Hehe, sure looks like it. A train seems equally important as a strong sprinter to finish off the work. Otherwise sprints get kinda random.

Brilliant team tactics there. Making sure Boasson Hagen was in a good position before Impey went for the stage win himself
Great to see Impey snatch 2nd, no doubts Rowe was stronger than him. Congrats to rjc!
Good to see Boasson Hagen being that close to the front, hopefully it's a good sign of what's to come on stage 3 and 4. Really looking forward to those! |

Ha, Granjel Cabrera was in the best position on the first stage and ends up 7th; was in the worst position on the second stage and ends up 4th. What's the logic in that?

It is strange how there was only one sprint train in that second stage, there was no wind or anything like that. Mohs lost Holloways wheel and that ruined Swift and Guerao's plan. Neither showed that much speed.
Mohs has been very poor this far in the sprints, has he done anything this year?

Interesting couple of sprints, glad to see my guys active in the breaks and getting some KOM points.
Now the hills and I agree with SN, can't see the likes of Swift as a GC threat with stage 4 looming.

Thanks!
What a pleasant surprise! Luke Rowe, back to winning ways! Did I see him get a helping hand getting in to position by *shock horror* a teammate!? That'll be a first too! |

Pichon did well to take some seconds although he is clearly not strong enough to do anything noteworthy in the end. I can only hope he will try to attack again in the other hilly stages.

That was terrible from our team. Boasson Hagen must be much more active, and I hope to see him initiate moves on stage 4. If he's just going to sit tight, we'll get nothing from this race thinking of the overall classification.
Excellent win for Milka-AVG though, Rabon could very well have secured the GC too right there. Congrats! |

Seemed like a somewhat pointless stage to have even been bothered to have been raced. Nothing much happened. |

Wow, really unexpected win for Rabon, fantastic! Thanks to AI for that.

Thanks, but I don't think this will be enough for Rabon to at least stay in top 10. It would be absolutely brilliant if he would though.

You should be extremely dissapointed not to get a top 10 I think.
These riders are the only ones capable of beating him, albeit half of them are equal to or worse than Rabon:
Edvald Boasson Hagen
Jan Bakelants
Tejay van Garderen
Stefan Schumacher
Philippe Gilbert
Diego Ulissi
Anthony Roux
Cesare Di Maggio
Dmitriy Claeys
Robin van der Hugenhaben
Jelle Vanendert
Rasmus Guldhammer
I can see Rabon finishing this race anywhere from 1st to 6th, but less than that will be hugely dissapointing looking at the face that there's only 2 hilly stages left, and he has the all-powering yellow jersey.
I can only hope that Diego Ulissi will do well on the final hilly stages, and Pichon can hopefully attack again, and that way around avoiding loosing too much time.

Well, looking how silly PCM is, I'll say Rabon has this. |

Good to see Van Garderen jump away, and have to agree that Rabon has a very good chance at taking the overall.

Rabon in a nice position, something drastic has to happen on the final stage to change this outcome. Hagen taking a stage is nice for the home crowd.
