The only thing that needs to be said on my part is that we're entitled to opinions, and as much as it might pain you Ruben, your opinion is not worth more than everyone else's. Nor does it give you a right to be rude.
Were any of us rude? We commented our thoughts and put up questions on the DB because we are interested in it (which were never answered, but that's a different matter. nothing against the DB-makers).
But of course you carry on with the most over-used and ridiculous argument ever: "If you can do better why don't you do it yourself". Meaning what? that the only ones who can comment on the quality of something are those who have done similar work? Well then, why are you commenting on riders' abilities, Ruben? Are you a top rider?
Flawed logic, isn't it?
And I'd appreciate it if you'd restrict these inane comments to the forum, if at all, instead of pestering people with PMs that are nothing but a quote of a forum post.

Were any of us rude? Looks at the stats. Kills himself. Seems pretty rude to me.
Or what about "the stats are horirble, there is too much green" doesnt sound very tactfull either. We commented our thoughts and put up questions on the DB because we are interested in it (which were never answered, but that's a different matter. nothing against the DB-makers).

I think you guys are arrogant beyond belief, spoiled brats, who can't do anything themselves "a db is so much work" ...half of you know 0,0 about continental racing. The stats of small teams, you don't even look at them, because you know virtually nothing about them, except maybe some teams from your own country. And yet you critisise work of people who DO know these riders and teams, who are interested in a realistic database on all levels. Yet you look at 1 top team, see your favourite, or less favourite riders are over/underrated in your mind and burn the database to the ground.
You guys are to me, respectless idiots |

And I'm not the only one who thinks the comments made here are ridicolous. Maybe you should look into the mirror. |

Yes you are respectless, how can you even deny that.
I've spent months researching every goddamn rider in the database, looking up results, questioning team managers what their riders strongpoints are (Hagen f.ex). Making it all balanced and testing it relentlessly for hours. Name any other db-maker who has done that. I can only come up with 2, Dankan and PlakkerNL, they show the same devotion and dedication to making a database.
When you release that work for the community, for FREE, and somebody who tihinks he knows it all over the internet comes and says "The stats are horrible. I'll kill myself"
That's pretty respectless for me.
Now back to your, great sir Waghlon |

Notice the contradiction?

You don't get the point that you guys are respectless when you say you kill yourself when you look at the stats?

Obviously, that type of sentences are only said in an ironic way, the same as saying "try harder"...
The community likes to see good projects, and if we see tow guys making an awful db individuately (don't know if I wrote this word right), why not joining forces to do a good db? Some projects done by an only person deserve the "virtual death" and nothing more...

it was a friendly jab at the previous posts, which I thought was extremely obvious. If I were criticising the stats, which I rarely do, I'd say what I disagreed with instead of saying they sucked. The real meat of that post was in what followed.
In retrospect it's my fault for not making it more obvious what I meant, but your confrontational attitude is also getting very old. You should do something about that highly-strung attitude.

Ruben has decided to leave the site, and I believe that's also the best solution for the site and its members.
End of discussion, and back on track. |

I'm not sure we will miss anyone who couldn't say anything good about someone non-dutch (not only the riders...) Here are my favourite quotes about Ruben:
Geez Ruben - is there no discipline where there isnt a rider that you need to post all the time saying how great they are compared to everyone else?
Dekker on the Road. Boom in Cyclocross. Bos on the track?
...If you'll win a World cup, you will sign a new contract. With Rabobank. But what will change? You'll get a road bike and a two cross bikes (Colnago, of course), you'll get more money (that's the main difference), you should find a house or flat in Netherlands*(but after two week you'll find out that your neighbour is Ruben and you'll break contract and move back to Czech rep or to Belgium... |

Or not...It's better to get him on sight than watching him insulting you in another well-known site, like he did with another member some weeks ago.

I think I was running away at this well known site..to not hear anything about Ruben.
This is out of time thread already..but has Ruben "shooting"..then it's civil to answer.
If he flashes he's db..and dont accept any critics..then he is naive.
Yes it is hard work and I admire that. Yes I have made my own stats..but those is just for my own use...
"Shut up I am mister cycling..what you know idiot"..wrong place to talk like this. I belive most of forum members are cycling fans here..
Sad to loose cycling fan ..who has been just to passionate. |

Those arguments over here don't have any sense. People deserve to talk about what they think it's wrong. Then his opinion can be felt as balanced or not by the rest of the crowd. But we're not anyone to tell someone his knowledge isn't worth a shit. Even though I'd think the same Ruben does, I would never fall into misrespect towards other users.
This is sad... |

So Ruben leaves after a disagreement with myself and some rather unpleasant comments towards Guido. Coincidentally, today is one year that I registered here. Even more so, it's also one year today that Guido registered.
sad that this happened
