Matt Goss(Orica)
Elia Viviani(Cannondale)
Roberto Ferrari(Lampre)
How It Unfolded:
The start of the UCI world tour calendar begins in Australia with the Tour Down Under, Who is going to win the first race of the season.
The only KoM points today would make the winner of the points in the Mountain jersey. Rick Flens of Belkin tuck 10pts and the KoM jersey tommorow, Michal Kolar of Tinkoff Saxo came right behind Flens and tuck 6pts, then Angelo Tulik from Europcar tuck 4pts and then team mate Yukiya Arashiro tuck the minimum 2pts.
From the attacks on the KoM points a breakway formed which contained Rick Flens, Michal Kolar and Angelo Tulik. Arashiro was unable to join the breakaway after Team Sky did a great job in bringing him back in.
The first of three sprint points would be on offer but there are only three spots but there are three in the breakaway so all points and time bonuses would got to them. Michal Kolar took 6pts and a time bonus of -3s, Angelo Tulik took 4pts and a time bonus of -2s and Rick Flens took 2pts and -1s.
From the 1 sprint points Rick Flens was dropped from the breakaway and was brung into the peloton by a great effort again from Team Sky. The winner of the second points was won by Angelo Tulik who took 6pts and -3s, then just behind him was Michal Kolar who took 4pts and a time bonus of -2s. The final seconds would go down to the peloton and could prove vital to the GC. With the peloton closing in to the sprint plenty of sprint trains were forming but there was an early attack from Geraint Thomas who took 2pts and a time bonus of -1s.
The final sprint points were won by Angelo Tulik who took 6pts and a time bonus of -3s, then a little further behind Michal Kolar took 4pts and a time bonus of -2s. Then it was down to the peloton and there were a few sprint trains forming but they were worried about attacks from other people. Then Geraint Thomas attacked but couldn't hold on, The Gorilla(Andre Greipel) was just too good and took 2pts and a time bonus of -1s.
Within the last final 10km the 2-man breakaway were brung in by some great work by Orica GreenEDGE, so it was going to come down to a bunch sprint. The best placed rider under the 1km banner was Matt Goss because of Michael Matthews. But there were still others like Elia Viviani who had the inside line around the short corner, and German giant Marcell Kittel and The Gorilla Andre Greipel who had built up momentum by winning the last sprint points.
The Gorilla Andre Greipel won by a bikes lenght, The Gorilla just loves the Tour Down Under by taking his 15th stage today. Just behind the gorilla was Jose Joaquin Rojas and then on the last podium place was Marcell Kittell
The Gorilla celebrating on the podium after taking his 15th Tour Down Under stage win and the first stage of the UCI world tour.

Robert Gesink (Belkin)
Geraint Thomas (Sky)
How It Unfolded:
The start of stage 2, and what a day it could turn to be with a short climb right near the end which could be something for the Grand Classification contenders.
Today's breakaway contained: Matteo Bono of Lampre, Bjorn Thurau of Europcar, Pavel Kochetkov of Katusha and Kenny Elissonde but they never got beyond two minute of the peloton with Team Sky at the helm obviously hoping today something could happen for them.
All of the points in the first sprint competition would belong to the breakaway and Bjorn Thurau took 6pts and a time bonus of -3s, Then in 2nd Matteo Bono took 4pts and a time bonus of -2s and finally in third place was Pavel Kochetkov who took the minimum 2pts and a time bonus of -1s.
Leading up to the second and final sprint there was an attack form the peloton which contained Darren Lapthorne from Drapac who could get himself a time bonus. Within 2km of the sprint the breakway were only 20 seconds in-front of the peloton so Geraint Thomas of Sky went on an attack to gain some bonus seconds but couldn't get to the breakaway in time. Pavel Kochetkov came in first then late arriver Darren Lapthorne came in 2nd then in last place was Kenny Elissonde.
Leading up to the Corkscrew hill there were plenty of attacks from people like Robert Gesink, Enrico Gasparotto, Nicki Sorenson and Guillaume Bonnafond. But none could last.
With the Corksrew climb hovering above everyone there was an attack from Ben Hermans which looked promising but was dragged back in to the peloton by a hard working Lotto Belisol Team who were trying to keep everyone together so that the gorilla Andre Greipel could be in contention for the win.
With 1km to go on the final ascent Lotto Belisol were dropped of the front, so Geraint Thomas so an opportunity to escape from the peloton with no-one taking control. Could he win the stage were he won it last and go in to the Ochre jersey again like last year.
Following Geraint's attack he was able to win the KoM so if he didn't end up in the leaders jersey he would be wearing the KoM jersey.
Well Done Geraint Thomas taking the stage, the leaders jersey and the KoM just like he did last year on the same stage. 31 seconds behind him came a group of 22 that contained the likes of Frank Schleck, Richie Porte, Giovanni Visconti and Robert Gesink, but not pre-race favourite Simon Gerrans who was dropped on the descent and finished 57 seconds down on Geraint Thomas with the Gorilla Andre Greipel.
Geraint Thomas celebrating on the podium again on this stage 31 seconds in-front of Frank Schleck and Giovanni Visconti.

