i agree about the midfield, but i think defence has to be the priority, we a very close to getting Ustari, and Jorge Andrade has said 'my heart lies with Barcelona', so hopefully we should get him aswell
about Deco, him and Xavi have both been linked with Man U but i seriously doubt they will leave this summer
and yes the Summer transfer window is very confusing, with rumours being thrown around everywhere, most of them being completley wrong as well, but i like it, i find it exciting, just like cup final day (well not as good, but close)

Any news on Rijkaard. Mid way through the season, I heard he was getting sacked at the end of the season, regardless of whether he won Li Liga. Is this true?

i haven't heard anything, i have personally always liked him as a manager, i think he is one of the best (after Sir Alex, of course), but i haven't really like him as a person after the spitting incident
so, i can't say whether it is true or not because nothing has been mentioned recently |

what spitting incident?
considering you're not 40 years old, I doubt you mean THE spitting incident he's famous for (with Rudi Voller)

well i know i'm not 40 years old, but i do mean the Voller incident
i don't like him as a person, because i think it is horrible for somone to do that even though it was ages before i was born, when i saw the playbacks of it that is when i decided i didn't like him
but he is still a great manager and that was in the past |

I didn't see it live either, of course, I just thought you might mean something else.
since, he always has been the kind of guy to stirr up trouble, I thought he might've done it again...

he may well have done, but no i was talking about the Voller incident
final games in La Liga on Sunday should be exciting, but i get the distinct impression that the Barca players have given up

To be honest i don't think that Rijkaard is that great of a manager. I mean, if you look
al the 2005-2006 season when he still had Henk Ten Cate next to him as assistant
the team was playing much better then they ever played this season. So i have my doubts about Rijkaard. For me he's a good mental coach, has a way with working with his players, motivating them, .... but on the tactics side i don't give him much points.
So Rijkaard needs a strong technician next to him to be a succes and that was Henk ten
Cate.
But that said i still keep hoping that barca will take the title again this year.
And as the defensive side, Valdes has improved but is still not a real goalie for barca, but that problem is a long time problem, i mean, the last great goalie in barca is a long time ago. Thuram is a mistery for me, why they bought him i can't understand.
Marquez i like, he's not always that smart in his defensive actions, but most of the time he's pretty secure, so he can stay if it's up to me.
But i do agree that they have to work on the defence, ecspecially make it younger. |

i do agree that the loss of Henk Ten Cate was a big blow, but i think Johan Neeskens is a good replacement.
at about the midway point of the season i too had my doubts about Rijkaard, but i would be pleased if he would stay.
To be honest Valdes is one of my favourite players at Barca, but as people have mentioned he really isn't that good.
Big game tonight, i'm off round to my mates house to watch it on the big telly, all three games being showed at the same time it's gonna be really exciting tonight |

keeping everyone informed, the half-time scores are very interesting
Gimnastic 0 - Barcelona 3
Real Madrid 0 - Mallorca 1
looking good at the moment but it could all change |

yes pity they are another of my 'liked' teams; the scorers for Barca were Puyol, Messi, Ronaldinho
and for Mallorca: Varela
i knew this final day would be exciting but i didn't dream of the scores being as they are now at half-timeB)

if Madrid win it doesn't matter whether Barca win or not, Madrid will win the league
only if Barca get more points than Madrid tonight can they win, as it stands now they are getting more points than Madrid so if it stays the same, Barca will win the league (hope you understand) |

yes, yes, pretty clear.
couldn't they both lose the title? it would suit my preferences better...or should I say...my pet dislikes

if they both lose their games and Sevilla win against Villereal (currenlty 1-0 Villereal) then Sevilla win the title
but i don't see Gimnastic overturing a 4-0 deficit, against a rampaging Barca |

How ironic, I say its over when Beckham is subbed, and the guy who came on for him scores. He shouldve been sent off just now though (Reyes).
