Thanks a lot LLS, what an interesting look on the table!
Smowzy is the master of the projections, as we can see from both of CT and PCT. But he was also the one who put Metinvest slightly higher in projections, actually only Firefly put us behind our actual finish, only one spot back. That means we underperformd a bit, but not much, in the end places between 7-15th are probably the hardest to predict.

Fun read. AMEXpc was projected below our actual finish in every prediction. I am not sure if that means we got very lucky or if team synergy made AMEXpc a better team that the sum of their riders.
Since we scored most of our points on cobbles a look at our team suggests that depth may significantly improve ultimate success. AMEX has two top cobblers Eisel (2 wins) and Breschel (1 win) but they also had several additional riders who were capable of scoring points in HC and C1 races. Kump, Devolder, Bush, Kurth all provided the support/depth that allowed Eisel and Breschel to win.
Another difference between the PT and the PCT (not sure about CT) is that PCT cobble races end more often in sprint finishes due to the races being shorter and having fewer kilometers of cobbled terrain. Breschel and Eisel were two of the best cobble sprinters in the PCT.
One manager's observations.

Cool read seems we performed belwo expectations but I think it was a fair performances judging by our lack of depths really. No surprise to see Smowz top both rankinngs though the man know his MG |

Yeah the CT projection king title was hollow as I was well out with a number of predo's.
However PCT I majorly kicked butt (okay only QS correct but pretty good across the board barring Oz miracle and Repsol spawning Tour of America point busting).
This is great work though LLS - always nice to have my predo brilliance acknowledged Think you can do better take me on next year!

Look at all the people we managed to disappoint this season .
On paper we had the team to win every single mountainous stage race we entered, but the fact that we only won 2 is what made the difference between the predictions and the actual season. If Intxausti and Uran would have won a bit more we would have more points ourselves but Quickstep/Heineken would have also lost out on points from Brajkovic/Marquez. Same case to a lesser extent with Di Maggio and Ulissi.
Great work with the review, LLS!

Interesting stuff for PCT. Good to see I wasn't the worst at predicting, but I guess I could have done a lot better. Don't know what I was thinking in not putting Quickstep first. Gazelle and Magna also surprised me with their success. Smowz showed his in-depth mangame knowledge here with a good score.
I'd say we fell just on expectation in narrowly avoiding the drop. Hopefully we can improve on that sort of finish with a successful transfer season. |

Thanks LLS! Glad we overperformed and rewarded Smowz for the surprising amount of confidence he had in our team.
