Stage 5
Classed as hilly but the long flat sections mean this stage will most likely stay together until the last two climbs in the last 10k.
as usual a break of 8 goes away and gets cought with 15k to go. On the first hill a number of riders attack but only Celom and Dekker manage to get a gap.
They still have the gap at the start of the last steep climb and manage to hold on to their advantage until the end with Celom winning the final sprint to take the win and the overall leaders jersey.
As for the Milram riders, Celestino, Astarloa and Grivko all finished in the peleton at 1.36 down while Zabel did well to hang on until the last climb when he dropped back into the next group to finish at about 2 and a half mins.
In the GC there were alot of changes at the top. The highest placed Milram rider is Celestino in 22 at 4 and a half mins down. Aim now is to get him into the top 20, maybe even 15.

Stage 2
Sorry, but i forgot to take a screen shot of the profile but you can see it on the results section. Todays stage had a couple of bumps but they were to far from the finish to have an impact on the result. Today would most likely turn out in a sprint finish.
The initial breakaway group was cought going up the Sharp climb at 142k's. Going up the hill two riders attacked but were easily cought meaning that the positioning for the sprint could start early on, a good thing for Milram.
My train went Velo, Ongarato, Sacchi, Petacchi with Bennati sat on his wheel.
As the sprint started, Pettachi and Benati got great starts and pulled away from the rest of the pack. Bennati began to pull around Petacchi but his superior strength and speed enabled him to hold on. All of a sudden Tom Boonen came out of nowhere and shot passed both of them!!!
Boonen maintained his speed and took the win with Petacchi second and Bennati third.
After a dissapointing few days in france and a disasterous first stage here in Italy, todays result was a great lift for the team. It also gives us our first two Pro-Tour points of the season and every point could count come the end of the season. We head into the hills now so the aim will be to get Petacchi through in as good a condition as possible to give him a chance of getting a win on the last day.

i know the names are all wrong but i can't be bothered to change them all so i just write them as they appear on the game. you get the jist
it doesn't really effect the pro-tour too much cause the only teams that aren't licensed are astana and unibet, aren't they? |

a bit late but i thought i'd add a screenshot of my squad so you can see what i'm working with.
as you can see, hills and mountains aren't going to be our strong point so we'll have to concentrate on flat stages in stage races and the flat classics to get our points. |

Stage 6
a rolling stage but with nothing too long or steep to seriously break up the peleton. a number of riders attacked early on and got a substancial gap on the peleton. Schleck went ahead alone and the rest of the riders split up into small groups of 1's and 2's.
as the peleton increased its speed the breakaway riders were slowly reeled in but Schleck still had 5 mins with just 40k to go. In the end Schleck was caught at the bottom of the last climb and the contenders for GC began attacking. Pozzato attacked first and got a gap. The next two to attack were Chavanel and Sanchez.
At this point i still had 5 riders in the main peleton and with Celestino having been protected all day he still had the strength to make an attack. He was joined by Celom, Halgand and Schumacher and together they got a nice gap on the bunch. On the final desent Pozzato kept his lead to take the stage.
Sanchez and Chavanel just managed to take 2nd and 3rd but they were caught on the line by Celestino's group. Celestino managed to take an excellent 4th place, just missing out on Pro-Tour points. Astarloa, Grivko, Zabel and Poitschke all managed to hang on and finished in the peleton.
in the GC Celom managed to hold onto his jersey but Pozzato is looking good going into the last two stages.

Tirreno-Adriatico
Stage 3
a few short, sharpe climbs at the end of todays stage mean that today could be very important in the final GC. Ghisalberti will be todays leader while Pettachi just aims to get through in as good a shape as possible for tomorrows more srinter friendly stage.
Pana, Fothen, Grillo and Fertonani breakaway early on and build a comanding lead.
They stay away until the the run up to the first climb at the end when Sastre and Hincapie make their move. They are caught easily but Hincpie is determined to get away and attacks again. He stays away over the first climb but is caught at the bottom of the second. The race stayed together going over the next two climbs and amazingly Pettachi, Sacchi and Cortinovis, as well as Ghisalberti, were still in the peleton with the rest of my squad in the next group about a min down.
On the final climb the front of the race blew apart. Boogerd, Bettini, Rebellin and Nocentini attacked and got a gap on the peleton.
Boogerd took the sprint and the 4 took 24 seconds over the next group of 3 riders who took 12 seconds over the next group on 12.
The peleton finished 1.05 down on Boogerd and still contained the 4 Milram riders.
A great ride by Pettachi to stay in the peleton on a tough stage.
A major shake up in the GC sees Bettini take the leaders jersey and the other 3 in the leading group go 2nd-4th. Things shouldn't change too much tomorrow as the stage is quite flat.

