Well, I still hope Tornado can win this one someday. If not, I bet on Óscar. |

What I did say was that the Tirreno's first two sprints showed that in terms of speed Petacchi has a clear advantage over Freire, but that Freire will suffer less on the climbs although Petacchi is one of the best sprinters on the climbs (being dropped when the group was down to only 30 in the mountains of the Giro last year), which is hardly surprising considering that until he was 26 he was a climber.
I also said that the fact that the sprint is no longer on the uphill Via Roma benefits anyone other than Freire and that it also benefits the sprinters because the flat part after the Poggio is longer.
Finally, I also said I'd love it if a certain attacker won.
Also, with the race being so long and hard, it's very much about who's having a good day.

I think that, if a groupe of around 5 riders attack on the poggio with riders as Cancellara, Ballan etc. they could have a good chance. Cancellara is in great form so. in a sprint it should be between Freire and Pettachi, and maybe Steegmans but I think he'll have to lead out Boonen |

I can't imagine Ballan and Cancellara attacking on the Poggio. There are other riders who are far stronger on that climb.
Gilbert and Ricco will of course try an attack... I'm also expecting something from Gerolsteiner, with Schumi, Wegmann and Rebellin they have 3 strong puncheurs with a decent sprint....
In a mass sprint Freire will be hard to beat I think... |

Just to be unconventional I'll go with José Rojas Gil for the win.

well, as I said before, that climbing is 100km from the line so the speed shouldn't be that high
Anyway, is anyone strong enough to attack on the flat after 293kms?
We'll see but there's still a while to go. it's over two weeks from now
There are a few riders who I think would be capable of doing this. Cancellara, Ignatiev, Voigt, Ballan...

Yes you remember correctly.
Ricco won't ride. He is still suffering from his fall at Tirreno-Adriatico. |

That would be exagerating (spelling) it. Look at the riders who've won the past many, man years .. pretty much all sprinters. Cancellara isn't a sprinter |
