We received some criticism of our decision to send a very strong squad to San Luis rather then to the Australian PT opener so our young leader for the race, Van Avermaet has been telling everyone how determined he is to put in a strong performance and prove the critics wrong. We also bring a strong team for the GC, the likes of Van Huffel, Bileka and Brandt could all potentially do very well overall.
The break was brought back easily with plenty of racing left and so we had plenty of time to set up for the sprint with Van Avermaet taking Bileka's wheel.
They were struggling to get a good position amongst the other trains though so Van Avermaet moved across to take a Team High Road riders wheel.
He sprinted strongly, the slightly uphill finish suiting him well enough for him to move up through the field and claim third place.
Results
Haselbacher took another early season victory, he must be in great form.

It was time to see whether the sprint team we brought here could perform as well as it should. The peloton caught the break with 30km to go and we decided to try out two trains for the sprint, one fore McEwen one for Gardeyn.
Perhaps we were too greedy however, and we won't try the same thing next time - the best we could manage was 4th from McEwen as Borrajo took a strong win.
Results
We would have liked to win this one but 3 riders in the top ten isnt something to complain about i guess.

This stage is one of those that will probably be harder then it looks and this should suit our team of mostly climbers, and also Van Avermaet who can stick it over the hills.
Greg was looking smart in all white today as highest placed rider under 25
the peloton controlled the break easily and swallowed it up with quite a lot of racing to go.
as the sprint began to wind up there was a fall from one of the relayers, taking 17 others with him, 4 would withdraw from the race. Luckily our guys managed to avoid the chaos.
Van Huffel began to lead out Van Avermaet and immediately we attracted the attention of the other sprinters and ended up with quite a big train, this was a worry as without a proper lead out man it would mostly be up to Greg to outdo the others.
It turns out his legs weren't so great after the hills and Bouygues rider Fedrigo was able to take a sprint victory.
Results
Haselbacher still leads overall and Van Avermaet has lost his white jersey by one second.

A flat finish with quite a long uphill finish before it so it will be a challenge for Robbies early season legs to see whether he could make it to the end of the stage with the front runners.
A lone man broke away and although he got more then ten minutes the peloton pulled him back with little effort.
Bert told us over the radio that he was feeling good today so we gave him the go ahead to try take a win, he attacked and quickly got a 30 sec gap over the peloton.
With not long to go he still had a minute and he had settled into his strong time trialling style.
And he was unstoppable, beating the pack home by a comfortable 17 seconds for his second win this season already.
Results
Bert is of course in yellow, and with a TT and two flat stages to go should be able to keep it.
Robbie was right up there but didnt really want to kick today in case he helped the peloton to catch his team mate up front, he is however 3rd in the points competition.
Roelandts is still best young rider.

Our goal today is to get Van Avermaet on the podium and back into his nice white jersey.
We hadnt featured in a breakaway yet so when the race kicked off today Aussie Nick Gates attacked and got some media attention on his home turf.
The breakaway was easily taken care of though and we were furious in the team car to see Van Avermaet lose his place in the sprint train to a couple of more experienced guys. This put him in a poor position.
and it showed, he could only manage 8th behind Fedrigo who takes the stage and the leaders jersey.
Results
Van Avermaet still in 5th and still 1 second out of the white jersey.

A 11km TT which as rated is mountainous, we are hoping Roesems can hang onto his lead or if he can't that it will be tjallingii who takes it.
Roesems did better then Tjallingii however, coming in with the second fastest time and holding onto his lead.
The Squad is feeling pretty good and i'm sure the board will be happy about a second GC win this soon into the season.

Greg seemed particularly determined when i had a chat to him this morning so we are quietly confident of a good result after a bit of a disappointment yesterday.
As the sprinters sorted themselves out Van Avermaet found himself in a much better position, behind to Milram riders an Haselbacher.
He hang onto the Austrians wheel and moved into second place with Fedrigo coming up fast on the right, could he take a great win?
He tried to come around Haselbacher but he didnt have the legs yet and was narrowly beaten on the line by Fedrigo for second place.
Results
Van Avermaet is back in white after his podium bonus seconds and has moved into 3rd place overall! he now has 2 PT points

It was difficult to decide who would ride on the front today as the other teams had left it up to us to bring back the 10+ min break and we wanted to conserve our sprinters for the train. Tjallingii did some work but it was Roy Sentjens who put his hand up to drag the pack over the flat.
He managed to bring the break back almost single handedly and we set up a strong train of Roesem > Roelandts > McEwen, we would have liked to have Gardeyn lead out Robbie but all the other sprinters jumped on him so he was on his own. we looked to have the sprint all but covered when suddenly the other trains appeared out of no where.
the train on the left was strong and pulled away as Roelandts lead out McEwen.
Robbie jumped well though, and with still pretty poor form was able to take a very narrow third place and his first of hopefully many podiums for the season.
Results:
(well there are none because stupid Grabber 2k ruined all 3 of the screenshots i took of them :x )
but Robbie was third and Roesems still lead, Serpa won the stage and leads the points classification.

Maybe you could try using someone elses train instead of relying on your own team? I find that using another train can often be more successful.
