Hi everybody! I believe I haven't introduced myself here. My name is Albert Llanet, and I have recently signed a contract with CCC, after spending last season at Movistar. I'm 19 years old. I was born in Andorra la Vella, the capital of Andorra. At the age of 5, my dad bought my first bike. When I turned 11, I participated in the National Championships, and I won! Yes, there are not many cyclists in Andorra, but still, at only 11!
Last year, after winning it for the 8th consecutive time, Team Movistar offered me my first pro contract. The first season was mainly trial and error, as I was struggling to get some results. The team and I decided it would be better for me to spend the next season at a lower level. Then, CCC showed interest in signing me. I was immediately flattered by their offer and I didn't need long to think about it.
So, here I am. This year I hope to show myself in the mountains and in my beatiful national jersey. Last year was about learning, this year it's the real beginning...
My name is Drago di Silvestro. I will be riding for CCC Polsat this year, after racing for Team Europcar last season.
I am 21 years old. I was born in Sanremo, which is very close to the CCC Headquarters in Savona. This was one of the reasons to sign a contract with the team, so I am able to live close to my family. The other reason to move to CCC was that they ride a lot of the Italian non-WT races. It would be amazing if the team would be able to get a Wildcard for the Giro d'Italia and Milano - Sanremo.
My best result last season for Team Europcar was a 9th place overall in the Driedaagse De Panne. For Italy I placed 6th in the WC u23 ITT.
My role at the team will be work for our sprinters, but I will get my own chances as well. I can't wait for the season to start.
I'm just gonna spoil it while I can, good to have you here Drago and I know for sure that Rebellin has some good advices on how to be a leader and knowing him you will do just great in time. We are currently looking into at applying for a wildcard for the Giro and it all depends on whether it will be worth it or if the recent signings feel like participating.
It's been an encouraging transfer season for CCC. I cannot wait to get going for 2014 , and it will be great to meet up with new personal, riders and staff alike. I hope I can continue my development and performance in the season ahead here.
I will be using this post as my "personal hub" where I can archive my season here as well as regular updates throughout the season.
I've said my hellos before, so at the moment I'm just raring to get racing.
