Yes, but you cant go over the custom rider limit (2 for WT teams, 6 for CT teams). SO its not about i kick 8 domestique and sign 8 OP custom riders |

still think that it is broken. CT teams with a lot of riders can abuse that

Maybe you are right. With 6 OP riders the CT teams can go mad. Maybe a little rule thats allow the 6 riders, but no more then two age 23 riders balance this thing. But its up to Ollfardh. Anyway, Luigi, you have a CT team isnt it? SIgn that 6 OP riders and kick our WT ass |

The 2 and 6 made for a massive imbalance regardless of initial squad strength. Take Novo Nordisk, sign Pal, Hanzen, Kim, Sithembile, Oget and Hinault. You can actually then win almost any WT race as Novo! Then you add in the teams with genuine strength any way (Europcar, IAM, MTN etc.) and wow you end up with a massively unbalanced world. Europcar will be on a similar level to BMC if they signed 6 21-23 year olds.
I guess it was designed for 18-20 year olds to get a space, but come on that was not going to happen. 6 77+ guys of 2 and 4 sh*tters, i know what i would pick.
I had to pick a WT team to stop myself doing that (wrote down Europcar about 5 times before finally posting)

I was aiming to make the differences smaller with this, so CT teams have the numbers and quality to compete at a decent level. For teams like Europcar it might be a bit over the top though.

Done and done! Belkin has signed Jorge Cristobal Riquelme. Jorge will lead the Ardennes squad. We believe he is capable of getting a few nice wins, as he's one of the few guys with a decent sprint after a hard race.

After some tough overnight negotiations with the UCI, Belkin got the calendar they wanted. Belkin has signed up fo rmore races than any other team, hoping to get an early lead in the classifications by spending quite some racedays at the start of the season.

Rick Flens misses first training
Bad news from Belkins training camp this morning, after all riders arrived, it became clear Rick Flens was missing. No one seems to know where he is. Team manager Jos Vermaelen was obviously not pleased with the absence.

Gabon startlist announced
Our first race of the season, La Tropical Amissa Bongo (better known as Tour de Gabon) will start soon. It's the start of a busy January month where we will also ride Tour de San Luis, Santos Tour Down Under and GP La Marseillaise. Then we'll take a small break before we rejoin the racing at the Belgian opening weekend. With a busy calendar, we want to be on top of the rankings at the season start.
In Gabon, there's only one important man: our lead sprinter Willem Brouwer. The rest of the team will be there to support him. We feel he can win this race and pick up a few
stage wins along the way. Our team is pretty strong, but since it's our only chance to win an African race, we thought we'd go for it. So here's the team going for the win in Gabon:
Jetse Bol
Willem Brouwer
Moreno Hofland
Paul Martens
Sep Vanmarcke
Dennis Van Winden
Robert Wagner
Maarten Wynants

Belkin Training Camp results
After returning from the training camp, an external agency made up some numbers of what our riders are worth at the moment.
We have the following remarks:
- Vanmarcke is definitely a better sprinter, slightly better cobbler
- LLS is a better climber
- Gesink is a better climber
- Kruijswijk should also be a better stage racer
- Leezer is definitely faster
- Brown ain't that old
- Tankink, Bobridge and Bol should be better in general
Rick Flens got rated as well, even though he didn't show up for the training camp. He was fired this morning.

Willem Brouwer en Jorge Cristobal Riquelme schedules
Here are the schedules for our two young talents:
Willem Brouwer
CT.5 Tour de Gabon [14–20 January]
CT.6 GP La Marseillaise [27 January]
CT.5 Clasica Almeria [24 February]
CT.5 Strade Bianche [2 March]
WT.3 Paris-Nice [3 – 10 March]
WT.1 Milan-San Remo [17 March]
CT.6 Volta Limburg Classic [30 March]
Willem will start the season immediatly in Gabon, hoping for some good results there. We expect classics as La Marseillaise, Classica Almeria and Strade Bianche are made for him as well. We hope Paris-Nice will prepare him for Milan-San Remo, he should really like that race. Finaly, the Volta Limburg Classic will give him a chance to score on our home ground. That's a total of 20 race days early on, but we feel he's up for that.
Jorge Cristobal Riquelme
WT.4 Tour Down Under [22 – 27 January]
CT.5 Strade Bianche [2 March]
WT.1 Milan-San Remo [17 March]
WT.4 Volta a Catalunya [18 – 24 March]
CT.6 GP Indurain [30 March]
Jorge will start in Australia, he should like Willunga Hill. In Strade Bianchi and Milan-San Remo his puching skills can get him very far. The Volta a Catalunya also has a few finishes he likes, while the GP Indurain is a classic he's definitely capable of winning. Only 16 race days for him, as we expect him mostly for the Ardennes and fall classics later this year.

Belkin opens with a win
Great news from Africa, where Willem Brouwer won the first stage in Gabon. After great work from Sep Vanmarcke and Paul Martens to keep our team leader at the front, all attackers including race favourite Delfi Cervero were brought back, we were settling for a mass sprint with the fastest man of the pack in our team.
And then Willem Brouwer did what we hired him for: winning races. With a powerful sprint he defeated Gavazzi with a bike length, with Cervero claiming 3rd.
Of course Brouwer also takes the leader, points and youth jersey. We hope to keep all 3 of those until the end of the race, but the first bottle of champagne will be opened tonight!

Some bad luck
The team worked great for Willem Brouwer today, but unfortunately he was blocked in by Felline in the sprint. He managed to take a 5th place, but unfortunately it cost us the jersey. We'll get it back tomorrow though!

Miscommunication
As the saying goes, a picture says a thousand words. This one clearly shows how our riders got confused and were defeated by a strong Delfosse. A second, a third and a fifth place is what we got today. Though the good news is, we take back the leader jersey!
