Because 2013 tests are way more advanced than 2012 ones. Surely if there's something there it'll totally be detected this time
PR exercise pure and simple
Unless Cookson suspects a cover up to help promote the relatively new Canadian WT one day races.
He has nothing to do with those races really though. They weren't created on his success and they dont thrive because of him.

Yeah, but if he getss busted, i don't think those races would last much longer. He's the only good rider Canada has atm, there'd be so much negative publicity and everything that people would loose interest.

Svein Tuft is good imo. There are a bunch of other average riders.
And as I am saying. The race was created before Hesjedal really burst onto the scene. Surely the organizers saw that cycling was on the rise in Canada even before Hesjedal did what he did.
There is already so much negative publicity and the people that already do show up know what they are getting, and still have the passion that they do.
The Tour of Alberta on the other hand, I could definitely see becoming extinct.

For those not following the right twitter accounts, it seems Bjarne Riis has just sold his team to Oleg Tinkoff.
Current investigations have sped up the process.
Not that I like Tinkoff or was unhappy to see him kept at bay, but Riis out is a good riddance. |

The press-worker from Team Saxo Bank denies that Riis Cycling has been sold to Tinkov, but "can't" say if there is any other sort of collaboration between the two parts.

'Fired' is a bit harsh. His contract is running out and simply isn't being renewed. Still 'tough', though - Hoffman has been with the team since 2000.
Tinkov's camp is saying that they are negotiating with several teams - including Saxo - about a potential take-over. |

Random thought of the day:
Boonen was at Postal. Nobody mentioned him in the USADA investigation
So were Devolder, Van den Broeck and Leif Hoste. Out of those 4 Belgians, Boonen is the least suspicious imo. And we barely have an "anti-doping culture". Merckx got caught in the Giro, no one gives a fuck. You know that incident where Gilbert was accused of using cortisones? No one gave a fuck, while at the same time there was a massive dopinghunt going on in the Netherlands. If you ask a Belgian cycling supporter what he thinks of Armstrong, there's a pretty big chance he'll say "I don't care, he was still the best".
Frank VDB was big news, but once he was dead, everyone loved him again, "he was victim of an unjust system".

That's true. Zoetemelk is still regarded as a hero here, as are other great Dutch riders of the past.
Boogerd has certainly lost a bit of his image after his confession, but it seems most people have already forgotten.
BTW isn't Ibarguren OPQS's team doctor? So how big is the chance that Boonen's clean, then?

Fuck that, the UK changed the fucking rules of the world so our ex-dopers could return to the olympics... That is how little we really care

Don't worry, we cover up irregularities for 2 years and then reveal after, not even saying everything about it. |

Hardly surprising, but Rasmussen claims that the entire Rabobank team at the 2007 Tour de France was doped - Menchov, Boogerd, De Groot, Dekker, Flecha, Freire, Niermann, Weening |

Just spent the night quick-reading Michael Rasmussen's book. If you were hoping for more stuff a la Hesjedal, you're in for a disappointment.
Dekker, Boogerd, Leinders are probably the most mentioned names when it comes to doping. Hardly anything surprising. We already knew about the most damning stuff. |
