Our goal is to take Pozzato and Nibali there in the best shape possible.
Ghisalberthi makes a race of it with 22km left. Liquigas is moving to the front waiting for the climb.
Carrara is in a small group chasing Ghisalberthi. The peleton is a bit behind, Liquigas is doing everything they can to keep the gap close.
Ghisalberthi is looking very goos with 1,8 km left. Carrara and his group is still chasing. While in the peleton Pozzato is about to crack and Nibali is having some problems as well. Not a strong day for us.
He wins big and takes the GC easy as well.
Carrara arrives to late.....Nibali is even further behind. We lost a lot of time today.

Stage 5
A lonely breakaway rider today, he stays away for a long time, but in the end he is just empty of power. It's going to be a sprint again. The fight is between Milram and all others.
It's Petacchi showing himself for the first time in this race. Pozzato does another decent sprint, but he still has a bit to top form.

Stage 6
The break will win today, that's certain with 43km left. Now the question is, who will win?
Arroyo is the strongest rider as expected. He got away on the 2nd last climb without problems, the only thing stopping him now is a fall.
But he doesn't fall, a great solo win for Arroyo. The peleton arrives together and the GC stays the same. Ghisalberti wins!

Leaders:
Filippo Pozzato
Danilo Di Luca
Our goal is to keep the group together for the sprint as we think that Pozzato is the strongest sprinter. We also hope that Di Luca will show some form, this is his first race of the season.
A lonely breakaway rider in a one day race, I think you can guess what happens
Yes, he is caught. Closing in on the top of the last climb we have a belgian rider in the lead
Pozzato and Di Luca managed to close the lead before the decent. 23 riders will decide the race, so far it's working great
Disaster strikes, Marzoli on an attack, Valjavec follows
Valjavec in the lead with 2,8km left, this is going to be close. You can see Marzoli and also the peleton in the background
Marzoli wins it for Tinkoff!!.......a very nice win
Pozzato claims 2nd, still a good result, but can't help ffeling a bit disappointed.

nice 2nd and 8th placings by Pipo and Di Luca, obviously dissapointing that Marzoli won, but a Tinkoff attack had to work sometime
also good news with Di Luca, obviously getting into some form

Well, first of all I'm kind of defensive in my way to play. Second, Pozzato had just taken a relay and wouldn't have had enough power to follow and Di Luca was one of the last in the bunch. he was not in good enough position |

Leaders:
Filippo Pozzato
Franco Pellizotti
The break is away, and it's a strong one. We didn't manage to get one in it.
The break is going to hold all the way, and it's 5 riders fighting for the win. Jurco, Benitez, Sabido, passeron and Kryz.
They are going to sprint for it. Behind Pozzato, Pellizotti and Moreni has attacked from the peleton, but it's to late.
It's Jurco that wins, not that surprising. He is the strongest sprinter in the break.
Moreni, Pozzato and Pellizotti arrives about a minute later

Upcoming
A decent finish on our early season. We haven't won anything yet and that's a bit disappointing, but it's now the serious races begins with the Pro Tour. The first two races is Paris-Nice(8 stages) and Tirreno-Adriatico(7 stages). We are looking forward to this, our riders has been training well. In P-N we are going to send Nibali and Pozzato that has been participating in the most races these far to prepare themselves. The goal is not to be on top form now, but they should get a few podium places on some stages at least, and maybe a top 15 in the GC. In T-A on the other hand, were a season goal is to win the race, and it's one of few italian ones, so we are going to do our best there. We will send Noé, Paolini and Pellizotti with Franco as our leader. The goal is to win and also take at least one stage and I'm confident in our changes. Even if riders like Ricco, Garzelli and Valverde will be there. |

Thanks everyone, nice to hear
Karl_rab@....scary that you would mention Ardila, but first Tirreno-Adriatico
Leaders:
Luca Paolini
Franco Pellizotti
Stage 1
Here is the break of the day, we sent Cataldo in it because we want to make sure that it's caught
We were setting up for the sprint when suddenly Paolini let me know that he was feeling great and I told him to attack. So with 4,8km left he gave everything.
He has a small lead when the sprint starts. Pellizotti has chosen the right train and is in a good position
Paolini takes it, an impressive finish and very nice to get our first win of the season in such an important race
