I can do any song at 100% in medium easily. in hard mode I suck. something to do with having to move my hand aside for the fifth fret...

The saddest part is I used to play guitar once upon a time...

Ditto. Medium is too easy for me, and hard is barely too hard for me.

Yeah it's pretty good, some of the timings are different to in the song, but it still sounds allrightWink

Unfortunately, whenever I hear that song I think of this version they played on Radio 1:lol:

It's funny yet disturbing at the same timePfftWink

My first selfproduced song. It's no way near done, but this is the first take. With different recordings and mixing it could end up decent I think. What do you guys think?

For you on Myspace:

For you who are not, it can be downloaded here:

I can't stress enough that it is first take, so it's no way near the final edition :-)

For someone who's so much of a twat on here, you actually make fairly good music. Some constructive criticism if you like it (or you can just ignore it), it sounds to me like you are almost trying to fit one too many strums into one of the bars. I think it might sound better if you just slowed it down just a little so it doesnt sound as rushed.
Keep it up.

Hehe thanks man... Yeah we don't get too much along, but nice words... Constructive criticism is always welcome, otherwise I don't move anywhere...

When is it I put too many strums down? Just so I know what you mean... By strums you mean sounds made my the guitar I suppose, and not chords. I will definately look into it, though I can't really see where to slow down. Atleast not before I get any other instruments in. It tends to be a bit much of me when it's only the guitar if I don't strum it methodically.

Is it all throughout the song or is it in specific periods?

It's hard to explain where exactly. At about 1:15, but that particular time it's quite smooth. I suppose it isn't that there are too many strums, but rather the chord changes aren't as smooth as they could be when perfect.
I suppose the only thing that can make it better is with practice to get those chord changes spot on. Because I play guitar too, I can tell from listening the slight pauses when you're changing to an awkward chord.
As the saying goes, practice makes perfect.

Ahh okay, yeah I can hear that. It was an attempt to make a different type of strum but it totally screwed up Grin. Yeah but as said it's my first take, so it will probably be better when I record the guitar seperately I would imagine...

I hope I can record the guitar seperately and then try with 4 layers of sing and tune in whatever is best at the different sectors. Then I need some small keyboard/piano part to make it cool I think, and obviously some light drums and bass to give the musically edge :-)

wackojackohighcliffe
its a good basic acoustic song although would sound a helluva lot better with singing

and i agree with rjc chord changes are a little rough - but practice makes perfect

if singing is not added some lead licks would be good if you are capable(no offence)
