Hello M. Director,
I would like to know what will be my race calendar for the first part of the season. I would really like to taste the cobbles.

Aaron Arblaster is happy for his new manager to make decisions on his schedule for Part 1. He believes there will be more TT opportunities for him later in the season.

Ciclotour, the biggest magazine for cycling fans in Romania will pass as for this month at a weekly issue, that’s four times more cycling news and more interviews, more analyses and more cycling material for you.
As you all know, starting 2013 Romania will have 2 riders in the top cycling world. Petre Lixandru, the new cobble master and Oreste Ghita, the future star of stage races, will ride for Cofidis, respectively Argos Shimano. They will have periodically a page in our magazine, where they will write their thoughts and impressions from the top cycling world.
In order to inaugurate this column, we will publish a face-to-face interview with both of them. Starting next issue, each one will have to deal with his own editorial space.
So, let’s meet the future star of Romanian (and maybe world) cycling world.
Petre Lixandru | Oreste Ghita | | | Age | 20 | 23 | Place of birth | Iasi | Barlad | First time on a bike | I was born on it (laughs). My parents have both connections with the cycling world, so it was at an early age. I don't remember when, I always had a bike. | I was 5, I think. | Idol | Roger De Vlaeminck | Bernard Hinault | Dream race | Paris - Roubaix | Tour de France | Favorite weather | I don't really have any | sunny, dry | Hated weather | heat | rain | Superstitions before or after race | None | I avoid answering to any phone before the race | First memory of an international cycling event | In 2000, Andrei Tchmil winning Tour de Flandres - I saw it at TV, TV 5 Monde, I think | 19 July 1996, at Bordeaux, Frédéric Moncassin winning at sprint the 19th stage of Tour de France. I was with my parent on holyday in Aquitaine, so we took advantage to see the arrival at Bordeaux | Had you more offers at the start of the season ? | Yes | Yes | Why did you chose that team | They gave me a leader role on all cobble races | I know personally some riders from the team | Main goals for this season ? | TOP 10 in Tirreno-Adriatico and Vuelta and at least 1 stage win | TOP 10 in Tour de Flandres and Paris - Roubaix | If you would have to put a road from Romania in the UCI calendar | Transfagarasan | Transfagarasan |

Cobbles start for Cofidis
The cobbled classics started this weekend with the Omloop and K-B-K. The team had good performances from Petre Lixandru and Romain Zingle. Petre took 13th in the Omloop, and Romain finished 15th in K-B-K. The team's first WT race of the season, Paris-Nice, will start soon. The sponsor expects a stage win.

Hey guys,
today I saw the official startlist of Paris-Nice. And I have to say that I am slightly pissed off. When you look at a startlist than the best rider of a team has to get the lowest number which is in our case No.191. And then I look at this startlist, then I got number 198. Not what I like to see...
I mean the rider who is told to be our leader can climb decently. But only one climb a day and then he is tired And I never ever saw him attacking. How does he want to win a stage without atttacking?
This time i will follow the instructions given to me and help my "leader" but if he does not achieve a top 10 result i want to hear a public "pardon" from the DS.
Too bad that this race suits me that good...

Here I am in Paris, waiting for the start of Paris - Nice, which I'm incredibly excited about. It starts with a prologue, which I might be able to get a good result in as there's no Martin, Cancellara, Wiggins, Phinney or any of the top prologue riders here, so anything is possible I guess.
I've had a slow start to the season, just having a helping role in Marseillaise in January but my season really starts here. After the prologue, it looks like we'll be free to go on the attack, so I'll probably be left to help our leader De La Montagne, who will need all the help he can get to be anywhere near the top ten but our main hope is of course a stage win. We also have Taaramae and Navarro, so we'll certainly be aggressive when the road goes uphill.
I'm also glad to be rooming with another Brit, which I definitely didn't expect when I signed for Cofidis. Aaron Arblaster is his name, another time-triallist, though he's quite a bit younger than me and I think the boss just wanted to get him some experience and maybe keep me happy! I think he might struggle here but hopefully I can look after him.
Allez Cofidis!

