why do you guys get green grass on low graphics when I get black/brown/dark grass on higher settings? I want green grass too.
Maybe you have shadows turned off? Shadows turned off seems to make lightning dissapear, making all textures very dark. Atleast that's what happens for me. |

I would say that above all, it is very important that you update your drivers. That might fix (part of) your problem... |

its not abou fixing. games run a lot smoother in shaders v1.4 then in shaders v2.0
(its not a joke) its even so with the better graphical cards.
lathough with newest ones there is no difference

That might be because shaders v2.0 predictably requires a lot more processing power than v1.4.

what does the shaders do exactly?
Shaders is lightning. Shading is the act of calculating where the light is, where the light hits certain objects and where its supposed to cast shadows.

no, you don't need 2.0, you can use whatever you want. if it doesn't work for you, your card has a problem.
I use shaders 1.4 because I find them more realistic. 2.0 everything is very shiny. And we all know shirts and shorts don't shine in real life.

And since im whoring Crysis-like graphics in every game i play, i prefer 2.0.
But 1.x is not broken. My game was set to use 1.0 by standard. Its your system thats broken Stjin.

Crysis-like graphics? holy exaggeration Batman. The FPS are absolutely fine with 2.0 on my machine. I use 1.4 because the only (that means THE ONLY, unique difference) between 1.4 and 2.0 is that in 2.0 the riders are abnormally shiny. I don't know about you, but I don't see the riders sparkling when I watch a cycling race.

So how do I use 1.4 instead of 2.0? (I don't like the shiny shirts either!) |

I did look at that file a couple of days ago. Which setting do I change - VSProfile or PSProfile? Or Both? |

0_0 doesn't exist. maybe on a windows 95
ive made a post : white road , no cyclist....
there is a link in there to put with GraphicConfig where the shaders are 1_0
just make a back-up of the original file first, then overwrite it
