Seems like the sort of stage for Voeckler.

This.

I'm thinking Voeckler too, but with 4 first category climbs, it won't be easy for him

I would say this is exactly the terrain Voeckler is best in. Not short steep hills and not the biggest mountains, up and down all day.

As I said yesterday Rolland will be the only guy who can stop Voeckler from going in the break, and he is 5 minutes down, and has a good shot at the polka dots.

Only chance for any excitement tomorrow: Riders such as Kreuziger, Contador, Quintana, etc go on long range attacks. Several of them. Several times. Force sky to use up riders early

Wouldn't admire me at all if Contador tried something Fuente De style.

Every stage is a stage for Voeckler Rolling Eyes

KOM battle will be interesting tomorrow.

Movistar, Saxobank and Belkin should work together. Quintana, Kreuziger, Rogers and Ten Dam can 'burn' Porte and then they have indeed a chance that Froome is lonely to soon and then just attack, and see if he can follow every day.

voeckler also attacked today but this attack was sooooo bad. poor effort of him. In this style he wouldnt win the KoM Jersey and an stage of the TdF

That's true. But tomorrows stage more so than other stages. The profile suits a breakaway where a good climber/decenter who also has a good punch should it come down to a sprint will probably win. All that favours Voeckler.

Froome will break clear in the first climb because he is one of few riders who actually trains properly.

I only post this comment, my first for a while, to tell everyone behind blue eyes that Froome isn't riding panaguia.

ithink that also valverde and sagan are favourites for the stage. the break will be caught and sagen could manage it to stay in the group i think. If not Valverde is a good decender and sprinter to win out of a small group . Whatr do you think?

I don't think Sagan survives, those are some tough climbs...
Valverde is a big favourite if it turns out to be a small group sprint, but I can see an attack(either Breakaway or GC favourite) win. That could be Valverde too, but can be more guys.
But an other realistic scenario is Sky reducing the group to 4 men or something, and then pace away with Froomebot.exe Wink

Btw, does your username have a link with the footballer Graziano Pèlle or not?

Edit:

On a side note, Tom Dumoulin told the Dutch media that he'll for sure attack tomorrow. But, he has a lot of pain in his back, so only if that won't continue for tomorrow Wink

I don't know why we still bother. After today, Froome will kill everything that even dares to challenge him on the mountains Pfft except Quintana, who can follow him I think Grin

Obvious breakaway stage is obvious. Aside from Voeckler, I see riders like Cunego, Velits, Albasini, etc having a good shot at this.

Would surprise me if the GC contenders do much. Richie and the dawg probably wont bother trying anything given it's not a MTF and the others are unlikely to be willing to risk too much given today's annihilation.

Sagan's chances of surviving the climbs are small, but I guess he has done shocking things before. And even if does, Cannondale wont have any riders to bring back the breakaway.

I think Gesink will give it a shot tomorrow too. Last stage before the first rest day and he saved himself today after he got caught by Quintana. Not that he has a big chance of winning though.

Hoping to see Cam Meyer or Clarke in the break chasing KOM points.

Do you think that Sky could be potentially isolated early if they ride hard. If Kennaugh didn't ride like a man possessed, don't think things would have eventuated as they did yesterday.

If a break doesn't make it then Valverde's not a bad bet but Sagan will never survive so many serious climbs in the (highly reduced) bunch. Wouldn't be surprised if he goes with a break to get intermediate points though and if he's with just the right break and keeps going after that...no not even Sagan can surprise that much surely...not for another few years yet anyway Grin

If history is repeating itself after a sky 1-2 last year came a French win, so I think Pinot or Rolland, both are far enough down on GC to be given the opportunity.

[4 cat 1s?
oh yes!

i'd like to see a team take it up early (ie Saxo) and just shread everyone, but in reality it'll be dainty racing till the last climb, then Sky will set up their train and Froome will solo down alone

valverde321
I think its clearly near impossible to beat Sky on the climbs so I hope teams realise this and make a move tomorrow. Valverde is an alright descender, one of the better ones of the riders I see in the Top 20 as far as I know, so hopefully he tries something.

jseadog1
Im going with "Another Rider" so a no name contender from the break is my guess!
