Is there a wishlist to the (maybe) upcoming Tour de France game?

Idea: More focus on the young riders section in career mode

Explanation: In PCM 14 when you began a new career, you could choose between "young riders" and "free riders" in two different sections. In PCM 15 they are mixed up. I suggest they should seperate "young riders" and "free riders" again.

Why: That option made me love PCM so freaking much!

Idea: Automatic return to 1X in Multiplayer at 50 kms to the end

Explanation: No matter how the votes for game speed are, game should always return to normal speed for the end

Why: Players with bad teams (and no fair play) some teams vote together for higher speeds just to grind the coins. This is not only not fun for those aiming for a stage win, as it's a pretty mechanic, since if you are playing with 2 other guys and they vote 4X, there's nothing you can do to actually play the stage

Idea: Breakaway Communication
Explanation of idea: Judt something small, being able to shout at opposition riders who aren't sharing pace duties like AI does.
Why (No one word or some word posts): I just get annoyed when somebody sits on me I can't ask them to help, but AI can.

Idea: Gaining fatigue easier
Explanation of the idea: Riders getting more fatigue after a Grand tour or a lot of race days in a short time, and not being able to recover so fast from it.
Why: Realism. In PCM it's quite easy to win all 3 GT's in the same year which does not correspond with real life. Also it is annoying to see riders with 100+ race days being fresh as cucumbers.

Idea: Get instructions from the rest of the team in be a pro

Explanation of the idea: When you are in the peloton as a helper, you get instructions to help catching the breakaway for example. Or you get instructions to attack in the beginning of the stage. It should be that helping and following these instructions results in positive feedback from the team.

Why: I created a rider who will be a type like Tony Martin. When I am riding a course for sprinters for example, There is no feedback if I start to chase the breakaway or if the team wants to let them ride. In reality, the helpers should get some work done for the rest of the team unless you are a classifications specialist riding for the GC. Not helping your teammates should result in a worse relationship with the team and others maybe ignoring your commands (which should be implemented as well and suggested already)

Idea- Exp points based on your race performance.

Explanation- After a few seasons in be a pro I find myself caring less and less about the smaller races or ones that dont suit my rider. E.g. Why shouldnt I simulate Giro del Trentino as my prep for Giro d'Italia, whether I come first or last it has no effect on my riders progression.

I think experience points should also be awarded based on race performance and not just one time accomplishments and weekly development. This will give greater meaning to your tactical role, for example if I am selected as a support rider I have zero incentive to actually help my leader. But if i was rewarded for protecting him, grabbing bottles or riding on the front to bring back the breakaway I might actually fulfil that role within the team. This will also give climbers a reason to participate in flat stages where I would usually simulate because I have no chance of winning. Similarly give Exp to riders in a free role who make it into a breakaway, give Exp to sprinters if they get on the podium etc.

Stagger the points depending on the race level. Make every race worth riding. Give an exp boost if a member of the team does well, so you feel part of the team.

Why- Gives me incentive to always be active, even in stages that dont suit me. Also a more realistic rider development as I will be rewarded for being a domestique as most young riders are at some stage.

I think this could be used to determine how good your rider ends up. If you race smart and go for wins in races where you have a chance and in the others you ride for your team, thereby maximising your exp, you end up better instead of being selfish and riding alone for wins or just Simulating races that dont align with your rider.

Idea: Add a Loyalty rating to the rider stats

Explanation: Loyalty determines the probability of a rider to either follow his instructions, sign with his current team or support the user (in be a pro). The same should go with the user in be a pro. following orders will increase the rating, disobeying it will reduce it. loyal riders are more likely to be supported by others, sign contracts for less money and might be not so popular, while selfish riders can be more famous, earn more money and ride on their own. If you build yourself a high loyalty rating, teams with superstars might take you into consideration as support for their leader. You might also get higher offers from other team while your own team might submit a lower one. Also, big teams should look for loyal riders mainly.

Why: Obeying or disobeying orders has no effect in the game so far. I also see my own teammates attack many times on the final meters while next to me, despite being assigned as helpers. this should not happen.

Idea: A New filter in Armada

Explanation: A New filter in Armada which lets you sort the Rider by the number of cards you,have of them, so if you have Gallopin Twice and Contador once, Gallopin will be showed up before than Contador.

Why: People with lots of cards, like me, will get blind looking for repeated cards... With this New filter it will be much easier.

Idea: Change of ratio for the final climb of summit finish stages.
Explanation of idea: with 10/1 and the current level of the red bar making an acceleration is almost sure to crack your rider later on on the climb. By changing the ratio and also multiplying the red and yellow bars by the change in the ratio a rider should be able to make a couple of accelerations. Also weaker riders won't just fall behind on the very first kilometers of the climb.
Why: In real life we often see riders making numerous accelerations and still having something in the tank. Also this would allow a new behavior of the big guns who won't just attack from the bottom of the climb and some huge 2-3 minute differences between them which happen only very rarely in real life. Basically this will add realism to the game in the mountain top stages. I wouldn't mind if it took more time loading the stage but currently the mountain top stages aren't very amusing as they should be.

