Paris - Nice turned out to be a huge project. To incorporate everything and to make the race look as authentic as possible was a lengthy process. I began shortly after the race was completed. Here are a few brief snap shots of the Prologue. The full release should be available within the next 24 hours as Im completing the last 2 stages. More photos and the download will be available in this time.
On a personal note I loath how Cyanide have laid out the finish line. It makes authenticity very difficult and restricts what you can do. They've boasted about all the new additions to the game. I trust in releases to come they will rework this completely. In the meantime, I will ensure that every representation is as close as is humanly possible, given the poor layout in which I have to work. Unfortunately, a lot of my new 3D additions didnt work out in PCM2007 testing and are missing from all the stages. I will test on PCM2006, if they are successful, I will release a PCM2006 Version later this week. Im expecting later on this year to do some major remodelling, so check back here and on my site www.vizlefx.com for new updates. I expect this may be the last major release until July/August as I will be absent from all forums for a few months. I expect to get back online in time for the 08 TDF and will promise one of the best releases so far.
Enjoy!

Another insight into what to expect when this race is released within the next day or so. Please ensure you read the "Instructions" included with this and many other packs as there have been some major modificiations to many of the games .nif files. More indepth snapshots and video will be posted on my site by the end of the week for those that wish to see a more visual preview of this race.
Towns have be remodelled. Many new inclusions. Finish lines have been depicted as close as possible to the real scenes.

Okay, these are the last 2 images of Paris-Nice 2008. If you wish to see more, please tune into my site www.vizlefx.com for more detailed pictures. Video previews of this race will also be available.
Enjoy!!!
Summit Climb to Mont Ventoux ( This is actually incorrect. The Ventoux stage finished in the valley alongside. There was no mountain top finish. I am using a modelled 2008 version from the Stages Forum. I may seek out an alternative that is closer and re-release this in a few months. So everything about the stage is exaggerated. The Monument location was estimated based on terrain photographs. The terrain around Mont Ventoux is quite desolate. I have included more trees for a more picturesque type finish. Apologise to French fans who may know this to be incorrect. Still the stage looks great to play. Second snap is of the finish line. New addition of functioning clock. There is a drop in file after the Prologue which is used for most of the race. This mode will suit Story Tellers.

Wow looks really great.
But the Arrivee-signs for the mountains are a bit wrong, I made those some weeks ago for myself:

You can use them if you want.

Thanks Cunego,
Actually I reviewed footage on video from Italian TV and all my signs are spot on. The ones pictures in these images, have long since been changed. However as I had no sprint signs, I'm happy to use your Eco Emballages sign and the ALDEN Summit Sign with a few changes. The Sprint doesnt have "SUMMIT" written on it. It was for climbs only. So I will change these. 1/2 of the ones in your pack dont work. You should check them before you send them out in future but otherwise I appreciate your input.

Here are a few shots of Paris - Roubaix 2008, completely modified. Included Miya's Velodrome and Mavic Support. Towns have been upgraded. No town looks the same. Barriers along the major stretches of cobbles as in the real event. Lots of new scenery included. Awaiting sponsor confirmation but this will be released on Sunday April 13th.

Hi all, Ive just reviewed photographs of Paris Roubaix and it seems I have ommitted quite a lot of detail in the first release. I have worked extensively on bringing this back up to par in the past 24 hours. New additions, Current sponsors, Cobble Sections, Distance Markers, Sponsor boards throughout the race. Updating Miyas Velodrome.
Version 2 will be available later today. Apr 21st.

This will be my last post before signing off for a few months. Here is the 2008 Version of Amstel Gold. All the race features are present. From Barriers, Advertising and Scenery to seasonal SPRING coloured trees from Start to Finish. Unfortunately, Cyanides finishlines arent anywhere near accurate, so we make do with what we have. I will definately improve the .nif models later this year. There should obviously be a grandstand opposite the finish, but as that is not the case, the finish has been completed on par. For the first time when a FINISH truck should actually be present CYA logic ensures its not.
On a personal note there will be no new work from VIZLEFX until late July/August. When I return you can expect some major undertakings plus closing up a lot of open projects from 2006. Type of things you can expect: Sponsorkits for the Major Tours, Customised wheel packages, new 3D Models, Team Cars, Jerseys, Accessories, Bikes, Scenery and much much more. But for now after 4 long years spent in the United States, I can finally rest up and relax for my journey home. I am enjoying an 8 day vacation in California before returning to Australia on May 1st!!! Will keep you all posted once Im situated in a few weeks. I can still be contacted through the "Contact" page on my site www.vizlefx.com if you have any issues.
Cheers to everyone at PCMDaily and thanks for all your support and encouragement throughout the past year. We will all make this a better game!!! but for now........Im OUT!!!!
Enjoy!

Thanks for the sentiment and well wishes. I almost disappeared without posting this final piece of detail. Ive had these images on a "Key drive" for a few weeks now and should have posted them a while back, but it slipped my mind with preparations for moving overseas. This is all in a lead up for when I return in a few months to complete this and many other tasks. I have spent a lot of time working on perfecting the Giro Sponsorkit, since I first released 1 in 2006. I have now worked out how to manipulate a lof of the .nif files and I can import more realism, which is encouraging. My long term goal is to rework every aspect of the finish, much as Miya has done. I have also worked on texturing and have improved a lot of the snowy areas. As was the case with Stage 16 from the 2007 Giro, a large portion was conducted through cold, wet, chilly snow filled mountains. I have formats which I can drop in should the 2008 Giro be run in similar conditions. From mild snow fall up to extreme. It will hopefully be the best layout for a major tour that I have undertaken. When its completed it will contain all the visual elements of the real event. Miyas 3D add-ons have been great, but Im hoping later this year to start developing a lot of my own. Particularly, focussing on Finish lines from all the major races, but also improving the look of major cities. I wouldve started producing a few sooner, but I've been holding out for PCM2008 to see what new formats they may have adopted and whether or not it has made some of my work redundant.
I have looked into the feasibility and testing of models for office blocks , towers, car parks ,railways, shipping and ports as many of the European races pass towns with these elements. Also many other structures which will help make the game look and feel more realistic..( I will ellaborate more about this in a few months.)
On a personal note, it's a shame to read through the "Stories" forums around the community, to see that nobody is really using these sponsorkits. In many cases it take a minute or two to incorporate this feature and I think it adds another dimension to racing, at least to maintain a look and feel, even if the mechanics of the sport are not there. Nonetheless, I will continue to do all the major races for at least another year.
Catch you all very soon!
Work in Progress Giro d'Italia 2008. Awaiting the completion of the race
to complete all the structural elements and the colour scheme used in this years race, but the basis is there.
Snow Snow Snow!!! As was with Stage 16 last year, here is a new layout with snow from the departing town right to the stage finish.
