I dont have enough time nor creativity Maybe Borat will be back at the end of the tour and give a recap of what every rider has done during the TDU (this will also be done during PT races but since this is the season opener it's an exception)

Tour Down Under, 6 Stages:
Stage 3, Stirling - Hahndorf:
This stage could cause some of the sprinters trouble because of the hills but still the main sprinters had no problem and neither did Haselbacher so a sprint it would be after Drancourt and Gerrans were caught...Drancourt would drop but apparently he was Bouygues leader as 3 teammates helped him in the back Haselbacher did well yesterday but today he wasn't placed that well...these guys would decide the winner today
Hushovd up front yet again with Robbie behind him while Zabel seems to be stuck behind Breschel!
Zabel was the certainly the strongest but again someone takes advantage of Thor and this time it's Robbie, Haselbacher ends 7th today
A victory in your own country is always nice right Robbie?
Result:
1. Robbie McEwen Predictor - Lotto 3h38'21
2. Thor Hushovd Credit Agricole s.t.

Stage 4, Strathalbyn - Yankalilla:
The stage seemed easier than yesterday but due to the hard pace it wasn't! Astana even co operated in maintaining this pace by letting Iglinski and Muravyev ride up front...this had an effect because with 20 kms this is what's left:
33 of the 88 riders have survived till now...in a flat stage
As you can see Haselbacher is still there...and so are the main sprinters and in 5 km before the end this caused a crack in the pack and because of that the top 14 came over the line with a 51 seconds advantage...who won?
'Ete' with his 3rd victory in front of Hushovd with his 4th podium spot
Result:
1. Erik Zabel Team Milram 3h57'00

Tour Down Under, 6 Stages:
Stage 5, Willunga - Willunga:
The toughest stage in this year's TDU, but many experts already said that Zabel would easily make it with the other topsprinters but a breakaway wanted to ruin that and since no one in the break was a direct threat it seems like the break is going to make it today. Astana is also in the break and they have the worst classified guy in the break but...he does have the KOM jersey
Left: Mazet sitting in the back saving some energy for later, Right: Mazet takes the KOM points and accelerates
But it seems like there is clearly some rivalry in the group as it are the 2 other Frenchies Robin and Dupont who work their asses off to get Mazet :x They succeed in this and the win seems impossible with Rapinski in the break
No Surprise, Rapinski takes the stage win as Zabel strengthens his lead in the back
Result:
1. Viktor Rapinski Navigators Insurance 3h39'47
2. Denis Robin Agritubel s.t.

25 Romain Feillu Agritubel s.t.
Stage 6, Adelaide City Circuit:
Everyone takes it easy in this last stage which, just as the first stage, goes trough the streets of Adelaide but it did feature a nasty fall 10 kms from the finish where Botcharov, Arreitunandia and many others fell to the ground. Botcharov gave up and Arreitunandia lost time so Haselbacher moved up from 8 to 6 --8) In the sprint Haselbacher lacks the class once again but the last stage does get a deserved winner
Thor Hushovd finally takes his stage

I had him in a break in stage 3, but he immediatly got caught and was so exhausted that he got dropped on the climb that followed because the pace was so high

Volta a Mallorca, 5 Stages:
Bazajev is the team sprinter while Rast holds leadership
Stage 1, Palma - Palma:
A small criterium which would mostlikely end in a mass sprint, however when the manager is gone for a cup of tea he is a bit shocked when he gets back as he sees a 9 man break upfront which is quite dangerous.
Left: Losada in front of Celestino trying to maintain the lead, Right: Ordowski out of the corner with Balciunas next to him!
Ordowski ain't that much of a sprinter so slowly the Lithuanian Balciunas rides away, Salgueiro comes close but not close enough and so we have a surprise winner in the 1st stage
Linas Balciunas takes the 1st stage and the lead in Mallorca
Result:
1. Linas Balciunas Agritubel 1h51'20
2. Enrique Salgueiro Karpin Galicia s.t.

24 Oscar Garcia Relax - GAM s.t.
25 David Herrero Karpin Galicia s.t.
Stage 2, Puerto D'Alcudia - Puerto D'Alcudia:
With Linas Balciunas in the lead his somewhat weak team had to control everything and maybe that means another opportunity for the escapees...this time Astana is represented
Benoit Joachim in the back, other notable names are Zaugg, Olson, Van Goolen and Perget
On the hill Joachim has slight problems and because of the high pace he doesn't manage to win any energy back...all of a sudden Perget rides away with Verdugo in his wheel....no one reacts
The 2 ride away as Joachim doesn't have the power to do anything...
But they aren't save yet as the young Santamorita still goes into the pursuit at a high speed, Perget and Verdugo are in a close fight but can the young guy from Italy overtake them?
No, a Basque victory as Gorka Verdugo wins and takes over the lead from Balciunas
Result:
1. Gorka Verdugo Euskaltel - Euskadi 3h44'13
2. Mathieu Perget Caisse d'Epargne s.t.
3. Ivan Santaromita Quick Step - Innergetic s.t.

