Funny how there's no mention of the fact that you'll need "Deep Blue" to run the damn game. As I mention in the comments. Mixed feelings based on the screen shots. They've gone out of their way in detailing by incorporating brake cables, 3D wheels ( thanks Miya) and better frames, but look at the helmet????What is that.. A mailbox. An airconditioner???
I hate the look of the shoes. That needs some serious remodelling. They look more like tennis shoes. No second bidon. You think by now given what Miya could do in a matter of weeks, they'd be able to model simple bottle cages. The texturing for the jerseys and shorts still lacks appeal. It still has that painted on effect. Ive recently looked a Madden 08 , NHL O8 and NBA. All have flowing uniforms. Its all done from Motion Capture. Cyanide still have miles to go in this regard.
Scenery looks good. Remains to be seen, if they put some more authenticity into some of the major cities. Riding on a barron road then suddenly your on the Champs Elysee. Hopefully they've added some more detail in this version. It would have been good for them to have released these shots a while ago. Have an open forum, where opinions can be shared. Then they can take notes on what's suggested and still they have development time to change things that arent popular.
A screen shot of the interface, Training camps, some detailed race shots, some scenery, the veledromes. A few brief notes that can be shared. We have 1 or 2 days to give them practical ideas based on their release notes and then they have 2 - 3 months to draft changes. Or we have a spokes person on behalf of the Community, armed with questions and comments based on what information was supplied. Makes more sense to me than being secretive up to the launch date, then we all find that nothing they promised has eventuated. Or its just a "poor" version. Do all of this after the round of BETA testing. Intergrate the comments of the BETA testers so we can all read how well the game plays. There's more accountability this way. You just get the feeling that Cyanide is full of developers that arent cyclists. To look at what they release each year, you have to know this is true. |

I agree fully there roadie, i'd be interested to know how other game developers can create games far more advanced with better graphics, and yet cyanide still hangs back. Full of developers that aren't cyclists, yep, defo, and run by a management that just want's quick, fast, bucks.

Also i agree, i also hate the helmet they need to model it much better, instead of having black parts actually be able to see onto the head. Anothing im impressed about though is the hubs on the wheels. They look different which is a start! |

Well, it may look good on the screen, but it's never going to look like that on my computer anyway |

lol my pc wont even run this game with so much detail
forests - forget it, i have to set it to zero
audience - forget it, 1 or 2 at its highest
detail cyclists - the only thing i can run at 2 without problems
animations - 0 or 1, certainly not 2

Powerful videocards have really become affordable lately, I mean for 150-200 € (200-250 $) you can get something incredibly powerful compared to what you could get for that amount of money 1 or 2 years ago.
I didn't really try to run PCM 2008 now that I have a 8800 GTS 512 o/c , but I guess it should run quite smoothly with full details. |

Graphics Card have really come down in price recently. the main thing that you need to check is the motherboard. My mate brought a new card recently but could use it becuase the Motherboard couldnt do anything with it |

I've only tried track cycling as of now, and that runs pretty smootly. I'm pretty sure, though, that my entire computer will crash whenever I try playing "normal" races |

I've a question for ou CrueTrue, or for anyone else beta-testing. I don't think it's anything top secret, so I don't mind asking it in a public place.
What is the max resolution of this year's game for widescreen gaming ? Last year it was 1680x1050, but 1920x1200 seems to be standard for gaming widescreen nowadays, so did this evolve in PCM or did they stick to 1680x1050 ? |

Mine tops out at 1280x1024, buts thats my graphics cards limitation. I think it will be the same as last year allthough i have no proof at all.
