Wow, does the comments, forgets the update,
The Team
Through the rather suspicious actions of one Mr Hobbit, I have found a team.
And that team is...
FDJ!
It's a predominately French team, but I think I will fit in just fine. I have spoken to the manager, but they are very scary. Hopefully I will do well here and get lots of brilliant results
This is my 'rider data card'. It tells you everything about me apparently. I can't help feeling that maybe if the Hobbit forged the last few ones, maybe he is forging this one too. Surely I am not at good!
This is my season schedule graph. To be honest I think they should stick with either line graph or bar chart, the whole thing doesn't make much sense to me. Still, it looks like I will be riding lots of big races, hopefully I can do the evil manager proud. |

57.000/Month. This story cracks me up so much.

Then he'll just win L-B-L and we're done.

Good luck.
This just sounds too comic for a long and successful story. Prove me wrong, please.

Damn, I'll eat my words then. But I'm sure it'll only happen in an awkward, "no one know how that happened"-way .

@Shonak and Kubys: Hey, you've got to pay big money to attract the talent
@Admir: Yeah, well, I see no reason why a story which doesn't take itself too seriously can't be successful. You need somewhere to get away from the death and doping
Tour du Gabon
To start my season I travelled to Central Africa. Not really my cup of tea, but I enjoyed the ride. It was over my favourite terrain, with lots of steep and sharp hills. I was team leader, looking for a great result here.
It was my first pro race, but I didn't have much time to enjoy it. The pace was frighteningly quick very early on, mostly due to Belkin and Orica. I had trouble even staying at the front.
I did counter a few attacks, but they didn't work that well. I ended up losing the wheel most of the time.
My home for the first day was at the back of chasing groups, struggling to keep up. I was absolutely spent before we came to the line, and just about stopped myself from falling out the back. I came 19th, 2:35 behind the winner.
The next stage was flat, but after that I was right back in the thick if things, well, sort of...
I put in an attack, on the downhill... Away from the chasing group... Yeah, I feel great...
I caught another chasing group, and prepared for the run in towards the line.
I managed to come 8th. A top ten
I am now 8th in GC, 2:46 down on Siutsou
On the next day the pace was much slower, so I decided to attack, on the downhill, away from a group which wasn't going to win. I'm that good...
Unfortunately it wasn't meant to be, I never really got clear of the peleton.
I gave my all in the sprint, but it was only enough for 11th. I drop one place in the GC.
The flat stages were very boring, nothing much happened for the team.
As such, I finish my first race, the Tour of Gabon, in 9th!
My next stop will be France, for the GP de Marseillaise. |

Yay Delfi!
If he performs like he has in EPIC, he won't be winning L-B-L soon! |

I love this story!
Wonder if he can do better than he does at EPIC. At least his Gabon results come close.
@Yves
He chose these stats in the EPIC game and those stats made him fail time after time, even though his HI & STA stat made him a favourite before hand, theoretically

@General YAAY comments: Thanks
@EPIC DB: I am indeed using the EPIC DB, and trying to stick to a pretty similar schedule. I will when an EPIC rider does particularly well.
GP de Marseillaise
This hilly classic is almost built for a rider like me. Lots of hills, then a downhill finish. I'll definitely be making an attack on the climb. It's a nice French race, and one I see myself enjoying results at the future. Well, maybe a top 100...
Fast forward to the final climb and I'm making an attack.
Well, that's a lie, I'm following an attack.
Ok, I'm trying (and failing) to follow an attack, against riders much worse than myself. Welcome to the strange world of Cervero...
A few hundred metres later, and I was already out the back of that group.
This is going well.
On the descent, I was in a larger group, trying to hold on. Still, I was the only FDJ rider, so I must be doing something right...
The man whose attack. I couldn't follow, Lagutin, won.
I sprinted way too early as I was already at the front, and came in 12th.
That's not too bad for only my second race. Or at least I thought so. That was, at least, till I saw the look on my evil team manager's face. I suddenly became less happy. |
