Very nice result for Alexis Gougeard. Unfortunately he isn't very strong in the timetrials, but not being completely horrible either, he might be able to get a top 30 or so GC result

Counting on an aggressive Stage 2 to see Dowsett into some handy time gains. The split on Stage 1 has probably helped a little but next stage is where it all counts.

Oz always has great TT men. Gretsch seems to find a way to get a good finish, hoping he has a good ride in the TT here.
Mehr-Winge seems happy to be on the AMEXpc team. They expect him to step up and do well in the 2nd half of the season. Rumors have been around the AMEX team for over a year now that they are working to gain a German sponsor. Some thought it was going to happen this season, but it did not.
The winds and a solid climb on stage 1 hurt AMEX's 3 sprinters as they were dropped. That split may in the long run help AMEX as two of Mehr-Wengie's competitors were also dropped. Right now the 4 best punchuers for stage 2 who were not dropped are;
Bobridge at +0'08
Dowset at +0'20
Kelderman at +0'20
and Mehr-Wengie at +0'20
Dieter knows he is the weakest TT of the punchuers so look for him to lay it all on the line in stage 2. Fabio Taborre, Matt Busche and Jan Dieteren are in support.
An ideal scenario would have Jan Dieteren in the breakaway and Mehr-Wenige making a late attack using Dieteren as a 2nd launch point.
We can all dream !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Decent first stage by Westra and Oss. Glad we were not dropped.

Agreed he's done some nice rides from breakaways this year, this is at least his 5th breakaway appearance so more then pleasing. |

That was a bit bizarre. Everyone dropped for us except Reus (phew!) and Sandakelum (eh?). |

Not sure how much online time I have this weekend. So decided to post the next stage. |

Decent points are waiting for us here as Konovalovas has a chance to do well in the GC from here. I would take a top 8 I guess...

Not bad but looks like we're racing for 5th at best here behind Bobridge, Craven, Westra and Dowsett. I'm a bit annoyed at Westra taking so much time with the same hill stat - and a lower fighter one - though.
Thanks for 2 reports in one day roturn. |

Nonono wait wtf Wilco what the hell makes you not being with Kangert etc. ffs...
Nope. Not good. Not bad, but definitely not good either. You can be with Craven but you choose to be behind Haavardsholm. Get your fucking shit together. Not in a HC race.

Great effort by Dowsett. 4th overall is still a nice result to take away from the race, and it justifies not sending Bibby here.
Nice to see a bit of luck for Boeing too!

So far so good! Bobridge with two impressive stages to take a nice lead in GC. Guess only a crash or puncture could destroy this race for him?! Koren sitting up as feared, at least he could add a Top-15 maybe.
Nice to see Lloyd grabbing the stage. Of course Bobo would have been great, but at least a former Ozzie took this

And that is double last years victories! Lloyd's second win of the year makes him the teams most winningist rider which is great payoff for him. And gaining 46" is still a great result considering his skills and how badly the previous day went. I hope he can maintain a Top10 position but i'll take any sort of points.

Great stage for us. Craven is looking good for 2nd, which is the best result we can hope for with Bobridge on the startlist. Nice to see Anuar Aziz and Haavardsholm top 15 as well, although they will drop down in the GC after the TT.

Very respectable ride from De Maar. 12th in GC is above expectations and considering this is our weakest line up its damn good. Barbin with another classy ride too. Good stuff alround.

Hategeka was a real upset. I really thought he'd be aggressive after losing so much time on GC - just like Lloyd. At least Niyonshuti was active, but unfortunately missed out on the KOM by 2 points (damn you Boeing!). There's only 1 KOM sprint left in the game, so a guy can dream, can't he?

Wow, Westra completely exceeded my expectations there! Very smart to attack before the top favourites. He wouldn't have the uphill speed to follow their attack, but this way he still got to join their group.
We'll be battling for the podium now.

Oz domination. Imagine Rogers would have had normal conditions and not one of the worst.
Also nice to see that those puncheurs, who attacked like Dowsett and Mehr-Wenige still have a good GC spot after the ITT.

Decent is good enough for me... If nothing happens Konovalovas will be 7th which will give me some valuable points in the fight against relegation.
Wondering what happened with Khalmuratov tho... He's not a great, not even decent, TT rider, but he should be able to do better than that. Yesterday was also quite bad for him...
