This man is going to protect he's TdF win...again.
First day prologue.
We have nice clean standing situation. today we have a first look at favorites. For Carrera team..Pantani is just trying to limit he's time gap minimum..and keep clear for crashes at Tour first week.
Festina star..and french big hope Virenque is first at the favorites on the track. Nothing special at the end 26th. and ´+37 sec. down.)
Rominger..damn that man is fast he takes a lead..at the end 3rd. and +8sec.
Main favorite Indurain..he is great as expected..he beats Rominger time with 1 sec . and takes a lead. Race isnt over yet.
Lampre hope Tonkov 13. +27sec.
Young italian rising star Pantani..he is actualy better then I was expecting not bad at all..19. +33sec. normal start
Lemond..many specialist had sayd that he's best days are over allready..today 32. +41.
Young Jan...this man looks like child. Today 12. +26sec. great start. Telekom biggest hope is still sprinters duo Zabel and Ludwig.
Chiapucci..10. +25. There is nice inside competition between Chiapucci and Pantani..there is no 100% quarante whoś gonna be team captain. Let the race decide.
Another great rider Zulle..4th. +10sec.
Boardman (ten points to SN)..he wins open stage.

Its a realistic db then, since Boardman really did win the 1994 prologue in real life
Good TTs by your leaders, although I suspect you arent much looking forward to the TTT

Seems from the pictures that it's the 2007 course, so no such trouble
however, the mountains aren't as difficult, so a podium is probably the most he can aim for. With Pantani, as Chiapucci really shouldn't be up for it. He wasn't anywhere near good enough by 1994

Stage 2
First real stage..that will be fun. i has one week to get confort to manage all this new names and shirts system. What we can expect today..first sprint. Many great names Jalabert, Abduchaparov, Cippo, Ludwig, van Poppel, Zabel. I have to built my sprint hope for Traversoni.
Terrible start for Kelme Cubino falls when we have 60km. to go..all team comes back to help their climber to get back to the peloton..all or nothing move. This is gonna be hard chase..because tempo is already realy high.
Under 20km. to go and we have starting to get answers right away at the first stage..Gan leader and multiple tour winner Lemond just cant follow the main group at in the flat stage. Critics was right about his form...Now we can count one possible surprise ..or great come back winner out.
Few km. later Cubino cant follow anymore..and there isnt any helpers left..big chase has taken to much energy. Probably this means ;we can count Kelme out.
What a moment 15 km. to go and Bruyneel atacks...he get 15sec. advantage..but now way he can keep it this way. This stage will be decided with mass sprint. All the favorites moving forward..they all there
TVM duo Jeroen Blijlevens and Jesper Skibby will open the sprint..Jalabert and Lombardi just waiting he's moment. Then Lombardi atacks..he goś middle of two TVM riders..great move Jalabert has to go around. Cippo and Abduchaparov is a little to behind...they missed it this time. My only hope Traversoni is also there..he doesnt feel superb today..but he will fight.
Cippo and Abduchaparov comes..they moving fast. Now I can see who is realy fastest man on the road..but to late. I have to be proud for Traversoni he is fighting with Ludwig.
Lampre and Lombardi..great one. Is there any rider whoś gonna take over Boardman yellow before mountains? Jalabert is closest one
For Lampre some bad news also..go leader, great climber Belli find this stage to be few km to long. He will loose 3´33.

Stage 3
Sprinters...everyone was expecting that Lion King and Abduchaparov will make some correction in sprint point standing. but there was happening even one bigger mather wich will affect on tour final results.
When sprinters start a looking great position for sprint something terrible happens hugh mass crash. I was starting to look Pantani ..he survived. But many of favorites are down. Luttermberger is lightly injured Carrera rider after crash.
Traversoni start early to look best sprint position..he was trying to keep close to Abduchaparov and Ludwig. But other rider pushing him away at this line..then great a good surprise..Mercatone Uno duo coming at behind Fagnini was pulling Cippo to great position and Traversoni was fastest he has best place what he can get ..just behind Cippo. Cippo has won the sprint, takes point jersey and has come much closer for yellow ..Traversoni 5th. This was best what he was able to get.Team can be satified
First bad news for Mapei Rominger one of best helpers at the mountains Govanetti..has crashed so hard that he should stop he's tour.
Hugh group crossing the line 2'20 later and there is many podium candidates.

