I like the idea Crommy but maybe less controversial questions. Of course you can just say I'm right.

Its the same with the first question. Its not 100% sure it was Henry the Black or Enrique of Malacca as his real name was.

It's a great story. The ruthless dictator who couldn't eat animals because he was too nice.
But it's simply not true. He had a passion for Bavarian sausages, game pie, and according to his chef, stuffed pigeon.
He did suffer from chronic flatulence, for which his doctors prescribed him with a vegetarian diet.
But he was most definitely not a vegetarian.
New question coming up.

A tricky one becuase there are so many, Inocenzo Manzeti, Antonio Muecci, Johann Philipp Reis, Elisha Gray, Alexander Graham Bell, and Thomas Edison are the people i can remember, please excuse spelling mistakes |

As Smoothie mentioned there are quite a few, but I think Muecci is the right answer |

It was Graham Bell what I know, but I suspected that it wasn't all true so I googled it. Found out that it could be someone else too, but I won't say who, of course. But smoothie got the other one

The only guy I can remember is Thomas Eddison. Can't remember what he invented but his name popped into my head.

I will still disagree with the hitler answer but on to the next question.
Alexandre Graham Bell has been credited with inventing the telephone and almost no one disputes it but for the sake of this quiz which is about the other theories it was Philipp Reis who invented a regional telephone.

the thread title reminds me of Bill Bailey on acid.

How. It's very well documented he wasn't a vegetarian. Everyone around him said he liked meat products, his chef (I'd think he'd know), staff, friends etc.
And the correct answer is Antonio Meucci. He couldn't afford a patent. He had sent his original sketches and working models to the lab at Western Union, and by an extraordinary coincidence, the models disappeared. Bell worked in the very same lab, and produced his telephone, patenting it soon after.
Next question coming up
