Team Colombia are looking for young talents to sign for the 2014 season, we currently have 6 spots on our team for young riders, and would be grateful for any interested riders to contact the team, as all applications will be listened to. We are particularly interested in signing a strong young sprinter, a stage race leader and a cobbled classic specialist to allow our team to compete on all terrain, we are willing to negotiate on any terms, so please if you are interested contact Team Manager Joe Armstrong.
Any rider that applies will need to provide us with their goals for the upcoming season, and any requests that they have for the team, for example, signing more certain riders to help them fit into the team, and to help them to win races.
Thanks
Joe Armstrong

Team Colombia is glad to announce that we have signed four riders for the 2014 season.
Our first signing is Gorka Nieve who is a young basque climbing talent, that specialises in going uphill quickly he will provide a great component for the team as he will light up the mountain stages of races with his attacking style, having spent a year at Orica he moves down to the continental level to find success in races and build upon his experience from one of the best teams in the world last year. Team Manager Joe Armstrong said Im very happy that we have signed Gorka as we saw his potential in the Tour of Austria where he put in a strong performance in the mountains to stay with some of the best climbers in the world for most of the race.

Team Colombia is still searching for a star sprinter for the team, any interested parties please contact the Team Management.
The team is also interested in signing another young Colombian climbing talent to strengthen our squad as we aim to perform strongly in the biggest races in the world.

The final signing for our team so far is Colombian stage racing talent Christian Muriel who is one of the best potentials that Colombia has to offer as he is able to climb but most importantly he is exceptional when it comes to a time trial, this makes him an obvious candidate for our team as we want to have strong Colombians to lead the Team and we believe that he will form a strong partnership in the mountains and we hope that with the correct influence he may become the first Colombian winner of the Tour De France and to have him on the team is a great honour for us. Joe Armstrong told L'Equipe I don't think anyone will be surprised that Christian has joined the team as we pride ourselves on being a Colombian team that has Colombian leaders and he fits this mode perfectly, I see him as the next Luis Herrera who he will work with as a Director Sportif so he will have a great staff around him who know how to ride agaimst the best riders in the cycling world, and I think that by this time next year Christian will be seen as one of the best riders in the world.

Both the Allans and Ghita will be removed from the DB at the end of the year so I wouldn't get too excited about them.
But Muriel is indeed a great signing, so well done there.

Due to unusual circumstances the transfers of Oreste Ghita and the Allan brothers have been cancelled.

because there is a difference between inactive riders and inactive people.

Well the managers were active they just didn't bother doing anything with their riders until they had to find a new team, although I don't agree they should be taken off the game as they have signed a deal so it would be unfair to their team.

No. Active would be posting race reports etc during the season. They are a main part of the roleplaying aspect of Epic, not a way to get more strong riders into the db.
Also it was made clear all the way that they would get removed. I can understand if you have missed it being new here and all, but that is the way the game was designed frrom the start. And a good thing if you ask me.

Exactly. The main aspect of EPIC is the roleplaying, either as a manager or a rider.

The third official signing for the team going into the 2014 season is Soren Berg who is a Danish time trial specialist who will form a key role by holding our team together on the flat stages of stage races as well as providing is with more riders to go into breakaways to make our sponsors happy, his signing also means that we will be able to compete in races against the watch as he is a strong time trialler and will drove the team forward in team time trials and provide us with stage winning potential in individual time trials. Manager Joe Armstrong said Soren is a key signing as we try to adapt to the European racing scene by bringing in riders that will allow is to compete in all types of races, and I think that Soren's signing Willkie the team stronger in terms of stag era on gas he will be able to help teach our pure climbers how to time trial so they can be more competitive.

Hi , My name is Søren Berg and I am 18 years old and I have just signed a contract with Team Columbia
I come from a town called Ballerup around the Danish capital of Copenhagen. I grew up in a quiet and simple quarter of the town, where every house looked a like, and to be frank I hated it. I was taught to use both knife and fork in each hand to tell it short, I had two annoying little brothers, which early became my responsibility.
In the school I was the nice kid, which knew more than anyone else, but didn't want to share it with the others, I did however have one best friend for a while, until he moved out west to the outer area of the country. But it is cycling you want to know about, and the story is also quite simple here.
My father had exclusive access to the shows in the new Ballerup Super Arena, which today is know worldwide for its 6 day race. It was here I saw the first glimpse of the talent of riders such as Bradley McGee and Chris Hoy under the 2002 World Championship and since that day I wanted to be a professional track cyclist.
At an age of 10 I participated in my first tournament and got a second place and my parents finally saw the great potential I had. So it ended up with my father being more excited about it than me, and I finally got a chance to travel the country for more tournaments. In these tournaments I came across several professional cyclists of today and I grew up among those who you may consider the best Danish Road Race Cyclists.
Me at the U19 ITT World Championship last year. Ponferrada, Castilla y León
Now one year ago I traveled to the United States of America and participated in several tournaments, and from that journey I got my first sponsors and thanks to that I have been invited to several regular Junior Tournaments and also my first World Cup. But since this is in the winter, where no one rides on the roads, I have always wanted to do what my idols did, when they wanted more, they went in to Road Races and now here I am with my first contract and I hope that I can give it 100 % here at Team Columbia.
That was just a little about myself, I hope that I will get good teammates to work with and all that I have seen so far gives me a good hope for the future. I will promise to the best to not disappoint and I see a bright future with good chances for achieving our goals
Soren

FDJ.fr would like to withdraw their riders from this series. We feel the extra racing would not be of benefit as they fight relegation.
