Announcement of 2014 Goals
Last year, the team was way too optimistic regarding its chosen goals with only 1/5 goals completed. As a result of inexperience, the team never signed a leader good enough to fulfill those goals. This year, we're doing it differently. We're optimisitc again, but our success hinges on signing a very good South African sprinter. In fact, there are 2 sprinters we plan to sign - their surnames rhyme with "Floffman and "Dan Feerden". Thus, you might notice all our chosen races are sprinter's races! Don't be eluded though, we won't be a flat-exclusive team. There are rumours circulating around the team 2 popular mountain goats (more of that next)!
We've also exlusively chosen HC goals. An HC win goal was chosen for it's 5 point weighting (we need a big budget) and three Top 5 HC goals were chosen as they carry 4 points respectively. A C1 Win goal also counts 4 points, but we believe it's a more 'consistent' goal to finish Top 5 in an HC than winning a C1 race.
| Race | Category | Goal | | Dutch Food Valley Classic | HC | Win | | Down Under Classic | HC | Top 5 | | Berlin Pro Race | HC | Top 5 | | Eneco Tour | HC | Top 5 | | PCT Team Standings | PCT | Top 15 |
___________________________________________
Win | Dutch Food Valley Classic
Our toughest goal and the one I'm most uncertain about. As mentioned, our transfer season will be about the signatures of a star sprinter. Even if we do sign that sprinter we require everything to go our way to achieve a win. No doubt we'll be sending a strong lead-out for this race.
Top 5 | Down Under Classic
The season opener for PCT and what better way than to make it a goal race! A short, sharp classic should end in a very fast bunch sprint, but if we're geared up with the right sprinter and lead-out men a Top 5 is very attainable.
Top 5 | Berlin Pro Race | |
The same chain of thought was used as above and another Top 5 result should be realistic enough. With the exception of this race being longer. It should, however, benefit us more than a shorter race. The same formula applies: strong sprinter, strong lead-out men!
Top 5 | Eneco Tour | |
Our only stage-race goal. The race will most-likely come down to bonus seconds. A string of consistent finishes should result in a Top 5, maybe even a podium or a win result.
Top 15 | PCT Team Standings
This goal is most realistic of all and acts as a 'fail-safe' in case something in transfer season goes horribly wrong and neither "Floffman" or "Dan Feerden" join the team. After a glance at our shortlist we are fairly confident that the team should finish in the top half of the standings come the end of season.

Arroyo and Pedraza linked to Africa?
Rumours have circulated indicating that the Project: Africa might be interested in signing a foreign import. Not just any import, but a mountain goat!
It's almost transfer season and more rumours are circulating around the Project: Africa team. Initially, it was surrounding South Africans Nolan Hoffman, John-Lee Augustyn and Juan van Heerden, but as of late the team seems to be snooping around foreign waters.
Columbian Walter Pedraza, a countryman and close friend of Project: Africa rider Julian Rodas, seems to be of interest. Rumour has it that Rodas is trying to convince his close friend that although it's a foreign concept, the team is a suitable home for him. Pedraza would certainly be the lead climber if he were to join the project.
Another foreigner, but this time from Europe is also linked to the team. David Arroyo is certainly not getting any younger, but is no doubt still a great rider. Word on the street says that if the Spaniard was to join, he'd assume a mentoring role of younger riders as well as leading the team on the climbing front.
Manager, aidanvn13, has nor confirmed nor denied the rumours. According to him if the team were to, hypothetically speaking, be interested in the riders they'd only be after the signature of one of them, not both. He also went on to expressly say that his main targets are still van Heerden, Augustyn and Hoffman.
Pedraza on the attack.
Arroyo climbing to victory.

Pedraza is on my list as well, and probably on every south american team as well. |

I don't want to be annoying or anything, but I'm pretty sure that's not Pedraza in the photo
Otherwise amazing job with the graphics. Probably the best HQ thread in the ManGame

Oh shit, just realised that I just Googled "Pedraza PCMDaily" and that's what I got. Didn't even take a proper look at the photo
Thank you for the kind words, it means a lot coming from a MG veteran like you Sorry for the ambiguity of the team names. It never occurred to me until a few days ago!

These jerseys are brilliant. A real team should give you an oppurtunity to design a jersey for them.

Rodas, Lewis and Lemus on the move?
It appears that all is not well at the South African Project: Africa squad. It seems that foreigners on the team are not happy with the current state of affairs. American Craig Lewis, Mexican climbing talent Luis Enrique Lemus Davila and Columbian legend Julián Rodas might be looking for a new team next year.
According to anonymous sources the riders still have a contract with the team, but might be up for sale by the team. All riders have been linked to several North American and South American teams, but nothing concrete has been established.
Project: Africa could not be reached for comment. However, the predicament began when Julián Rodas alleged that he overheard the team manager (aidanvn13) saying,
"We might want to get rid of some the 'tourists' to get in a bit of spare change for the big names, like J-L."
The exact context of the comment is yet unknown, but one thing is certain: the non-Africans don't seem too happy in Africa!
| Name | FL | MO | HL | TT | ST | RS | RC | CO | SP | AC | FT | DH | PR | | | Luis E. Lemus D.* | 67 | 70 | 68 | 66 | 69 | 66 | 62 | 56 | 57 | 61 | 70 | 71 | 66 | | Craig Lewis | 69 | 71 | 70 | 71 | 68 | 73 | 69 | 51 | 58 | 65 | 61 | 56 | 71 | | Julián Rodas | 67 | 76 | 71 | 68 | 68 | 73 | 70 | 51 | 59 | 70 | 68 | 67 | 68 |
*Note that Lemus is on level 2XP - can develop into about 76/77 Mountain.

Brilliant jerseys! Beautiful work yet again. I probably won't let you get all of them, though
Sad to see Rodas leaving, was great for you last season and enjoyed watching him ride in the MTN kit. I can understand though, with him ageing and you becoming more African. Would be cool if one of the Colombian CT teams could take him on. |

It is a shame. I really like him, but I might need the money at the end of the day. Anyway, we'll see come transfers... I think he'll look cool in a CT Coloumbian team, being such a legend and all.

Or send him back to the place that almost turned him into legend for almost beating Jose Alarcon in his home race. Although I wouldn't mind seeing him lead a Colombian CT team either. Rodas is just a strange but cool cyclist.