Stage 3?
Looking forward to the story update, as I'm doing something similar and want to compare, but without the story writing. I'm playing as BMC and using the 2013 startlist.
And what is it about Geraint Thomas and that corkscrew climb? He also won that stage 2 in my game, outsprinting Gilbert at the finish. But Gilbert has claimed the ochre jersey from Thomas now in my game after stage 3
I'm doing a stage a day to correspond with the actual real life stage race. |

How it Unfolded:
The beginning of stage 3 looks to be a thrilling day for the Grand Classification contenders and all effort would be required.
The first and only KoM were won by Jussi Veikanen of FDJ who won 10pts, Then Jay McCarthy of Tinkoff-Saxo who won 6pts, Then Stig broeckx of lotto belisol who won 4pts and finally Jan Bakelants who won 2pts.
The Breakaway contained 7 riders who were Anthony Roux(FDJ), Amael moinard(BMC), Serge Pauewls(Omega-Pharma), Bernard Sulzberger(Drapac), Lachlan Morton(Garmin), Yukiro Arashiro(Europcar) and George Bennet(Cannondale). Who were closely monitored by Team Sky at the front of the peloton.
The first sprint of the day was won by Bernard Sulzberger who won 6pts and a time bonus of -3s, Then Anthony Roux who won 4pts and a time bonus of -2s, then finally Serge Pauewls who won 2pts and a time bonus of -1s.
The second and final sprint was won by Yukiro Arashiro who won 6pts and a time bonus of -3s, then Bernard Sulzberger who won 4pts and a time bonus of -2s, and finally Serge Pauewls who won 2pts and a time bonus of -1s.
With 2 laps left, Simon Gerrans pre-race favourite attacked. No-one followed thinking that it was too early, and the pace on the front by Trek didn't increase because he dropped time yesterday.
Simon Gerrans advantage kept on increasing and was a threat to the Grand Classification so Enrico Gasparotto of Astana, Robert Gesink of Belkin, Frank Schleck of Trek, Giovanni visconti of movistar, Diego Ulissi of Lampre, Jan Bakelants of Omega-Pharma, Geraint Thomas of Sky and Richie Porte of Sky all atacked looking to bridge the gap.
Leading up to the last few km the pace was high in the chasing group so a few riders were dropped(Robert Gesink, Frank Schleck, Richie Porte, Jan Bakelants) they all ended up in the peloton. The chasing group were looking like they were going to catch Gerrans with him in site. The leader Geraint Thomas was looking very tired.
Nooooooooooooooo, Geraint Thomas was dropped by the chasing group within the last 2km, and it was looking like the chasing group were getting Gerrans with him just around the corner.
The final trio of chasers cought Gerrans inside the last km and the time bonus seconds of the finish would be vital for the GC.
Giovanni Visconti took it on the line in-front of Diego Ulissi and Simon Gerrans, then missing out on the bonus seconds was Enrico Gasparotto. 46 second behind was Fabio Felline then Geraint Thomas with many over race favourites.

