Vaitkus in 8th is pretty good, but it's a shame Maciej went down (Or at least I assume he did).
Konovalovas safely in the peloton, but his chances on a decent GC are still pretty much non-existant.

Solid start for Swift in 3rd after a pretty poor sprint train.
Yes, Ulanowski was the Privatbank rider down.

So close from Pozatto, he's really hitting top shape now at the end. Too bad for Boonen, but that is cycling life.
Bewley looking strong early aswell, could lead into a nice battle for the overall

F*** off Bewley
I have to be happy to avoid those crashes though - at least one of the BooBewBastards has gone. Sad to see I guess Boonan in his last big run screwed by a bit of bad luck - this time no recovering.

Strong lead out, but with those hills I always felt riders like Swift, Bewley, Boonen (if he'd stayed upright), Pozzato, etc would have the edge on Guarnieri.
Roll on the flatter flat stages!

Having the perfect position behind Good Energy's great leadout only to not be able to follow the train, is just disappointing. I can only hope Sibilla and Breen aren't injured, as I hope especially Breen can get involved in a breakaway later on.
Congratulations to Roman! Pozzato also with a great start, will be interesting to see him on both the cobbles and hills if he decides to go for the GC. |

Good news that both Posthuma and Sinkeldam managed to stay on their bikes.

Unlucky for beagle!
All safe and on to the next stage! VdHH has to try something here while Vanspeybrouck/Cornu just have to try to hold on.

Bewley is so strong.
Really dissapointing to see Summerhill far out of a top 10/15 now. Hopefully he really goes for it on the cobbled stage and can get a good stage result.

Too bad to see Boonen going down, it really wasn't the best moment of the stage to see Sergent taking down Tommeke. I feel sorry for beagle, it would be really hard for my sprint train to get any close to Pokerstars guys.
And well, I really should bring here a lead-out man. Stybar really isn't the best man to do that job in PT and it was clear to see it. It is quite amazing to see Bewley still taking the stage and the lead in the GC even after this bad lead-out from Stybar. But on the other hand Sagan did a really decent job once again, but the win went to Sam just because he is a beast! Thank you all for all these nice congrats, this was a perfect start!
It will be interesting to see how my team will ride the stage 2 considering we will defend the leader's jersey. Hopefully it means Bewley will stay active and will go for another stage win.

There is some riders in this game that is pretty unbelivable. Bewley is in a the elite MG class no doubt, together with the likes of Trofimov

Horrible opener for my team. Congratz Roman to another win. Now I can be satisfied only if we unleash the hell in cobble stage. I doubt it happens though.

Could have been much worse. While it's not ideal to see Vanmarcke and Nooytens waiting for LLS, it's good that Boom wasn't. Really nice performance by him finishing 3rd.
Very well done. |

What a surprise, it turns out the AI is too crap to deal with having multiple leaders.

Trying to imagine what could have happen if Bewley or Boonen had shown more interest in countering those moves by Burghardt and Summerhill.. anyway, it was still a fun stage to follow (great write-up) with some interesting riders hanging on in the first group there. Nice to see Boom avoiding stupid drama, he can be real threat now, if he continues like that.
Nice win for soon disbanding Lotto, too

Schumacher survived the cobbles! It looked like he was dropped in that pic, but this is great. Prime position for a very good result.

Unfortunately.
Was really afraid of him and indeed he made it. Top favorite now imo. |
