As for having the benefit of training indoors all year, I have to say, it doesnt give you that much of an advantage looking at a whole season.
It does not give you any advantage imo except that it is more comfortable. We mostly train outside but often use the possibility in the winter to prevent us from a cold or at heavy rain.
One could say that we are softies but if you have the possibility why not use it
First up, I know I havent posted in a while, but I have a valid reason for this: Dissertation and other college work!
Back to the running. Today we finally went on a track, which will be an interim home while our actual home is delayed (as expected)...
It felt great to run on a firm surface again, as well as working myself up to a nice winter workout.
The session was 3x250 followed by 3x150, off of 3 minute breaks each and 10 minutes between sets.
Absolutely disgusting session... I loved it.
Didnt hit my mark for the first and second 250 so I was told to run behind a 100m sprinter for the third one, just so I wont run the third one to quickly again. Aparently I was over eager
For the 150's I slowed down a little and kept hitting the mark of 20 seconds, nonetheless It ended up like a lactic speed endurance session. God I missed that feeling.
Or as I like to sum it up: It was a horrible, horrible session.... I LOVED IT!
Tomorrow Ill have to hit the gym for a max strength session. I'll tell you the road to Rio... well, the road to 49 seconds starts here!
(Also excuse the report... I am quite tired and over exited to be back so I can't really put everything into words... Also, it could be the dissertation that requires a lot of writing and concentration...)