Idea: -Mountain Bike and track calendar should be included, to make a new experienced allowing riders like Stybar wining races in MB.
-More calendar in America such as Vuelta Colombia
-Olympic games should be included
-Different objectives not just for the season, for stages like being in the break
-While you are in Be a pro, you should be able to put a teammate in the break for a future attack you could do
-Pro Continental teams like Bretagne, Caja Rural, Bardiani... shouldn't be able to have an invitation to Tour Giro Vuelta just because their are from that country
The main improvement should be trying to have an invitation to Tour Giro Vuelta or any UCI races achieving objectives put by the organisation (To participate in Tour, you should be in the top 5 Continental ranking or wining X number of races)

Why: the game could be perfect with these changes, more realistic and the season in carrer mode would be different depending the country your team is ( Colombia should have the main objective of wining Vuelta Colombia) or if you dont have talented riders in track you can have the option of not playing them.

Well, including MTB and track might be a very difficult thing to implement, because they need to rebuild the game completely for that, would rather have them focus on other stuff.

More calendar is cool, but not Vuelta Colombia. Looking at the 2014 startlist Colombia would the the only team(or maybe with 1 other team) to be in that race with the current PCM teams. So they would have to add 15 teams to make it a normal race. And then those 15 teams would need other South American races to ride, causing Cyanide to have to create 15 teams and 40 races only to make Vuelta a Colombia playable Wink

Thing with Pro Conti team wildcards is that is does work like that in real life. Look at Giro and Tour wildcards this year, for example.

When the first guys reach the climb the whole pack is changed to a lower ratio and the riders who are more than 30 mins back are forced to withdraw for example. I want it so badly that I don't care if I have to wait another couple of minutes while the rest of the course(including flat parts remaining) is reloaded as a new stage with additional rider information. I will browse the net for 15 mins more whatever Wink

a few ideas that could increase the game a lot:

Idea: fix the cyclists role system for races
Explaination of idea: as a sprinter, you only get the team to work for you if you are in the top3, maybe top5 favourites for the race, but if you are the strongest rider you get selected for the leader role, and the guy that should be your lead out man is selectedd as the sprinter, and in this case since the lead out man isnt probably in the favourites for the day the team doesnt work for you to win the stage, only to defend the GC position.
Another example is that there is no dedicated KOM role or a "go in the breakaway for sponsor visibility" role
Why: in career mode this doesnt bring so many problems to your team, but it does confuses the AI controlled teams, wich can then generate comments on broken AI, when is he cyclist role system that interferes with the race AI. but in be a pro mode this is a must since you cant control your team mates, if you want more info on the subject i will explain more

Idea: new celebrations, movement mechanics to the riders and new race comments
Explaination of idea: probably have less keybindings to celebration, but have more diversified one, i can only percieve 3 types (both arms up, right arm higher then left, left arm higher then right), where is sagan jumping celebratio, contador pistol, and others.
diferent types of riding styles and atacks, like from that is always setead, contador always out of the saddle, cadel evens that climbed in the drops, voecler that does that weird dance and so much more.
even sprinting styles with cavendish head down sprint, dengenkolb that looks like he is hammering something, greipel i take a lot of space sprint
new comments this ones are outdated and over used, there is one in particulary that pisses me of, the fall comment it always say "the leader is on the ground", it should be more like "a team leader is on the ground". "The Leader" assumes the race leader.
Why: it gives a different vibe to the game and a more immersive and realistic expirience.

Idea: changes to be a pro rider evolution
Explaination of idea: maybe cut the evolution in half and then give some use to the money you earn to buy extra stats to place where you want instead of the full random points system we have now
Why: gives more control to the player in wich aspects you train yourself

Idea: use a stat for how easy/difficult it is to gain/loose position on the pack or in the sprint train
Explaination of idea: probablylink it to a mix between combativity and descent, since riders with good descent are more tehcnical and can get positions with less effort and combative riders are more likelly to hold a position by fighting for it
Why: in cycling its important to have a good positioning and there is always a big fight for the best places, so it would be more realistic

Idea: change buttons functions and add some more functions
Explaination of idea: maybe allow the follow button to always be up, and if you are following a team mate your team mate will automatically protect you as an secondary function.
the protect function should be allowed to more then 1 rider, some teams have 2 or 3 guys protecting the leadder and they surround him so no one can touch him.
allow to have a couple riders in rotation in the pack working while the others follow that group of 2 or 3 riders, like old USPosta used to race and now sky, even Astana back when they had contador and armstrong in the team, and so on.

add a work button to ask other to work while in the breakaway, they can tell you to work and help but you cant tell them? that is weird
Why: again more realism and more tactical aproach to both sprinting trains, and even the ability to create a mountain train.

