I got: around 170€
3 scarfs (weird thing)
1 game por PS2 (Buzz: The Hollywood Quiz)
1 brand new pair of Adidas-Goodyean footwear (brown and blue: superb)
A whole bunch of sweat-shirts and pants which come from London (very nice sweats, I love when my aunt brings it)
And what I bought to myself: PS3 60gb Starter Pack and PES08 to the same platform...
What I gave: It's better not to tell...

Right, ill mention the exciting stuff and leave out some boring and uninteresting stuff.
My ISP gave me a 100% increase to intarrweb speed. Of course they also gave me a four hour long total breakdown of service tonight.
To satiate computeral needs: Heavenly Sword for PS3 and a fancy-nifty book called "Beginning With OpenGL". And you of course must know what OpenGL!
Led Zeppelin's Mothership deluxe edition with concert DVD
And my sister gave me a new cheap black wooly jacket-like thing. Apparently she's hinting that i cant walk around in my old one anyone since its two or three years old and got a hole in both elbows
And for myself i got Team Fortress 2. Well, early christmas gift anyhoo since i bought it back in late November
That said, we had a contest of sorts today at another christmas-family-come-together-thing, a contest which name i dont know, but involves a six-sided dice, plenty of small gifts, the presence of time, and stealing gifts from each other, i won the only not-so small package in shape of a special bottle of ale. By special i mean its from a micro-brewery in Jutland. Im wondering wheter to drink it, or have standing there looking good.

In the same way that many start with learning BASIC, its an obsolete, but useful stepping stone.

not really. Scheme would be useful to learn programming skills before jumping to C or Java or Ruby. but BASIC isn't that useful
and opengl even less so.

Throw OpenGL, Pascal and Basic away and take the way of this man!

Ruby is the way forward. too bad using Rails is a bitch...and the reason I'm sitting here instead of going out now
but when you get it, it's awesome.
and to illustrate how easy Ruby is to use...
Java code:
int i;
for(i=0;i<5;i++)
System.out.println("This example is boring" );
Ruby code:
5.times print("This example is boring" )
