uses this only as preparation race, he has been sick last week too so he knew the first days would be hard. He just needs to finish this race. Maybe if he feels better he'll test himself in one of the last stages, either the mountain TT or the final mountain stage. We'll see. I'm not expecting anything really.
everyone uses this race as preparation.
Dekker just sucks.
being sick does not give any reason to lose 15min.
if he would have lost 8 min or so, the being sick would have been credible. but come'on 15 min is quite a lot. anyway we'll see. maybe your right though, but i doubt it. i fear he's just out if shape.
anyway i say devolder will win today. he was superb yesterdayB)
prevent hangovers --> stay drunk
pozzato, basically the most stupid cyclist around

well people tend to overrate Thomas Dekker .. He hasn't done anything in the big races yet.. He had a good Paris-Nice or was it Tirreno-Adriatico?? and that's all.. However there aren't any big mountains in those stageraces .. So let's face it Thomas Dekker can't ride with the best on the big mountains .. Therefore he'll never win a Grand Tour.. He's just OVERRATED..
Todays win: I think Stijn Devolder will take it He was really good yesterday and it looks like he is in good shape .. |

can you blame him? Ashton's post is quite a bit off-touch with reality

i think he will grow into a top 5 challenger - im not so sure about a true overall contender - we'll wait and see
realistically his next stage race win should be something like the dauphine

no offence ruben, but again he has an excuse...ok I admit that i'm a fan of the "Dekker is overrated fanclub' but im almost certain that Gesink is way more of a talented climber than Thomas Dekker who imo doesnt have the mentality needed to win a GT (and yes I know he went to Italy to train there instead of here in Holland etc. etc. its just that when I hear or see him, thats the impression that I get from him)
Dwight K. Schrute: 'I'm not a hero. Im just a mere defender of the office. You know who is a hero? Hiro from Heroes. That's a hero. And Bono'.

I just can't wait to see how Andy does on the final climb. His form in Luxembourg indicated that he is far from his form and generally he only does well in the races he is targeting, so I don't expect him to do a Top 10 at all, but it could be fun to see him at the front again.