Idea: new functions to be a pro mode
Explaination of idea: being able to discuss the role you will have in the team when discussing the contract, being able to discuss your objectives with the team, discussion of the team path to follow for the next years if you are one of the team leader
Why: more realism and more in depth aproach to this new mode

Idea: bring back the team sponsor talks from older pcm games where you could specify the type of team you wanted to have and the sponsors objectives would reflect that
Explaination of idea: and in this idea maybe add more objectives like being in the breakaway to give sponsor more TV tie wich would then reflect in a bigger budget and a bigger status to the sonsor if you sucesseded in giving him a certain amount of kms in a breakaway in the bigger races
Why: more realism and better use for time-trialists and combative type riders even some of the pavé specialists during a season

Idea: bring the TDF game mechanics to PCM timetrials
Explaination of idea: maybe use the TDF trajectory system applied to the timetrials, specially prologs. if you are not controling the rider you get the standard line, but if you are controling it you get to chose his trajectory to try and gain seconds over the oposition
Why: first of to make it more fun, i have to be honest, timetrials are the most boring part of the game. secondly it brings some more realism in to the game, after all the perfect line and braking less really makes a huge difference in timetrials and not only the rider stat in timetrials.

Idea: remove brands entirely from equipment
Explaination of idea: if they are not going to use real brand names why make different equipment at all with crazy brand names? just focus on having the 3D models look the part without the names on the equipment
Why: this wouldnt brake the agreements on equipment name and wouldnt make them pay for using real brand names and would make it easier for the modders to edit the files, just slap the right name on the equipment and its good to go.

more ideas may come as i play the game

Idea: More awards available on podium
Explanation of idea: First of all, have COMBINATION jersey for Vuelta. And introduce most combative rider- offline this could be decided by the AI based on how many attacks launched, how successful they were, etc... online, it could be voted for by all the participants(even if it's an AI rider).
Why: Well, it makes everything more realistic, and could even set an objective for smaller teams.
Disclaimer- Most of my posts are me thinking aloud. And most of what I think is rubbish.

Idea: for stage races - add the name of the riders next to you in classement to the race overview in the lower left.

Explanation: in the overview of the riders field showing distances, jerseys present in that group etc. should contain the names of the riders that are next to you in the classement. in career, the rider ahead of your best-placed rider and the next one behind your best-placed rider. in be a pro the rider ahead of you and the rider behind you.

Why: to check if you have to put effort into chasing a breakaway if a well-placed rider is in it. Or if you are in a breakaway or somehow ahead of your opponents and need just some seconds more to gain a position. The occassionally showing classement overview is shown not often enough and is easily missed as well.



Alternative: showing a virtual maillot jaune in that overview if leader position would switch might also be a nice idea.


@jesleyh: what is happening with all these suggestions? Are they forwarded to Cyanide entirely? Is someone reviewing them and then sends the best ideas?

I think, that you should be able to pick what stats you want to improve when you level up. That way you can get the rider you want. Now it's partly a bit of lottery whether or not you improve on the stats you intend to. I've had almost all my rider (no matter if they were sprinters or climbers) to get a stat raise in cobblestones, which to me is ridiculous. And there should be a lower amount of EXP earnt per week but then let you get EXP points for every sprint and mountain point you get in a race, for the finshing position of a race etc. That'll give you more incentive to not simulate as much. This combined with being a much bigger part of the teams sponsor goals and having the team manager giving you specific sponsor goals would make you want to race more races yourself rather than to simulate.

And for every level up you should be able to deduct stat points to use om some other stat. And this should be available on a larger scale the further you get in your career. This is to be able to change your rider to become another type of rider later on and to early on be able to regret certain decisions regarding stat points.

Furthermore I would very much like, if you could plan your form like you can in Career Mode. Then you can plan your whole season form. And added to that, you should maybe be able to negotiate this with your team manager as you as a team manager in Career Mode do with your riders.

On a last note you should also be given some kind of micro race goals like early on in your career making sure that you team doesn't run out of water, or that you should protect a rider for as long as possible, and then you would get EXP points according to how well you did.

These things would make wonders for my experience with PCM's Be A Pro.

Idea: Determine what type of cycling game, the game should move towards and stay on that path

Explanation of the idea: Atm it seems like they try 2 different approaches to the same game. Imho I think they should determine wether they want to improve the career mode part of the game, like the "football manager series" or the gameplay and realism in the race part of the game like in the "fifa series"

For sure, and I think they should go for improving the overall gameplay and how the attributes interact with the gameplay, its fine with a career mode like in fifa, but its not the part which drag players in to buying the product.