Well MrTeamSky, I just finished stage 5, up the old Willunga Hill in my game.
Gilbert held a 19 seconds lead over Gasparotto (from memeory). Stage finished with Glibert 2nd to Gasparotto, who finished 10 seconds ahead.
Team BMC, with some excellent race tactics, have managed to help Gilbert defend the ochre jersey up old Willunga Hill. Luckily, Gilbert's daily form was excellent on the day. He now holds a 5 seconds lead over Gasparotto in the GC, going into the final flat stage around Adelaide. Time bonuses will be extremely important in this final flat stage. Gilbert also first in KoM jersey after this stage, but Gasparoto will wear it as he's second in KoM.
Another uncanny thing is the number of riders in the breakaway when compared with the real life race. They have been almost identical in my game, and were exactly the same in the first 2 days, then give or take one rider it has almost been the same each day.
Well, your Team Sky in my game: Thomas is 8th in GC, and 6th in KoM. He's the best placed from Team Sky. From memory, Team Sky sit 2nd in teams ranking, one ahead of BMC and one behind RadioShack.
Let's see if we can get similar results in the end.
And BTW, thanks for the update Making some interesting reading. Strangely Gerrans is never as strong in this game as he is IRL.

RobbieMcEwan_Jaune - Some great results for your BMC team hopefully Gilbert can hold on to the win.
I am a bit disappointed in my Team Sky boys Geraint Thomas should be doing a lot better.
Thank you for all the support.
What are the Hill stats for the main riders in TDU.

Matt Goss (Orica)
Elia Viviani (Cannondale)
Roberto ferrari (lampre)
How it Unfolded:
Stage 4 was a flat day so it would be a rest day for the GC Contenders. Today has only one favourite and that is the Gorilla Andre Greipel looking for his 16th TDU Stage win.
Today's breakaway formed just before the KoM and it had Jussi Viekenan of FDJ, Brent bookwalter of BMC, Bjorn Thurau of Europcar, Jack Bobridge of Belkin, Serge Pauwels of Omega-Pharma and Ian Stannard of Team Sky
The was just the one KoM today and it was closely contested and the winner was Bjorn Thurau who won 10pts, Serge Pauwels who won 6pts, Jussi Veikanen who won 4pts and a little further behind Brent Bookwalter who picked up the minimum of 2pts.
Bjorn Thurau was on form and won the first intermediate Sprint ahead of Ian Stannard who took 4pts and a time bonus of -2s and then Jack Bobridge who took 2pts and a time bonus of -1s.
It was the Bjorn Thurau show by giving the fans a great show by winning the last Sprint in-front of Jack Bobridge with mm in it, in the final position was Ian Stannard who took the minimum points and time bonus.
Nooooooooooo a crash with 6km to go with some big riders. The main rider was race favourite The Gorilla Andre greipel who will be gutted, also 2nd place in the Grand Classification Diego Ulissi who will surely drop down the leaderboard. Other riders where Lachlan Morton, Jurgen Roelandts which meant Lotto Belisol had nothing left, and the person who caused the crash Luke Rowe. All were looking fine to finish the race and the tour.
Under the 1km banner the best placed rider was Matthew Goss down to Michael Matthews but he was the best placed rider on stage 1 but came 5th but the Gorilla wasn't there having crashed which meant maybe some of the lesser known sprinters could take a win but there was still the Giant from Giant-Shimano Marcell Kittel.
He held on to it Matthew Goss took his second stage win of the Tour Down Under and his first of 2014. Right behind him was Elia Viviani and Michael Matthews. Further behind the falling group came in +4:19 and Diego Ulissi dropped down to 86th 4:27 down on Giovanni Visconti.

Nice update!
A major crash of many riders I've only ever seen once in my PCM13. Mostly the crashes in my game involve just an individual rider or two, so consider yourself lucky if you see a big one, and even moreso if you're riders are not involved in it.
Griepel bossed that stage in my corresponding game.
Watch out for Gasparotto in the next stage up Willunga Hill. He goes like a beast there, or at least he did in my game Be prepared to fight very hard in order to hold onto your KoM Jersey there. Attacks will come from everywhere.
A small mistake in my previous post. Team Sky were 5th overall in the Team Rankings in my game after stage 5, not second.

RobbieMcEwen_Jaune - a crash isn't really a good thing but i know what you mean. Ill make sure i can hold my own on Willunga hill and repeat Richie's win in real life but with Geraint.
sutty68 - Yes i wanted to put someone in the breakaway and he seemed best to do the best. I hope so but i know it will be a big ask.

Hello and this is a message from a friend of the MrTeamSky user. The reason why there hasn't been a post in a while is because MrTeamSky internet is down and wont be fixed for about a week.
He told me to right this i haven't hacked him