yeah, but with the problems i've had with the game i don't want to risk ruining it by installing a database. This is the first time i've ever got this far in a career!!! |

Stage 7
Todays stage was another hilly one, and with the big mountain finale tomorrow, might be the last chance for my team to achieve anything.
There was an early break of 8 riders including some dangerous names like Hoste, Bileka and Blaudzun.
They built up a hefty lead before they began to split up.
Back in the pack nobody seemed too interested in chasing down the breakaway and the gap continued to grow. Going through the last sprint point the gap to Hoste, Blaudzun and Bileka was still around 5 mins. This break was goin to last! On the final climb Schumacher and Moreau launched an attack. Celestino was looking in good shape with a rating of +3 so i sent him up the road too. He was joined by Pozzato and Celom and i thought that this would be a strong group able to make up the time On the two attackers up the road and the breakaway group.
However, this wasn't the case as Celestino simply proveed too strong for everyone in the final 15k. Pozzato and Celom were easily dropped and Celestino quickly joined Schumacher and Moreau. At this point the riders of the breakaway group were one by one running out of energy and Celestino's little group were quickly mopping them up.
With just 5k to go only Hoste, Bloudzun and Bileka were still ahead and it looked like they were going to take the win. On the line Bileka and Hoste simply bonked leaving Blaudzun to take a well deserved win.
Celestino outsprinted Schumacher and Moreau to take 4th, only just behind Bileka and missing out on the podium by a couple of seconds for the second day in a row. Another excellent ride by the Italian.
As i said tomorrows stage is a mountain one so i don't really expect too muh from my team. It will also have a major effect on the final GC. As for now Schumacher takes the Jersey and Celestino moves up to 16th at 4 mins. If only he hadn't missed the break on the 4th stage

Tirreno-Adriatico
Stage 4
Classed as hilly but with a flat run in i think this one will finish in a bunch sprint up the final climb of the day.
As expected a couple of groups go away and get some distance between themselves and the pack, but they are cought well before the end.
As expected the peleton is still together as they near the foot of the final steep climb. I try to move my team to the front but only Sacchi and Ghisalberti have the energy to get there. I decide to put Sacchi into the train at the front and when he gets to the front a couple of k's from the foot of the hill i send him on an attack. Why not?
He gets a small gap and starts the accent with a small lead. Obviously he won't make it to the line ahead so as the percentage starts to kick up i send Ghisalberti on the atack also.
This seems to shake the bunch into action and numerous riders begin to attack. The stongest at this point, like in yesterdays stage, seem to be Rebellin, Boogerd and Nocentini. However Pellizoti and Kirchen manage to stay with them.
On the line Rebellin proves to be the strongest to take the stage and the leaders jersey. The 5 leaders manage to get a 20 second advantage over the rest of the peleton which could prove crucial with tomorrows stage being a t and a mountain stage the day after.
As for Milram all but one of my riders managed to hand on in the peleton, a great result considering the riders i've got.
In the GC the highest ranked Milram rider is Pettachi in 22nd place. I doubt he'll still be there after the next two stages

Try racing with Auber 93
Some good results so far, keep it up. I think you'll stay in the Pro Tour easy. B)

thanks, and good luck with your quest for promotion.
to be honest i think i'll have enough points just through Pettachi, Zabel and Celestino picking up top 3's in tour races. I can't see teams like B. Telekom or AG2R picking up too many points. Plus with the Milan-San Remo coming up in a few days its a good chance for Pettachi to get us some early season points on the board.
Where do Milramj normally finish in other people games? |

I think in mine they finish between 14th and 8th place. Depends whether they win Milan San Remo or not (they usually do) and depends on a lot of other races, and what other teams field. Remember a win in the tour de france is like 10 PT points i think - seemed to be in my game (or was it 5...) either way its more than usual. Plus Zabel with that hill stat should be able to do well in tours like the Eneco etc. B) It's all about picking the right riders for the weaker pro-tour races to pinch the easy points.

