90° corners with roundabout 600 and 400 metres to go...dunno why ASO thought that'd be a good idea.
That just ruins the sprint. Only the first 5 or so guys will have any chance, its all due to positioning, and likely crashes behind them.
Why not just have the stage 800m shorter and end on a pretty long looking straight?

The first one is actually the inside of a roundabout, but the second one will certainly make this a clusterfuck.
4 kilometres of perfectly straight road into the finish? Naaaaahh.
If anything can be drawn from this concerning who wins (no need to discuss my preference obviously), it's probably favouring Greipel with his train. Anyone directly in his wheel might pull a Kittel though.
Having to accelerate out of that corner helps Sagan, but with three guys clearly faster than him, it'll be for second at most.

or even the finish of Paris-Tour would've been great, a nice wide-open straight road into the finish
but no, ASO just wants an inevitable crash to happen

Yeah I can't understand why they wouldn't use the Paris-Tours finish, would make for a good bunch gallop instead of tight turns which plays more to luck and creates the chance for more crashes. We all like exciting racing but ASO really need to pull there heads out of there collective arse's

Will the roundabout be off camber as well?
Google maps shows road furniture on both corners as well, but that must have been removed.

This looks like perfect technical finish for Peter, but i think he will be somewhere between places 2-4 again.
Usual trio of fast men to battle for the win. And i fear Cavendish to throw someone out again in desperate attempt to win.

Apparently strong crosswinds are being reported out on the course. Which may liven things up, depending on the direction and strength. |

Attack 1,5km from the finish has a chance here, those sprinters won't be a lot faster in the 2 turns than the attacker, to me.

I wonder when the ASO started taking advice on how to make sprint finishes from the Giro. I know people wanted to see a more varied route akin to this year's Giro, but geez ASO we did not mean the sprints .
Tomorrow is a bit better, but once again I think a few people might be wondering what the ASO were thinking once they see the route to the finish. |

Looking forward to another 3 way battle between the top tier of sprinters...or even better maybe a cheeky attack in the chaos of the finale

Both will be working for their sprinters, so I really doubt it. I wonder if someone like Boom or Westra will go for it though. Either way I don't see it working with the huge speeds we are going to see and the strong Lotto train which will presumably be up the front.

Yes, maybe not them, but I think an attack has a chance. I don't think the Lotto train can go on top-speed through the turn, while the attacker might take the risk to win, though I haven't seen a proper screenshot from the turn, so can't judge, we'll just see
@Ian I fear that it's inevitable
