Looks like i will have to move to Holland. When I raced in Belgium (many years ago) there was an incredible enthusiasm for the sport, even at amateur level.
In Britain there are only 3 people who actually like cycling so there is no point in televising it and the Tour de France is a rather odd fopreign event which is given a little begrudging coverage as it is the biggest sporting event in the world, even though nobody will watch it.
At least I am sure thats what the Television companies think. |

I checked the cycling tv schedule, and its the first stage is scheduled for 7 pm GMT on 22nd January.
Tour of Qatar fans may also wish to know that cycling.tv will have some form of coverage starting at 10 am (GMT) on the 27th, although you may have to be a premium subscriber