Stage 8
Today is the final stage and the only mountain stage of the race. Looking at the terrain, hopefully it shouldn't be to steep to stop Celestino having another good day.
As expected a small group goes away but is caught well before the end. Supprisingly the race stays together until about halfway up the final climb when the action starts. 4 riders (Dekker, Gutierrez, Chavenal and Voeckler) make their move and get a small gap.
I send Celestino on the counter-attack but he just doesn't have the strength to get a gap on the peleton.
Celestino drops back into the peleton as Schumacher trys to get across the gap to hold onto his leaders jersey.
The peleton is simply moving too fast though and he is quickly swallowed up. The only other two riders to get away are Celem and Voigt.
At the top of the last climb Celem and Voigt have about 30 seconds ont the peleton nd the leading group of 4 have about a minute advatage over them.
Its going to be a race down the mountain to see who gets the win. Celestino is again looking strong in the final 15ks and i move him to the front of the peleton.
He rides flat out and like in the last two stages he is simply too strong for everyone else and rides away from the peleton.
The breakaway riders are still looking strong and they aren't going to be caught. Celem and Voigt ride strongly and catch the front four but can't get past them. In the sprint Chavenal proves to be the strongest and takes the win....
...while Celestino closes the gap on the breakaway down to 40 seconds to take 7th in another great stage for him.
The rest of the peleton come in at 1.09 down on the winner. The stage was a bit sweet and sour for me because while Celestino put in a great ride, Cofidis and B.Telecom picked up Pro-Tour points both in the stage results and the overall GC results.
Celestino finished 16th in the GC. f only he had a better tme trial and he'd got into that break on the 4th stage.
Tirreno-Adriatico
Stage 5
A tt stage, and because the result of it doesn't really matter to my team i didn't take any pictures. Here are the results and how it's affected the GC.

Just uploading the pictures from the last two stages of the Tirreno-Adriatico atm. Hopefully the story will be up tomorrow morning.
Unfortunately i've got two essays due in this week so i'll be in uni all day everyday all week so this may be the last update for a week or so. Suppose this is a good point to leave it just before my biggest goal of the season in the Milan-San Remo. |

Tirreno-Adriatico
Stage 6
Todays stage is the only mountain stage of the race with the two mountains coming in the second half of the race. Main aim today is to get Pettachi through the stage in one piece and in good form for tomorrow. However i may try to make a break on one of the mountains with Ghisalberti if he's looking strong enough.
As usual a break gets away but Gerolsteiner are controling the peleton and the lead never gets up to anything to worry about. Halfway up the second last climb the peleton is about a minute behind the remaining guys in the breakaway and the pace slows down a notch as they climb. I decide to take this opertunity to make my move and send Ghisalberti on the attack.
He is joined by 4 others from the peleton and they quickly join the breakaway of 3 to make a leading group of eight. Ghisalberti is clearly the most comfortable in this terrain and sets a quick pace at the front of the group. One by one the group splits until when Ghisalberti takes the KOM points at the top, the group is down to the 5 who attacked from the peleton.
At this point only Ghisalberti seems to want to work and with the peleton gaining ground on the long descent i he sits up and waits for the peleton. The last climb is a much steeper affair and will decide the winner of this stage. The first guy to make his move is Pellizotti who gets a good lead on the peleton.
A number of others also attack as the peleton starts to thin out on this steep gradient. However no-one can catch the Italian as he takes afine solo victory on the hardest stage of the race.
As for Pettachi, he was supported well all day by Velo and finished about 15 mins down on the winner.
A good win for Pelizotti but it doesn't affect the leaders jersey as Rebellin still holds a 45 second lead that now looks enough to ensure him victory after tomorrows flat sprinters stage.
