Well done Count, I think your thoughts about my team are pretty accurate. Just one small correction, I bought Roche primarily as a Ginanni´s support. I´m really curious how Ginanni/Roche combo will work especially in Ardennes classics.
Ooh, that is a risk, but if it pays off by giving one of them a big classic win or two then it will certainly pay off. It might leave you a bit thin on GC leaders throughout the season though.

I know, it´s a bit risky. Still, there are several races where Nicolas will be clear leader, namely Catalunya, Romandie and Vuelta. In fact, that is 34/58 of his race days

Pleased with Count's call there fir SRB.
I am pretty pleased with my squad, most question the sale of the two sprinters - I felt I gift the best out of van Stayen and reconciled myself that van Heerden did not do as well as I thought because he just was not up to it. These two offset the massive amount I spent on Coppel, but then I recieved a decent packet on Sella as well. If things go okay this year I should be decent next year, though Cancellara will have to go, I cannot possibly have the same rider for three years
Project will need Gesink to stay on his bike else they are going down.
Swisscom look very decent to me, not yet protour champs but they could too 5.
I think Santa could struggle, I am dying to see what their schedule is I assume it is Tenorio - Vuelta, Madrazo - tour, giro. the missing part is where else Tenorio goes but that really is it and it feels like the tour us going to be one epic battle.
Plucky Rothaus - favourites for the drop but by far the strongest favourites for the drop we have had. This underlines great core strength in protour this year.

Great previews Count, can't wait to read what you write about my team

Imo ING is a bigger favorite for the drop as they are pretty much Time Trialers and Sicard. He will have to win everything he enters, and even that might not be enough... Rothaus will sneak in points everwhere, and with a bit of luck (and some others being unlucky) they could sneak in a placement right over relegation

You've answered your own question there
I would be pretty unconcerned if I did relegate this year, as I kind of would like to rebuild my team from scratch given how long my key riders have been the same.

@mb: that makes the tour even more epic, I can see sotd wetting himself over that ttt with wiki and Santa taking chunks out of spilak there.
@heine: I agree with you mate really. It'll be interesting to see who does better ING or Rothaus. Long term I think Rothaus, this season dunno it depends how well Sicard does. With Phinney, Spilak and Madrazo/tenorio already confirmed for the tour and I cannot believe Sicard ain't gonna be there it could be tough to podium or even top five. An anonymous 6th to 10th is crappy considering how much sicard's salary is. I am bummed coz I think ING will beat my ass on the TTT race and even kiddy fiddler will beat copper in ITT's also.
On a separate note would be cool if someone had a go at relegation odds, top five odds and title odds for the PT

I'm sending my top TTT squad there as well, so it should be one hell of a race.

Perfect prediction of my team. Couldn't have made it better.
Except that Nizzolo it's able to score similar than guardini I think.
But other than that exactly my thinking. |

I can't see how Santander should be able to take chunks out of Spilak in the TTT to be honest, most other top GT riders can, however... ING, Wikipedia and B&O are obviously the worst competitors in the TTT, while quite a few other teams will also do better. If I can limit the TTT losses to around 2 minutes (Or below) I think it will be pretty good. I can hope that Spilaks sprint and hill combination can make him get a few extra seconds here and there which Madrazo shouldn't get - And hopefully the +3MO and +3HI over Phinney will make sure he get's a decent gap atleast a couple of times. To me Pluchkin is the one to really look after. He's better at TT, but similar in the sprints. Also Amador can probably fight for a top 5, Taaramae might even be dangerous, but in that case Phinney will kill everyone.

If they have planned their season well I don't think they will relegate, but it will be thereabout.

I think My race planning isn't too bad. Keijzer only 1 GT. Lulu Sanchez none. Sprinter in every race at least one of my two best if not both in some.
But still everything but last would be small success. Staying up would be huge surprise. In especially after all those training. |

So many previews this year and so limited time to read them all!
While it's always interesting to read such a well oriented opinion as yours, it gets pretty boring to me as I'm agreeing with every word you say Overall victory should be fought between Swisscom, Becherovka, Vesuvio, Festina and Wikipedia I guess, while Prio, ING, Rothaus are sure to be looking to escape the other end of the table. Everyone else should have variable degrees of safety during the season, with Santander and Project 1t4i being the most enigmatic to me.
I'm glad I've got your PT-maintenance approval even though I have to say I'm not particularly happy with my race-planning. Besides my lack of depth leaves me in a similar spot to Santander, where if my riders fail to deliver in their crucial moments I'll be pretty exposed.
Looking forward to the completion of this

All of the final previews are up and so is my guess for the final rankings. Not only that but as an added bonus Smowz didn't have times to do an entire preview of his own, so he asked me to put them in my preview posts. You can find them just under my ones on the first page!
Let me know what you think guys!

Interesting where you put B&O - not that I hate them now (actually they gave me the chance to go for Herklotz), but Pluchkin and Guldhammer only adapted to the training throughout the division and otherwise it's Pluchkin's what-if TdF points and van Lijke replacing (and possibly slightly out-doing) Klemme.
So I don't quite see them going that well all of a sudden.

Really nice preview of my team, Count!
As for Smowz' prediction, I really don't see why the team is going backwards.

SN hinted that this might be Frank Schleck’s last year with the Luxembourg squad
Say what? 0 chance that he ever leaves Vesuvio, until retirement forces it. And on Kittel, I don't see him as someone drawing in a lot of points, but nor do I see him as 'rubbish at everything else'. His flat and stamina stats make him a quite useful support rider in Team Swift.
Otherwise, a good read!
Curious that you have the bottom 7 teams as promoting teams, with only Bpost as being rated a little higher. I've not thought about it too much, but I don't expect Bpost to be the highest placed promoted team! I think that will be Tinkoff, Bouygues or Prio.
Also not sure that B&O can go from almost relegated to 6th with a very similar squad.
Do agree that Festina will be right up there. They have a team leader to go well in each GT, and that of course will carry over to the other races they compete in. Much could depend on the outcome of Guerao/Swift duels.

Well maybe staying still whilst other teams move forward?
After reading count's and roturn's previews I think Vueling, ING and Rothaus are top favs for drop. But the other promoted teams look very decent in terms of matching the weaker protour teams. Pendletons and project for me look the weakest, that is just my opinion.
Festina and Aker had brilliant transfer seasons I think they both have made significant strides forward.
