Le Tour de France 2014 - Stage 18 - Pau - Hautacam
Forever the Best
Majka is doing some weird tactics. He wants to win the KOTM but not goes on a break. If Nibali wins he wil take 50 and he will pass Majka with becoming 169.But if Majka would have went to the BOTD he can take 20 or 25 in Tourmalet and 4 pts. in the total of 2 3rd cat. climbs and would have secured the jersey. But now KOTM is Nibali's to lose

Majka is more than capable of finishing Top10 without going in the break.

I think Majka will attack on Tourmalet though.

If Nibali wins the stage Majka should take 21 or 22 pts. this means 3rd 4th or 5th I think so it is ooking like impossible with his efforts yesterday. He should have gone to the break should have passed the 2 3rd category climbs and Tourmalet in the lead then he should have secured the KOTM jersey

Majka just needs to follow Nibali so there is absolute no reason to go in a break.

Also if Nibali wins Majka just needs to get in 5th to be absolute sure and 6th if he wants to count on the last points doesnt go to Nibali.

Riis knows what hes doing, hes one of the best tactical DS ever IMO. 3 mins on Tourmalet is absolutely nothing and it still might go down so if Majka attacks on Tourmalet he got a good chance of coming 1st over.

Majka is more than capable of going toe to toe with Nibali, Peraud and Pinot. Remember, all the other GC-guys spend as much energy yesterday, so no difference there.

If the stage finishes:
1Nibali
2Peraud
3 or 4 Majka he wins the KOTM right?

Majka can be good but I cant see him closing a gap of almost 4 min on a 20 group alone Rolling Eyes

I believe he can, i have a feeling that most will save strength for the TT so it won't be a ultra hard climb

Imagine if a dutch fan picked up Coquard's radio and started trolling Voeckler Pfft

Yep everything below 6th and he is 100% sure of holding it until Paris

Well, considering that Astana is holding a leash on them, i highly doubt he has to catch them alone.

The point is i bet Astana wont be willing to catch them before start of Hautacam and someone said Majka is capable of attack at the Tourmalet and catch the Breakaway and take the ponits at the Top of Tourmalet. Didnt explain good myself.

Ahh, dont worry that break will destroy itself on Tourmalet, they will never get even close to Hautacam with 3½min.

The favorites will all be together for the last climb.

What's going on with all that Majka hyping? Boy was great on two stages and now he's supposed to outrid the Tour's best?

definitely look forward to see him beat all other GC contenders than Nibali, Peraud and maybe Pinot tomorrow. Grin

"Maybe Pinot"... yeah right Rolling Eyes

Riis123 wrote:

I highly doubt that. It's different to ride from the breakaway to victory than trying to keep up with the Tour's best.

C'mon, Majka just needs to follow Nibali? Because it's so easy to follow Nibali and it worked so great for the rest of the peloton so far. Rolling Eyes