Hey guys,
just had to do my first doping test as professional cyclist. This sucks. It is so boring and you can't prepare yourself for the important passages of the next stage in this time. (And I missed my massage.) After the crash of my team mates Jordan (I feel so sorry for you. I hope you did not hurt yourself there so that you can help me achieving a good result here. You're a fantastic addition to every team) and Spaniard Navarro (please watch out better next time so that you don't ride into his rear wheel). Today, we wanted to try something so we wanted to send our strongest man into the break. Unfortunatelly, I was too much of a danger for them (what a surprise...) so they did not let me go. After the second try I decided to stay in the peleton and swing my balls there.
Hopefully, the next days are getting better...

First World Tour Win for Cofidis
Daniel Navarro took the French Team Cofidis's first win of the year in stage 7 of Paris-Nice. The Spaniard took the win from a long-range attack with 33 km to go. He then beat Ulissi, Peeters, Izagirre and Ten Dam in a group sprint for the win.

Well, it's been a long time since my last update, mainly because I've been busy racing! Anyway, the first part of my season is over, spending all of it in France, which is to be expected riding for a French team I suppose.
Paris - Nice
So, Paris - Nice. It started incredibly with a short prologue, where only Chavanel and Kwiatkowski could beat me. I even beat Froomedog ( ) and took a podium finish on my WorldTour debut! That also meant I'd be wearing the white jersey on the first road stage, which meant I got to start right at the front of the peloton. Unfortunately, the day went downhill from there, both for me and the team.
I bloody crashed, didn't I?! And took Dani Navarro down with me. I was just coming round a corner and the back wheel went from under me and Navarro just couldn't avoid me, as he was sitting on my wheel. Aaron stayed back to help me and Dani but it was far too late and the jersey was gone.
The rest of the race was pretty ordinary for us. A failed breakaway attempt here, a shoddy performance there. Until stage seven. Navarro was unleashed and as he reached the line with a small group, he suddenly thought he was a sprinter and won the stage, showing the jersey to the world. And rescuing our race.
The final TT, up Col d'Eze wasn't great but I did beat Taaramae, which was nice. The overall was a write-off but it was a great experience to ride this legendary race.
Critérium International
Next up was another stage race in France, well Corsica to be precise, Critérium International. And, again, there was a short time trial to tackle. This time, I was only fourth but still a good result for a neo-pro, beating the likes of Dowsett and Durbridge.
And on the final stage, I did everything I could to help the climbers, again wearing a white jersey, until I could hang on no more with 40km to go. The pace was INSANE! Still, Basso and Gadret were dropped with me so it wasn't that bad. My hard work was rewarded as De La Montagne finished third on the stage to take sixth overall. Good job Pierre! I led home a group containing two of my team mates, Le Mevel and Schwabe to finish in the top 25 overall, which I'm happy with.
And that's that. Part 1 of my season done and dusted. Now, I have to wait for the boss to tell us what races we'll be doing in the next part. The race that really catches my eye in this part is the Dauphiné but there's a long way until that. I guess it depends what races we're actually doing. Maybe Romandie? Who knows?
Well, I'm sure I'll find out soon and I'll speak to you not long after that.

Continental Championships
Hey coach,
i already looked at the profile of the continental championship and i have to say i like it somehow. I may not be in top shape there but i think im the team's best option to get a podium. Thus, I should get total leadership in Valkenburg. I hope that you can give me the maximum amount of domestiques making the race hard for my opponents. Therefore, i would like to get support from Pierre De la Montagne, Peter Lizarazu, Jordan Birdless, Daniel Navarro, Jerome Couple, Rhein Taaramae, Yohan Baguette and Romain Single.
They should make the race that hard that most of the less strong climbers fall behind on the first 2/3 of the race. If they can manage to minize the peleton to maybe 15 riders I should normally be able to get a Top 5 for the team.
I hope you agree with me,
Thomas Schwabe

Hey Boss,
I was just wondering, like Thomas, whether we are entering these Continental Championships like the other teams are?
I would be happy to ride the road race as support for whoever our leader is but wouldn't be too disappointed to miss out.
I'm more interested in the ITT of course and reckon if I have a good day I could even get a top ten.

Hey Jordan,
i want to thank you that you want to support me in the Champs. Noone is able to win without the right support and therefore, I need good domestiques like you. I really appreciate every help i can get.
In return, I could give you some crucial information about the TT course between my finish and your start. ( I should start before you as you are at least on the paper the better TTist ) . I assume I will make the double start as we don't have that many good time triallist, have we?
Thomas

I need to say thank you for the chief to selecting me to the Continental Championship squad, maybe witth a late attack or breakaway i can do som surprise.
