As soon as a German puncheur does decent for once, he's omitted from the favourites list altogether...:
Geschke at least two-star, I would even say three.
He's decent, but Muur will not suit him.

Not surprising, Gescke is just not a rider that would do well in Fleche. Barguil might be decent bet for them Giant though.
Kwiatkowski is 25/1 on PaddyPower right now Take those odds before they go down!

I know Fleche is different than Amstel, and I am no absolute know-by-heart expert on who is suited better to what, but I was expecting a 1.70m puncheur guy to be more suited to the Mur than a 1.84m TT guy.
Nevertheless, surprising that he doesn't race at all.

Just don't get it. Just don't. Why would Geschke not ride this race. Even if it doesn't suit him as much as L-B-L or Amstel, it's not like he would lose something from participating or Giant has some super strong squad. |

Right.
Cauberg is steep, but still ridden quite fast, which favours power a little more over power per kg when compared to the Muur de Huy, which is basically a W/kg race.
Now there's also the effort length to take into consideration, Cauberg : ~1'30, Muur : 2'20 or something like that I believe. Not a huge difference in absolutes, but that makes Huy a 55% longer effort. |

He would lose one thing: He wants to be at 100% for Liege Bastogne Liege. Racing Fleche, which does not suit him a lot, he might be exhausted for LBL, which he wants to avoid. |

Will be interesting to see what Giant-Shimano can do. It's funny, they have two main sprinters, and around those they always have riders that pop up with good results like Geschke, Barguil, Dumoulin, Mezgec etc. Really, really impressive for such a small team. |

Most boring race of WT calendar is here again, so turn your televisions on with 5kms to go and you will not miss a thing, which will be Valverde/Kwiatek/ Katusha duo battle for the win.
Dont know why Kreuziger has some stars here, as he is far far from explosive climber (which coukld be seen also at AGR). LBL should be race for him...

The line up for this race is pretty weak. Lot of riders skipping this for L-B-L and he's still Tinkoff's leader hence the 3 star rating. Top10 is realistic for him IMO. |

Nope, but even Beijing stage race is much more interesting than 1km long sprint up the Huy

I'm not sure, but maybe a sprint up the Huy is even more interesting than a sprint up the Poggio
It's a tie for me |

I don't remember anybody sprinting up the Poggio, but all the sprinters trying to stay in contact there for the sprint later on..
F.e. I've been cheering for Greipel and it was quite interesting though, because just on the last metres he lost contact and desperately tried to get to the front with Roelandt's help again but was to exhausted for a sprint when he managed.
So: I don't get why you call MSR as boring as Fleche
EDIT: Indeed, I'd also say nothing is as boring as Fleche
Btw: Why is everybody hating Beijing? For me it's a quite normal stage race but with just not the top climbers riding there. Last year I really appreciated it though.

And don't get me started on the Tour! All they do is bike around France a bit, stay in some nice hotels, get some free food and then see the sites. Boring as hell! Entitled twats
But i do agree that Fleche is not good. It's all about waiting for the Mur, but i hope someone can make it exciting
