What about Soler, he was thrown into the picture, but hasn't come-up since, do people think he is a fluke (yes, i know this debate already happened).
It wasn't a fluke - he was just the best chasing the mountain classification, which left out other climbers who were better when he did well

Whaggy boi commented on a previous comment by myself about Hamilton getting thru pain by doping. However i replied that wouldnt make a difference on pain tolerance, and even if it did, according to this forum every cyclist dopes so they'd all have the same advantage.

Soler, Andy Schleck, Gesink and...Chris Sörensen
If you want PURE Climbers, look in South America. The problem most of these riders have is that they're not good enough on the flat to compete in Europe. Most would get dropped in every flat or hilly stage
Oh, I forgot the first Kenyan TdF winner (in a few years) : Chris Froome

I'm very glad to hear that some people still believe in a clean sport I just got the overall image of those who post a lot that they don't have any trust in any rider that wins anything.

If by "believe in a clean sport" you mean "thinks one day everyone might be clean", then yes, I believe that incredible long shot migh one day happen.
If you mean "thinks most top riders are clean", you've got me all wrong. I'd like to believe that, but the evidence to the contrary is overwhelming.

I believe a bunch of riders who win are clean. just not the majority right now.

Clearly Candido Barbosa... He's the greatest... He's awesome... He's the Super-Man of cycling (Only the portuguese will understand this part of the post)
Seriously now, I really like Evans' climbing skills... He's not the best but he is one of the best, imo.

I was trying to make a joke about the fact that he sucks but stills manages to waste an entire team working for him and still finds the time to not be able to win the Volta a Portugal... You got to be Super-Man to be able to do that... He sucks... Big time... But he doesn't think so, to the point of claiming he is the 2nd best climber in Portugal...
He is an overrated prima donna...

Evolve??? I'd say God gave us eyes
@Isso: not quite dead yet
Back to topic: As I said earlier, there are loads of huge climbing talents in South America. Richard Ochoa f.e. coming second in the Vuelta a Venezuela with only 22 years is quite an achievement.

But honestly, where would people rank, generally, Tom Danielson on a list of best pure climbers?