Volta a Mallorca, 5 Stages:
Stage 3, Pollena - Pollena:
Another hilly stage and perhaps another break that makes it? A nice break gets away but with 40 kms to go there is only 1 person from the break left who tries it solo. This person is Koldo Gil and with 1 km he still leads but behind him the pace is very high...will he make it?
Left: Gil starts his solo effort, Right: Rast is up front trying to catch Gil along with the others favourites
But soon it appear that it is too little too late, Gil wins the stage but he only gains 19 secs so Verdugo should be able to keep the jersey...but Verdugo is behind this group and since Perget is in this group he takes over the lead.
Koldo Gil takes the win even though this is just a preparation race for him
Result:
1. Koldo Gil Saunier Duval - Prodir 4h09'02
2. Francisco Mancebo Relax - GAM + 19
3. Marco Pinotti T-Mobile Team s.t.
4. Thomas Dekker Rabobank s.t.
5. Grégory Rast Astana s.t.
6 Marcos Serrano Karpin Galicia s.t.
7 Andrea Tonti Quick Step - Innergetic s.t.

13 Manuele Mori Saunier Duval - Prodir s.t.
14 Luis Perez Rodriguez AndalucÃa - Cajasur s.t.
15 Sergio Paulinho Discovery Channel s.t.
16 Remmert Wielinga Saunier Duval - Prodir s.t.
17 Michael Boogerd Rabobank s.t.
18 Jorge Ferrio AndalucÃa - Cajasur s.t.

20 Daniel Moreno Relax - GAM s.t.
21 Juan Antonio Flecha Rabobank s.t.
22 Joost Posthuma Rabobank s.t.
23 José Adrian Bonilla Fuerteventura - Canarias s.t.
24 Eladio Jimenez Karpin Galicia s.t.
25 Vladimir Efimkin Caisse d'Epargne s.t
Stage 4, Soller - Soller:
Maybe the toughest stage in this race and Caisse D'Epargne makes sure that no break gets enough space. A break featuring both Redondo and Navarro fails on the last climb after it never got more than 4 mins. But just before the leading group reaches the top 3 riders break away from the pack, and since the descent leads the riders directly to the finish line it looks good for them, Wielinga, Pinotti and Marco Serrano are the 3 who make it to the finish with just over 1 min...but who takes the stage and the lead from Perget?
Left: The 3 aren't losing any time in the downhill section, Right: Another victory for SDV as Wielinga wins
Result:
1. Remmert Wielinga Saunier Duval - Prodir 3h50'30
2. Marcos Serrano Karpin Galicia s.t.
3. Marco Pinotti T-Mobile Team s.t.
4. Francisco Lara AndalucÃa - Cajasur + 1'02

14 Julian Sanchez Relax - GAM s.t.
15 Roman Kreuziger Liquigas s.t.
16 Oscar Garcia Relax - GAM s.t.

19 Santiago Perez Relax - GAM s.t.
20 Jan Hruska Relax - GAM s.t.
21 Ivan Santaromita Quick Step - Innergetic s.t.
22 Aliaksandr Kuschynski Liquigas s.t.
23 Serguey Yakovlev Astana s.t.
24 José Adrian Bonilla Fuerteventura - Canarias s.t.
25 Thomas Dekker Rabobank s.t.
Stage 5, Magalluff - Palmanova:
The final stage and it was Saunier's task to make sure that their leader Wielinga would remain the lead, in the first km Navarro attacks to get some boni seconds which moves him to spot nr 5, after this Navarro drops back and with 30 kms to go all the favourites seem to attack but only 3 really get away and with 10 kms they have a lead which could just be enough, but then one of them decides to do it on his own
Hubert Schwab in the back as Efimkin rides away with Santos Gonzales trying to follow him
Efimkin is not the worst descender and so he maintains his lead but it isn't enough to take over the jersey, in the back Gonzalez has some problems and so Schwab ends 2nd while Gonzalez ends 3rd just in front of Rast who wins the sprint of the pack.
Vlad Efimkin wins but Wielinga wins the Volta a Mallorca
Result:
1. Vladimir Efimkin Caisse d'Epargne 3h46'29
2. Hubert Schwab Quick Step - Innergetic + 47
3. Santos Gonzalez Karpin Galicia + 1'12
4. Grégory Rast Astana + 1'27
5. Alberto Fernandez Saunier Duval - Prodir s.t.
6 Guido Trentin Saunier Duval - Prodir s.t.
7 Daniel Navarro Astana s.t.

