I can admit not having played it enough to really appriciate it, still prefer splinter cell though, but its all a matter of taste |

Here's the deal:
Wii will most likely win this console generation (its the 7th generation in case you ask), despite from last generation. The PlayStation will also remain on the market because its a good machine for playing both BluRay discs as well as other media functions. And of course the games, which are graphically vastly superior to both the Wii and the Xbox 360.
Now, history has shown that there's only room for 2½ gaming consoles on the market. And from my previous statement, we already have two now. Another historical thing thats against the Xbox 360 is that it jumped the gun. Had it been held in the engineering bay for another 4 months, they could have fixed the RRoD issues as well as giving it a built in HD-DVD player. The previous console that jumped the gun by 4 months was the Sega Saturn. And we all know how well the Saturn fared...
Conclusion: Get a PS3, i dont care how biased i sound. Just get one

The 360 has a better multiplayer system, despite CrueTrue's rambling, but I don't think you will be dissapointed with a PS3, but then again, you still have to pay a lot more for a PS3 |

That was the question I was going to ask.
As said, I think it's a myth, based on the PS2. I'm not saying the Xbox multiplayer system is bad - it's excellent - but the only real difference between PS3 and Xbox is that there's more content available for download on Xbox' official page than on PS3's official page - and that can be explained by the fact that XBox has been on the marker for a longer time than PS3. |

That's wrong I'm afraid
Xbox live is £40 a year, the Xbox itself is around £180. Lets assume you have your Xbox for a minimum of 2 years (most likely will be around 4 years) The Xbox will have made you spend around £280 in 2 years due to online play and if you want to change your gamertag and any things from the XboxStore and I bought my PS3 for that much.
All that is minus any games at all.
Basically over time the Xbox is actually the more expensive choice.

Do you get a lifetime contract with ps3, or is it until they decide they want to start charging?

xbox has better servers then ps3

I haven't experienced any lag at all in GTA IV, although it's a very, very demanding game.
Also, I'd be surprised if Sony didn't decide to charge money at some point. If Microsoft can, they can too. But for the moment, that hasn't happened. |
