Yeah my sprintersetup is rather good if I don't sell any. In two years time I will have:
Óscar Guerao - 83SPR / 76ACC
Georgos Tzortzakis - 82SPR / 79ACC
Bryan Coquard - 81SPR / 83ACC
Jens Keukeleire - 80SPR / 79ACC
Anthony Lavoine - 80SPR / 78ACC
Nacer Bouhanni - 80SPR / 77ACC
Benoit Sinner - 78SPR / 73ACC
Would be a pretty competitive train

Festina-Canal+ decided to publicly announce their goals for the 2014 season:
..::Win Tour de France
..::Win points jersey Vuelta a España::..
..::Top 10 Paris-Nice::..
..::Top 10 Criterium du Dauphine::..
..::Top 10 Team Standings::..
We are aware, that winning the Tour de France could become extremely difficult but we expect the 4 other goals to be achieveable, and it was really important for our sponsors to be fairly competitive in the french races this upcoming season.

We are very very happy to announce that Carlos Castaño is back at Festina. Carlos rode with us in 2011 and had a very succesful spell at our team. Carlos have had a special place in our hearts always, and therefor it brings a lot of happy faces to the office that we have managed to bring him back. We are well aware, that Carlos isn't at his previous level, but he is still very much a great domestique for our leaders, especially for the GC races.
During the last spell in Festina Carlos Castaño took home two stagewins in the Deutschland Tour and Vuelta a Asturias respectively. He also crowned a very good Giro d'Italia with a 2nd and a 3rd place on specific stages, while ending up in 5th place overall. Besides doing very well in the Giro he also took 5th GC in the Deutschland Tour, 8th at Tour of Romandie and 9th at Vuelta a Asturias.
He is in the top 10 of riders with personal succes at the club going from 2011 and up until now.

The belgian rider Serge Pauwels have been brought in to help the team in the Grand Tours, and he should be a very complete rider for that show having a very decent timetrial and mountains capability.

Italian climber Gianpaolo Caruso have been brought in to strenghten the teams ability to push on in the tough mountains. The past years have been severe for the captains of the Festina outlet, having no lieutenant to guide them safely to the foot of the last mountain, but with Caruso on board that should no longer be an issue for the team.

Cool to see Caruso returning to the Pro Tour, and a bit funny that he accepted a wage only 5k higher than what he rejected as 'serious increase needed' during renewals!
You've done a really good job in general this year, I think. It's going to be interesting to see how much you can improve last year's ranking position

Thanks mate. I have lowered my expectations from the usual top 5 to top 10 this season, but I hope I can land it around 5th... My team is build upon Stage races though, so I might lose quite a lot of ground on the lighter hilly races and indeed will be nowhere to be found in the cobbles.
I'm pretty happy to have landed a very cheap 3-mans group of Castaño, Caruso and Pauwels though. Normally my leader is completely isolated after the first mountain, so this is a great upgrade for me, and who knows. Maybe they can grab a few points on their own finishing 25th in a stage race or so

You know this is a fantasy game right? Check the FAQ, they're not meant to reflect real life |

He's ProTour and has an 82 MO Ricco and an 83 MO Contador to be supported, so they would not ride for themselves anyway.

Neither of them will get one second of free time to chase their own dreams Perhaps Caruso can be the second best rider in the team at one time or so, but other than that they are absolutely bought in the have a higher MO rating than before where my best helpers was 74, 72 and 70. This season I can do 77, 76, 74, 74 which should mean that they are better at staying with the captains in the high mountains. Fuck hills I have plenty of hilly helpers

Congrats on signing David for a nice wage! He is a great talent to have, imo a great steal, that didn't fit into my plans.

Thanks a lot. My new cobbled star. I decided to go blank in the cobbles this season by selling Geert Steurs, but hopefully next season I can do much better than this and in two years time, who knows then he could possibly even do a top 10 here and there

It's not the first time around that we have been chasing the ukrainean climber, Vadim Ratiy, but this season it was finally a real option to get him onboard. Ratiy is bought as a helper, and his wage of 175.000€ was the main reason for the deal to be finally sealed.
Vadim is a sublime climber, who can stay with the best for 99% of the tough stages, and he is also a very solid timetriallist. He does, however, not like the long stages, especially if they have a large portion of flat involved, but he is a very solid diesel engine on steep roads and we are extremely happy to have gotten such a super helper.
While having aquired a super domestique for the mountains we have decided to part with french sprinter Nacer Bouhanni and russian timetriallist Ivan Kovalev in order to make room for Ratiy.

The team have gotten two talents stronger, which should make the future even brighter for Festina-Canal+
French rider Olivier Le Gac was one of the teams main targets this transferseason, and thus it is a great pleasure to be able to announce him joining our, already capable hilly segment. Olivier is a very punchy and aggressiv rider, who should ver competent in the toughest one-day races in the future.
Olivier Le Gace now
FL | MO | HI | TT | END | RES | REC | COB | SPR | ACC | FIG | DH | PRL | 69 | 66 | 72 | 59 | 69 | 72 | 68 | 52 | 63 | 64 | 70 | 71 | 59 |
Olivier Le Gac in future
FL | MO | HI | TT | END | RES | REC | COB | SPR | ACC | FIG | DH | PRL | 71 | 68 | 77 | 60 | 74 | 74 | 70 | 52 | 65 | 69 | 74 | 73 | 60 |
As if the signing of Le Gac wasn't enough the team also managed to get the signature of talented, cobbler Tom David from the New Zealand. Tom is an extremely versatile rider who can do all sorts of different races. Because of his versatile nature it's yet to be decided what kind of rider he will eventually be, although the list below marks and idea.
Tom David now
FL | MO | HI | TT | END | RES | REC | COB | SPR | ACC | FIG | DH | PRL | 70 | 62 | 72 | 65 | 72 | 70 | 68 | 73 | 68 | 72 | 65 | 69 | 65 |

Both riders have been secured with very reasonable wages.
Olivier Le Gac: 60.000€
Tom David: 100.000€

Alberto Contador bids his farewell, new star in sight
Alberto Contador have been with the team for some time now, and have clearly enjoyed his best years in professionel cycling getting two Vuelta a España podiums and the polka dot jersey in the Tour de France. Also a few wins in smaller GC races have been achieved, but time has come, and Alberto has expressed his joy with arriving at norwegian Aker - MOT, joining the current world champion Edvald Boasson Hagen.
But in a day of sorrow, smiles were quickly spotted around the office when one certain man parked his car outside the main facility. No less than superstar Simon Spilak has joined the team, and there was no beating around the bush for Spilak, who declared that he wanted to be the teams best rider ever. Bold words from a superstar, entering a team with prominent names in the history such as Thor Hushovd, Samuel Sanchez Gonzalez, Markus Fothen and Alberto Contador.
We present to you: Simon Spilak, ladies and gentlemen!
