Moving - 13th December 2008 They say there are few moments in life that mould you into who you’re supposed to be as a person. For me, one of those moments was when I found out we were moving from Takaka to Nelson. My mum had split with my dad and Jack had suggested that we move to Nelson.
“Moving will be fun Darcy!” Jack continued to say…
I just couldn’t see how it would be fun. I had to leave everything I had and start over. I was excited about my new bike and the chance I had to train with Coach Brian at Nelson Cycling Club, but I just couldn’t understand why we had to move at the time.
Nevertheless, moving day came and we were out of the house by the 15th of December and in the new house in Nelson. I didn’t understand for so long, I wish I could have understood why we had moved sooner…

@Sutty68 - I wouldn't say a surprise, more of a realisation...But that is still a few episodes away!
@ALL - Sorry I have been absent from this story everyone! Been busy with getting MG ready and uni and all that but I am back!! I have some episodes written and ready to go and will continue to write! There will be now post schedule as of yet, I will just post whenever I find the time but the story will continue!!
Dark Times – 13th January 2009 It has been a month since the move. Nelson is nice but it is not home. I miss Takaka and all my friends. Mum has noticed I’ve been struggling. She keeps trying to find ways for me to enjoy myself more but nothings working for her. The only thing that keeps me going is cycling!
It has brought me way closer with Jack who always helps me out and takes me out riding and I’m actually getting really good! Maybe one day I will be able to ride for a real team like Jack does.
As I rode more and more I started to fall in love with cycling and I can tell that this is going to be what I do for a long time to come…
