There's a saying when you start a new job: When your first day at the office is good, the job usually sucks. And if it's bad, it could turn out quite pleasant. So, in another words, I'm sure Rabobank's races to shine are still yet to come.

Good luck with your story. Hopefully this will be a long way to go. Smile

We only have one win so far Weening won Haut Var, we have skipped every race apart from Het Volk. Are season starts now with Paris Nice a crucial build up race for Menchov's main goal in July.

@ Shonak Thanks and yes your right, and it will be along way to go i really want to win big races with this team, and to race against Ullrich is just a bonus.

With only a 4.3 km chrono to start us off and the rest flat and hilly with no long climbs Freire is the leader, Menchov has used this as a key race in his preperation and will try to be competitive, we want a top 3 in GC and points jersey from this race.

With 10 kms till the first intermediate Menchov goes on the attack.
i1364.photobucket.com/albums/r738/danielclapp1/pcm0052_zps5eeea773.jpg

Dennis takes what could be 3 valuble seconds, Freire takes 2nd place.

The BOTD was formed soon after, they have 4 minutes gap with a long 85 km till the finish.
i1364.photobucket.com/albums/r738/danielclapp1/pcm0053_zps5daf408d.jpg

Vasseur really should give up now they are not going to make it, Burghardt is trying to bridge to them but the Peloton is not far behind.
i1364.photobucket.com/albums/r738/danielclapp1/pcm0054_zpsb6136d5c.jpg

5 kms before the final intermediate sprint it is all back together, we dont contest this sprint.

We have our sprint train set up, Lowik, Menchov, Van Heeswijk, Brown and Freire.

Incredible win by Valverde, he as shown all the sprinters up.

Look how much Freire closed down, he was 67 kmh in same spot that Valverde was 60.Sad

Astana bring a massive group over the line, they dropped back for Kloden. Names like Evans, Ullrich and Kloden have lost massive time today.

Thanks Sutty, i fear Valverde is going to be a menace this carear, his stats are just silly lol. He must be in great shape to win a bunch sprint.

Also im not losing motivation but that stage took really long and as it was a flat stage are you ok if i dont do so many screens. I think 2 screens for a flat stage is enough, what about you lot?

Decent sprint from Freire Wink

Nice to see some favorites lost a lot of time today.

A little remark, it's not Dennis, but Denis Menchov.

For the rest, looking very good so far, hope this can come far

Nuyens winning Santos Tour Down Under. Maybe Rabobank should consider about giving him a contract.

Nice to see Menchov is really motivated to ride a great classification here. Smile

atlanta
@MrUfo, yes Menchov will try for GC their is only 1 stage he should be able to do well on and that is the stage to Mende(think its the climb Westra won on?) I will keep trying with him on Flat stages to get 3 seconds as with their not being decisive stages he may struggle else as he does not have a good punch. Also ive decide Freire wont do the Intermediates as i think it uses energy up.

To myfollowers
Sorry i have been really busy last few days i have not quit lol, will watch Eng V Ger and then do few stages for the moring maybe.

Nice to see old shirt and Ullrich back in saddle.

Don't who did the base but that is a great job Banana

Valverde is always strong at the beginning of the season.

Good luck for Mende's stage. Jalabert's special Wink

@ duxili, yes Ullrich is 1 of my all time fav riders, seeing as 1 of my biggest dissapointments as a fan was 06 TDF with Basso V Ullrich showdown not happening, i just had to put them in the story.

I reckon Valverde will be a menace, the guy has 81/83 for Mnt and Hil. And he can sprint, but we dont give up when we have the pope Dennis Menchov.

Dont let the profile fool you Punchers will have a chance as it rises towards the end, if Valverde won yesterday he should bein the mix today. We are going to keep a high pace untill the irst Intermedaite as we plan to get 3 bonus secods with Mencov, it worked well yesterday so we will try again as that will really help the GC.

No chance of Menchov getting any bonus seconds as attack after attack happend and we just did not get their in time, we will know save energy for the finale.
i1364.photobucket.com/albums/r738/danielclapp1/pcm0068_zps8ba8dc35.jpg

Caisse Epargne are working on the front trying to bring back and 11 man break, 4'04" the gap.
i1364.photobucket.com/albums/r738/danielclapp1/pcm0071_zps649c530d.jpg

2'15" the gap with 50 kms to go.

25 kms to go and the team are riding really well at the front and out of trouble, break almost caught which contains yesterdays timeloss victim Jan Ullrich.
i1364.photobucket.com/albums/r738/danielclapp1/pcm0072_zps609f9766.jpg

4 kms to go and the break had still not been caught, Yellow jersey leader Valverde has attacked to that group we rely on Menchov and Ardilla to bring Freire up we have control on the front.
i1364.photobucket.com/albums/r738/danielclapp1/pcm0074_zps2a5f4a4f.jpg

2.5 kms to go and Cadel Evans starts his sprint.

Oscar Freire wins.BananaBananaBanana
i1364.photobucket.com/albums/r738/danielclapp1/pcm0076_zps8ee5d07d.jpg

Top 10: A time gap aswell, Valverde was silly wasting his energy by constantly attacking, i think he is the main rival though.

GC: 2nd place on GCPfft
i1364.photobucket.com/albums/r738/danielclapp1/pcm0080_zps82c46112.jpg

That was the perfect stage quite nervous though becuase as i said it was definately not flat and Brown completely blew and he was last man so i decided not to use Van Heijswick either, Ardilla and Menchov were almost dead and Freire launched with 2kms to go and just blew them away.

sutty68
Great Victory for Oscar and the team Grin

The first of many we hope Wink