Stage 4
One of the tour longest stages 236 km....early breakaway attempt riders will just murder himself at this stage.
Yesterday crashed Carrera jeans Luttenberger cant follow race speed today. I still keep him in the race..lets hope that he will finish inside time limit. If he will get better..I have perfect rider for breakaway attempt.
Prepearing for final sprint..TVM Pisoni Kit team are again building for Jeroen Blijlevens...they moving realy fast. This is one and only train to be. Traversoni doesnt feel good today at all..he ask for Zberg to be he's support rider up there. Zberg doing great job..but Traversoni just cant follow today..he is out of the sprint battle today.
Here they go..we can find today's winner at this train. Skibby pulling Blijlevens..and then main favorites Jalabert, Zanini, Lombardi, Cippolini, Abduchaparov, Ferrigato and Ludwig. Now Zberg has difficulty to follow. Jalabert turbo..he passes two TVM riders. Cippo is a little boxed..Abduchaparov taking he's own clean line..like he has done every sprint so far.
Jalabert takes stage win a will also change he's once yellow with tour leader jersey. Boardman days in yellow are over. In protocol we can find that sprint stars was going very fast they got even a little time gap between main group.

Stage 5
After yesterday dissapoitment Traversoni would like to correct few things..and get back in top 10 sprinters list.
wow..technical problem ..Traversoni will drop off at the main group. We dont need this..Kuum and Simeoni got mission to do. They wait Traversoni and trying to drag Carrera Jeans sprinter back to his position. Looks good..good call, and great job Traversoni is back in peloton.
Traversoni looking for sprint place..he is with Jalabert. But they both seems to be to far at the peak. This is also Traversoni biggest weakness..he just cant choose best train, just once has he been lucky..Telekom planning something today. TVM boys who has created two nice team sprint is off today.
Zabel with Ludwig. Telekom managment demand's stage win..Ludwig has been biggest dissapoitment for all favorites sprinters so far..maybe today. But he should wach out Abduchaparov and Cippo is right behind him.
Not today for Telekom Abduchaparov collects the win. We have so far every day different sprint winner...we cant give out sprint king title yet. Traversoni 11. nothing super ..but this is ok..after puncture and come back.
Still lot to observe before mountains..nice close sprint points battle is on the run

Stage 6
Warm up before last sprint stage and mountains.
Luttenberger..has to stop this tour. He hasnt recovered at all at crash...he is first man who cant follow speed..and there is over 120km. to go. Team decided to end austrian rider suffering. Tour leader Jalabert had some small technical problem..Once team wait he's leader and he can easily back to the group.
Today will be intresting to see who will drop off at the group..sprinters at first with Abduzhaparov and Ludwig. Sprinters make hugh 46 rider. group. Young Jan with Boardman. Boardman ok..but if Ullrich cant follow this is a little surprise. Germans talk a lot about this new promising rider...but Jan should start listening team manager's , that 1994 TdF is just to early for such a young rider. He will get good lesson today
Pantani with he's support team Pulnikov and Chiapucci (who looks on those hills even better at Pantani) looks great...this is good trio for mountain stages.
Sprint starts Zanini opens..Pantani is front there looking he's chanches. But there is over 100 riders still in the group..and to many better sprinters, he gives up.
Strong long sprint for Zanini..stage win. Still..we have done 6 stages and also 6 different winners.

Stage 7
Last sprint stages before Alps..
Big..bang crash for Heppner..he was upthere pulling main group when he hits the ground. Happy accident , other riders all avoided to join with him.
Rebellin who had lost he's mountain jersey yesterday is again in breakaway group...and collecting climber jersey points.
End is near..10km. to go..Traversoni finds nice place at Abduzhaparov back wheel..
Jalabert bad luck conitnous..yesterday he had tehnical problem..today he crashes and points situation with Cippo and Abduzhaparov going to look much worse..tomorrow will probably loose he's leader jersey.
Here they come out at the last corner..Cippo (in green), Abduzhaparov,Skyby, Zanini.Traversoni..looks good..best result so far?
Last metres..Clearly to best sprinters at 1994 TdF Cippo and Abduzhaparov separates rest of the sprinters..this is gonna be close one.
Abduzhaparov ..he takes second stage win. Cippolini keeps he's green, there is just 2 points separating those two strong sprinters. We should see this battle continoues after mountains.Traversoni 3rd. I would say exelent. Ludwig 7th...he has been still biggest sprint dissapoitment so far.
Bad news for De Las Cuevas (Costorama)..strong climber has health problems and he stops the tour just one day before mountains...
