From London to Paris - .. and the winner is!
davidward
I agree about the 'form thingy'. Is there anything riding upon form of the day other than luck - i.e. does the rider's fitness and stat for recovery play a part as well?

CT i can see that valverde, sastre and vino attacked already after 2 km on Beille.. Where's realistic part? I believe I saw an artikel where cyanide wrote that the best mountainriders would stay in the peloton almost to the top? is that correct?

yes that might happen, but the difference this time may have been that there was quite a dangerous breakaway rider in front, so they had to attack

but obviously that is a guessWink

Good story so far CT ..
I'm really looking forward to this game. I'm gonna buy it for sure. Grin
The "form of the day thing" is good and much more realistic because IRL riders also have a bad day during the big tours i.e Di Luca on Monte Zoncolan this year in the Giro.

I like the fact that even the first number is innacurate towards what their form of the day is really like.

but Valverde attacking when he doesn't feel well? that's just disappointing AI...

Especially if they've tried to improve it. Really dissapointing. As I see it if you have bad legs one day you don't move onto the attack, you would just try to hang on or stay close to Vinokourov and Sastre. Not try to attack them.

My oppinion Wink

I think we're all saying we like the idea, but Cyanide have probably mucked it up...AGAIN!!! Angry

issoisso: I never found out how Valverde really felt, so he could have felt better than what I thought. But yes, it's likely that he had a bad day and it's weird that he attacked.

davidward: It does play a role, but since this is just a very small tour I'm sure their recovery is still fine. In career mode, this would have a much bigger impact.

Thomas: In other stages I have played no attacks happened before later on the mountain. But I understand your point.

Crommy: Relax. You have seen one stage..

Isnt that form thing just a guess. I thought they said it's not always right. Maybe you guys are just ott. The wait for the game is getting to your head Grin

CrueTrue
Karl_rab: No, it's not a guess. The first two are guesses (the arrows and the numbers with a non-coloured background), but the third indication (numbers with a coloured background) is the rider's actual form of the day.

Ok, thanks for that at least when i get the game i wont get muddled up Grin

Actually what I like about some people is that they are complaining about the work that Cyanide is doing but they still end up buying the game..
Think that people just like to whine sometimes about small things.

No game is perfect and every game has some bugs.

Back to topic.

@Crue True:

How is it in other mountain stages? I mean the riders who has bad legs (bad form of the day) do they try to attack or do they just try to hang on ??

And do you think the AI is improved? If you think so, how ?

And what was londan like were the cities you rode through ok, or were they totally on the wrong scale.

CrueTrue
Enqlebass: Can't say anything about that yet. I got the game yesterday and have only played two or three stages Wink

Karl_rab: I have never been to London Pfft

No i mean what the surroundings like. Is it spectacular or is it just bland?

my hope is that the AI reacts based on how the rider FEELS, just as you would.

hopefully, Valverde thought he was having a good day, but was then proved wrong.

the next few stages will probably prove that it's just an AI problem, though...

That's our right as a consumer Grin
Seriously, we don't complain that seriously, it's sort of like a running joke Grin

Well, they dont have a choice since this is the only cycling game on the market..
Cycling manager 07 is a game who could have been made in 2005.. så I undestand why they are a little bit disapointet...

In the old PCM's didn't you have to press a butten that made your rider go faster. Its come a long way.

Yes it's every year..but what to do I almost accept it..that you have to wait for first databases..to look like and play even better.
But still I am very much greatful for Cyanide who made my favorite game..first game what I can play years and years.
