Anyhow, great team choice, I know your passion for Eastern countries, so motivation should be there. Especially small team size should help too, make it more pacy and not too long WT or PCT season racing wise, and after you get a year in, I think you'll be willing to continue for much longer, it's getting there in first months of the season most of the time that might cause problems, but I believe you can do it, and while doing so - create a great story
You wished me luck for David Veilleux, by far my most successful story. So I think you can here
Thanks! I didn't mention this, but I also want to expand the team a bit. Maybe a few Slovakians, Polish riders, Austrians or Slovenians. I want to keep about 80% of the team Czech though.
That was my thinking as well. Its easier to plan, and usually only having 1 race on at a time should be nice. I hope you are right, some of what you say is part of the reason I chose this team of NetApp who would have a very full calendar

Light you mean? I'd say it's a very light calendar, not more than a couple of kilograms. |

@ All - Yeah, I tried signing up for a few more races in Serbia and a few others as well, but no one wanted us, however I was able to grab a few more races in the later portions of the year. This is by far the lightest few months of the season btw. Thanks once again everyone!
Trofeo Porec 1.2
March 10th, 2013
We've got the first race of the season now, and its looking like it will be a tough field, with riders like Enrico Rossi, Ivan Stevic, Fred Rodriguez and many more capable sprinters! We've brough Krotky, Kopecky and a host of riders to support them, as we aim for a good result to start off the season. It wont be easy as the form isn't quite there for the riders yet.
The action got away to a slow start, but eventually a group of 6 riders broke free and formed the breakaway of the day. As a sprinters classic, they stood little chance of staying clear, but inside the final 5km they had a gap of 36 seconds, so they were in with a shot. Thanks to the great pulls from Radovan Dolezal and Holub, the escapee's were brought back just in time for the sprint!
Fast Freddy as he is known, started the sprint in the strong headwind. With a corner inside the final 400m, it could have been a smart tactic by him, but those starting behind him had more cover in the wind and seemed to be making it up to him. Krotky our sprinter looked to be in great position, but he was boxed in by a breakaway rider and a team-mate on Jelly Belly who was dropping back. We had a word with the officials, but nothing we could do about it even though it seemed like they were intentionally getting in the way. Thankfully we had Kopecky well placed as well, and he had found a great wheel to follow in Carvalho.
Rodriguez seemed to lose all his steam after the turn, and Senechal of Etixx had a great burst of speed to take the win by a commanding margin! Kopecky was able to sneak into 5th place, a great way to begin the season for us, while Krotky ended in 11th, just outside of the Top 10

Yep. I was just happy that Kopecky was there. Krotky had a +5 as well
And apologies for the lack of startlist. Gotta get back into the swing of things.

First of all, I love to see that someone is making a story about czech team.
And it looks like you used stats I made for FCD but little bit editted. (Like hills of Nesveda, who has 83 kiilograms should be about 63 ) Anyway, good luck. |

@ Jesleyh - Thank you!
@ Admir - You're right, fixed right away. They look similar in the miniflag's.
@ Valor - Thank you! And you are right, I edited a few guys. I mostly lowered a few guys sprint since compared to others with similar stats they had a lot less results to show that they were sprinters, and made Hunal a little bit better overall. I dont remember changing Nesveda's HIL stat, but if I did, I dont know where I got 69 from, since he's got no results to show he deserves that Im going to edit it to a 66.

I can send you a file with actual stats I made for FCD, based on personal knowledge of those riders. But I don't really know how much they editted for FCD.
I think it will do no harm, you can just take a look at it. I spent a lot of time while doing it and questioned several pros.
So for example Nesveda is know to be unbeatable in sprints on shorter races but gets dropped every time there is a hill or race is longer than 80 kms.
Medek is good cyclocross rider and so his bike handling skills are generally far better than most second grade pros.
Tomas Okrouhlicky has MASSIVE horse power, but somehow lacks ability to steer and use lighter gears. etc.
I can write lot more if it helps

Sure, like you say, it does no harm I knew Okrouhlicky had a big engine, but didn't know he had bad handling f.e.
Hunal rides Mountain Bike as well doesn't he?

The thing is, that you are most likely to know riders only from UCI races, whereas I compared their results also from crit series, czech cup etc. (I don't want to boast, but I don't think you follow every wednesday's Giant League in Plzen)
I don't know anyhing about Hunal riding MTB
Well, Okrouhlicky isn't that bad in bike handling but is likely to lost in hard descents...65 downhill is accurate

Okay, I think we actually agree on a lot of riders I remember editing Vakoc's stats and they are now similar to what you suggested. I also told them to boost Konig's Mountain as I think its a 74 what they gave him, but you and I both think it should be higher .
Kopecky had 73 SPR which must have been a typo, and everyone else on Sparta Praha are similar to what I gave I think

@ HuDCC - Thanks a lot! Glad to have another follower
Gran Premio San Giuseppe 1.2
March 17th, 2013
So now here we are at the 2nd race of the year, and were in Italy! Its a little tougher field than last time, and the gradient on the circuit we are riding is pretty high, so I dont expect all riders to make it to the end in the same group. We've brought Hunal to his first race of the season, to build form for May where we will race the An Post Ras and race 2 important classics in Estonia which are 1.1 so give out more Conti Points.
Startlist
As you can see with the startlist Bardiani are seen with the strongest team, with riders like Battaglin and Colbrelli who both have a good shot at winning today. We meet Ivan Stevic again, who should be a favourite. Oddly enough, Huon Salmon are registered as a Spanish Team.
We start off the action with a breakaway of 4 riders, who will be the head of the race for most of the day. Medek is able to represent the team today, but the breakaway was only given a gap of 4 minutes, so you know with a gap that small they are just out in front for the media exposure.
On the 2nd last lap of the day, just as the descent starts, the peloton really gets it into gear to bring back the breakaway who are now only 1 minute ahead. Medek had a bit of trouble staying with the break in the final 1/3 of the stage, so he had already dropped back at this point, being more useful as a team-mate to Krotky.
Now as we hit the last descent at about 6km to go, Martin Hunal makes a move to get to the front. After a close look at the profile the gradient turns way up for a few hundred metres the perfect place to make an attack, which Hunal does. Hunal gets a small gap, but it leaves the rest of the peloton in chaos as they must decide how they are going to bring him back.
But, the chasers cant catch Hunal, who will be celebrating a massive victory with his team-mates after this one! That was just a perfectly executed move, using the profile to his advantage. Most expected it to go to the sprinters that were left in the front group, but Hunal surprised them all! Colbrelli will be mad at himself as the gap was probably bridgeable sooner, and if he had done so he would likely have won!
