But who will the big sponsors be... The 6mil is from Alonso's backers, so will they become the names? Id expect so which could be quite cool and bring in several new to cycling sponsors.
And Contador will deffo move over as soon as he gets a chance, with them being best buds and alll

Alonso will obviously not have any position in the team.
He has neither the time nor the knowledge (and would cause massive friction like he always does when he doesn't get his way with something)
The preceding post is ISSO 9001 certified

Erm, what ?!
By the way, will this be XXX (team name) powered by Ferrari ? They could become some fantastic climbers again. |

I doubt it will be Ferrarri. I've heard lots about regional riders and nothing about Italian ones.
6mil from sponsors means it will be Santander. He might be able to get better deals with aux sponsors too, tyre manufacturers generally do cars and bicycles, same with oils and other stuff.
I still think the UCI need to bring in a new rule though. That is that at all WT events this team is present at, Alonso has to drive his F1 Ferrarri as the team car.
Imagine getting a sticky bottle from that! |

I think it was more a Michele joke...
Good news in any case, cycling needs all the money it can get, pretty much wherever it comes from. |

Well, at least 1 team has a driver (I hope) who can follow the team while dodging people and animals...with 1 hand. Then again, he may just drive at say 100+km/m an hour and wait for the team at the finish...and get cheap face time on tv and such while he waits.
Edit: Contador rides what frame? And correct me if Im wrong, but they happen to have a McLaren frame....interesting

I've read somewher that Alonso's team will be called Banca Santander. Contador is already linked to the team.

Good to see another team surviving. When footballers get bought and sold for 100 million, it's quite the difference |