Trofeo Laigueglia
Again we don't have a real favourite, Kloden and Savoldelli are here to already warm up their legs a bit. Daniel Navarro is in the early break which only gets 4 mins. Behind the group Sella, Boogerd and Celestino attack, they catch up with the group and then get rid of everyone except for Navarro who manages to hang on for a few kms that is. The 3 make it but still have to fight it out in a sprint.
Left: Navarro certainly was the strongest of the early break, Right: Celestino leaves Sella and Boogerd behind
So it looks like Mirko Celestino will be the winner here today...but then he suddenly doesn't look that good anymore as Sella and Boogerd come back!
Well, Celestino seems to have oversetimated himself as Sella and Boogerd take him back!
So it's now down to 2 and in the end the veteran beats the young Italian
Will we see this image in April as well?

We go from Italy where the weather is beautiful to a place where the weather isn't that good...Belgium
Omloop Het Volk:
Cobbles aren't really Astana's thing and our leader Ivanov isn't even in good shape so a top 25 is my own personal goal here today After a while the group of favourites is there and it exists out of: Burghardt, Klier, Hoste, Sentjes, Boonen, Flecha and Nuyens
Someone in this group will win the Omloop Het Volk...
In this group Burghardt falls twice and is out of the competition for the win and so is Nuyens who suffers a puncture. Then 3 guys breakaway but with the presence of Boonen, Hoste and Klier don't want to work and so Flecha can come back with Hoste's teammate Sentjes in his wheel
Left: Hoste doesn't want to lose another sprint against Tom, Right: Hoste has a teammate but will it make a difference?
With 5 km's it looks like Hoste sacrifices himself for Sentjes who is the better sprinter as he lets go with 3 kms to go, in the sprint Boonen doesn't start so quickly but in the end he does what he is supposed to do. As for Astana's personal goal...the Astana's hold place 24 till 27 as Rast ends 24th, Muravyev 25th, Joachim 26th and Ivanov 27th --8)
Boonen takes the Omloop het Volk in front of Sentjes who was very strong today
Result:
1. Tom Boonen Quick Step - Innergetic 5h23'17
2. Roy Sentjens Predictor - Lotto s.t.
3. Andreas Klier T-Mobile Team s.t.
4. Juan Antonio Flecha Rabobank s.t.
5. Leif Hoste Predictor - Lotto + 49

Kuurne - Brussel - Kuurne
Astana's goal didn't differ from Omloop het Volk but today we would unfortunately fail as we ended just outside the top 30. But up front there was a nice fight and with 60 kms to go Predictor decided to try something which would surprise the favourites
The Predictor Xpress with Hoste, Zanini and Roesems
But this plan didn't work as they were caught 20 kms later, but with 21 kms to go a new group was formed with 4 guys of which 2 were from Predictor Lotto, Sentjes who already showed great form yesterday, was in that group together with Hoste, Klier and Flecha. Klier and Flecha were both paying attention to Hoste and this seems to be a big mistake!
Left: No double for Boonen as he is absent in the winning break, Right: No one watches Sentjes and he takes off!
Flecha can't react and Hoste doesn't want to react and so only Klier can threathen Sentjes' win but Klier has also given most of his energy and so Roy Sentjes wins KBK
Starting the race as an assistant for Hoste, Sentjes wins KBK and is certainly in the form of his life!
Result:
1. Roy Sentjens Predictor - Lotto 5h00'24
2. Andreas Klier T-Mobile Team s.t.
3. Leif Hoste Predictor - Lotto + 36
4. Juan Antonio Flecha Rabobank s.t.
5. Tom Boonen Quick Step - Innergetic + 1'01
6 Luca Paolini Liquigas s.t.

10 Leon Van Bon Rabobank s.t.
11 Frederic Guesdon Française des Jeux s.t.
12 Manuel Quinziato Liquigas s.t.
13 Björn Leukemans Predictor - Lotto s.t.
14 Roberto Petito Liquigas s.t.
15 Joost Posthuma Rabobank s.t.
16 Nick Nuyens Cofidis + 2'11
17 Frank Hoj Cofidis + 2'41

Nice work, can I get the roles that you have to give to your riders at the beginning? |

will post that later 4 you
But now somethin important, yesterday my dad told me that he will buy pcm2007 and this puts me in a situation where I also want to play it once he has it. But that doesnt mean that this story will stop now cos there is 1 thing I have never done and that is 'Riding all the 3 GT's' So before I will start playing pcm2007 I will sim all the other races and then report from the 3 GT's

Yes i just want him in break aways. He is way better than they rate him on this. Take the dauphine for example he was there 3rd or 4th best rider. |
