Mitsubishi isnt Estonian firm
It's still got a solid German influence... but when T-Mobile left Stapleton had to make the best move to get a top sponsor... and the dollars were probably a bit better in the US.
He's an American and he owns the team... and was looking for a US sponsor... so he moved their license from Germany to the US prior to this season. It will be interesting to see if the heavy German makeup of the team fades to that of other European countries, or if it continues.
This explain a lot.. What is my problem here. Some how I am german cycling fan (realy dont know a reason). German cycling was almost nothing before that team Stuttgart-Mercedes-Merckx-Puma was starting at 1990.
Lets hope that German big firms will get soon confidence and proudness back.. |

How is that team placed in the CT btw? They should really make up for a PT team next year with Sella and Pozzovivo. They have other decent riders aswell... |

Th Beveren 2000 rider Jan Bakelants (proberbly spelled wrong) is going to ride for Silence next year instead of Quickstep.

So, this is not necessarily a transfer issue like the others posted, but I don't believe this has really come up yet..where is Petacchi going? His ban is retroactive, and will be up by 31 August. I imagine, at this point, that he will still want to race.
I've heard Rock Racing is trying for him, and if that's truly the case, I will probably end up going postal inside a number of Rock & Rupublic stores in my general vicinity. Apparently LPR is also interested, which does not interest me in the slightest. I do not think he deserves to be lumped in with Di Luca/Spezialetti or their whole debacle. Feel free to discuss. |

According to De Telegraaf, Rabobank has tried to lure Cancellara away from CSC, but he denied their contract offer, even though he would have received an annual salary of 1.5 million €
Also, several riders are rumoured to Tinkoff. Robbie McEwen, who's tired of the team management at Silence. has said that he has received offers from several teams, but not Silence. It's said that the offer is very, very lucrative. The other riders are Filippo Pozzato and Denis Menchov.

I do want to know about this whole thing with Michael Ball, though, or even if it's serious. I hope not.

If the LPR manager (I forget his name)'s words are anything to go by, Petacchi waived his usual demands of Velo and Ongarato.
And from that piece of news, it looks like they want Lancaster.
Interesting.

Italian Stefano Garzelli, winner of the 2000 Giro d'Italia, has re-signed with Italian Professional Continental Team Acqua & Sapone through 2010.
Thanks to the latest results Garzelli had many requests to change teams, confirmed Cyclingnews. "I'm satisfied with the last two years," Garzelli noted. He won two stages in the Giro del Trentino and two in the Vuelta Asturias this season.
Problems at the beginning of this year threatened Garzelli's desire to continue racing. Despite winning two stages in the 2007 Giro d'Italia – in Bergamo and Lienz – Garzelli and the Acqua & Sapone team were not invited to the 2008 edition.
Garzelli believes there will be a place for his team in the 2009 edition. "We are faithful," he continued. He reckoned that Acqua & Sapone is as certain to race next year's Giro d'Italia as any other team.
There were offers from ProTour teams and some team even wanted him to sign him for this year's Vuelta a España. Garzelli, like before the start of this year's Giro d'Italia, decided not to jump ships.

Wow. Two years with LPR..
At least he's not going to Rock, but I wonder how much they will be able to support him at LPR. Admittedly, I don't know a whole lot about their team makeup, but it seems to be a two-headed monster of Di Luca and Salvodelli.
The trano is breaking up. If Lancaster and Sabatini both go their respective ways too, Milram will need to do some scrambling. They would need another young, fast sprinter..say, like Ciolek. Plus, he's German! It's perfect! |

They could go with Førster and/or Haussler as well if Gerolsteiner fails to get a new sponsor. |
