Tour Down Under Review

The Tour Down Under was a great success for the team named Fassa Bartolo. 5 stage wins for the team, 4 wins for Petacchi and 1 for Pozzato as well as the overall win. The first World Tour race of the year was a huge success and everyone can't wait for the next World Tour race in a month or so.

Thought about doing something like this with VinoPfft

I would maybe raise some of Bradley's stat limitsWink

61 + 5 stars= around 75-77 which is enough compete for a GT, but I wouldn't see him winning oneWink

I looked and it is 6 stars for both mountains and hills. I thought 5 stars was the most potential stars but 6 is.

And thanks cycleman. It was unlucky but Hushovd got a few top 10s

I'm sure he will take on a GT and win one day Wink

GP de Marseille Review

This french race was the first of the season. The team wanted to go and show them exactly what we can do. We sent Damien Nazon there as our main sprinter and one of the best leadout men in the world, Julian Dean, to lead him out. Together they achieved a great result for the team.

GP de Besseges Review

The GP de Besseges was a semi successful race for the team. Damien Nazon got a couple of podiums, Leblacher also got a good breakaway podium on the last day of racing. Halgand came in 7th overall and an in form Julian Dean came in 9th overall. Team Cofidis came out on top with Farazijn and Vasseur coming 1-2 in the overall classification.

The Team

i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab227/MrLove222/TheTeam_zps23f8f9e4.png

A strong team working around our leader Halgand and our sprinter Nazon. I'm here to help with the leadout and go for breakaways on the hill stages.

Stage 1

i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab227/MrLove222/StageProfile_zps916dd74c.png

A hilly stage, today I'm going for the breakaway.

The Race

My first attack of the year.

i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab227/MrLove222/TM1_zps3c02cd43.png

I was soon joined by Labbe (US Postal), Martin (R.A.G.T), Cavallari (Vini Caldirola), Rebollo (Relax - Bodysol) and Marichal (Lotto - Domo).

i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab227/MrLove222/TM2_zps0cc164b0.png

Martin won the 6 points from the mountain sprint ahead of Rebollo and Marichal.

With 80km to go we had 3.43 on the peloton.

With 25km to go I was exhausted and dropped off. The team was getting the chase organised behind.

i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab227/MrLove222/TM3_zps4deae3e9.png

15km to go and the gap is down to 2.30. I am somewhere in the middle.

5km to go and it looked like the leading group of 6 is going to stay away.

It's Martin who takes the win for R.A.G.T ahead of Pichon and Marichal.

Wiggo's Reaction

I am happy with today. my first race. I am kind of bummed that I couldn't stay with the leading group and get some extra time on the favourites. I am though happy with my stage today.

I will seeya tomorrow for stage 2

Stage 2

i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab227/MrLove222/StageProfile_zps6f7af3bd.png

Today is the first of 2 flat stages. We are looking to take the win today.

The Race

Kaggestad tried to get into today’s break for Credit today.

i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab227/MrLove222/TM1_zpsad54b943.png

He got caught so Kashechkin went instead. He won the mountain sprint while attacking.

Le Mevel takes the next mountain points for us. We are really trying to get those points.

Le Mevel then wins the next one and takes the lead of the mountain classification.

i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab227/MrLove222/TM2_zps80f262d6.png

With 40km to go Hesjedal and Martinez T attacked.

i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab227/MrLove222/TM3_zps6fc812bf.png

With 20km to go the peloton was all together. All the teams were trying to
get their sprinters to the front.

With 12km to go we had our train set up. I would lead then give it to Halgand, Dean would do the final leadout and Nazon finish it off.

i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab227/MrLove222/TM4_zpsaca49235.png

1km to go and Nazon is leading by the smallest margin

i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab227/MrLove222/TM5_zps9b6f583b.png

But Vicioso steals the show and passes Nazon with 200m left to race.

Wiggo’s Reaction:

Well I really helped with the leadout today which was my job. I’m happy that the team achieved a podium finish today. We achieved our goal of podium finish but Nazon is a bit disappointed that he didn’t win today. Le Mevel has also gotten the mountains jersey which he is happy about and he wants to keep it. I am happy with my performance today and so is the manager. Let’s hope I can repeat my performance tomorrow.

Seeya then

@Sutty68-Thanks. And yes. Once his form is up he will hopefully start evolving his stats. That's when the results will come in.

Stage 3

i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab227/MrLove222/StageProfile_zps4283e9de.png

The 2nd and last flat stage of the race, Nazon wants to improve from yesterday’s result and I plan to help him do that.

The Race

Le Mevel is going for the breakaway today to try and get a good lead in the mountains classification. He is joined by Vandewalle, Garcia Marin and Duenas Nevado.

i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab227/MrLove222/TM1_zps7a6ab3ff.png

Le Mevel gets maximum points on the first mountain easily.2nd goes to Vandewalle and 3rd to Garcia Marin

On the 2nd climb Halgand went on the attack.

i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab227/MrLove222/TM2_zps45b8ffed.png

There was a split with 20km to go and unfortunately I was caught out while getting water for the team.

i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab227/MrLove222/TM3_zps2fc718bf.png

With 5km to go Halgand and Vandewalle were still out front, but not by much.

Nazon got boxed in so badly. Vicioso takes his 2nd win. Nazon could only manage 8th and Dean takes 9th.
