chavanel for me, even though he is not one of the big favorites..... but, he was 2 classes above the rest last week
(as an austrian) i hope a little bit for eisel.. someone remembers how o'grady looked last year before Roubaix? eisels results/racing reminds me a little bit of it
i think this will be a very aggressive race again; the dwars, E3 were won by a rider from the breakaway and yesterday it was a very long attack again

Can someone explain to me why Bäckstedt is in the poll?
I mean I'm swedish and all and I hope for a good result, but seriously, he can't climb...
anyway, I have a feeling that Ballan will take it |

mainly for the slipstream fans
and chavanel is in the poll through the form of "a french rider" as there are only 2 or 3 who are or were recently any good on the cobbles |

Karsten Kroon will win. He rides away on kapelmuur and only Hoste can follow. Then Kroon beats him in the sprint

I'm going to go with the conservative prediction and say that whoever is holding Hoste's wheel at the finish will be third.

I can't see Cancellara being beaten at the moment!
Can't rule out Gilbert or Ballan though.
Steegmans???

Cancellara is doubtful I think, it's not really his kind of race... |

samtheman needs to come with a prediction I can second. That worked very well in Milan-Sanremo.
Anyhoo, I don't think Gilbert will win, he has always had problems coming through in the big races and I don't think that will change Sunday. Also he looked a bit worn in Brabantse Pijl compared to Chavanel, so I'm almost positive he won't win. Ballan has showed decent form here and there, but I think Cancellara will win it. And I disagree with alex saying it's not his kind of race. Milan-Sanremo wasn't either until he won it and Cancellara has improved a lot on those sharp hills, so he fits perfectly for De Ronde.
He will win it. Mark my words

Milano sanremo is much more a Cancellara race then Ronde van Vlaanderen. Less climbs, not as sharp climbs, better weather, more flat parts to attack on...he could get top 10 in the Ronde, he won't win it |

I think Boonen will be strong enough to hold on till the final rush and take his 3rd RvV. If we look at the past, we saw how Boonen dominated the entire Vlaamse pre-season with KBK, DDV and the E3, but then he simply couldn't climb well and his attack at the Muur was ridiculous. This year's the other way round and he was capable putting up with an attack by the Swiss train last Saturday, so... why not? |

I think Boonen or Ballan Ballan looks good and won it last year, and Boonens form seems to be going up and knows the parcours very well, Boonen also has the advantage that he can finnish it in the sprint if needed. Dont believe Cancellara will win it cause i think hes not explosive enough and his form curve is going down imo.
Hoste is always good in RVV but fell today in driedaagse de panne and is not really a winner, Gilbert also has a chance imo, but like Cancellara he doesnt ride driedaagse de panne and i think thats a disadvantage or at least not a sensible thing to do

I think Boonen will only just be strong enough to hold on on the muur and win the sprint. However, I hope someone will win because he's the strongest (not a sprinter who manages to hold on on cobbles and small climbes). |

I would like seeing Ballan winning, but for that he has to beat Boonen and Cancellara(the other two big favourites) |

I believe Ballan will double the score. It's a little quiet 'round him, so...
If not, I'd like Cancellara to finish first before Hoste, damning him to yet another 2nd place finish. He'll probably kill himself then. |
