Would really like to see Cavendish win, just for the fact he has never worn the yellow jersey before |

Would love to see Goss in yellow but his back is well and truely against the wall. With so many leadout trains going every where, l think we may see a somewhat surprise winner. I'll go for Bouhanni. |

I've got a feeling someone will try to pull a fast one on the sprinters in a similar way to how Cancellara or Chavanel would, not sure if it will be successful though as it depends on who it will be.

Actually surprised at how well NBC Sports put together their "2013 Tour de France Preview" show. Although it's mostly for the ignorant Americans going to watch the Tour for the first time it slips in some nice information I didn't think they would touch upon. Hopefully this means a better live broadcast this year too. Can't wait for tomorrow!

Very surprised at how much old footage they dug up, it's really cool.

That wreck in 1951 looked harsh, and he wanted to continue the race!
Also always love the crowds taking up the whole road

Great intro, Shorts!
Though I thread per stage, isn't that a bit much? Maybe you could expand this thread to the Corsica races? I don't know |

We get up to 50 pages on one stage.

As ever tour fever hits in a way that just creeps up on me. I always say to myself the Tour will not be as exciting as other races, but still I get excited about it.
Today I have this feeling for Kittel - I shouldn't use the ZLM tour as a guide but it keeps coming back to me. I am not sure the Omega Pharma train or Lotto trains are quite up to the task.
I just see a late Degenkolb, Veelers surge and along comes Skittles.
The reward of yellow is high but punchaers may well think of stage 2 or 3 to make their move for yellow, I think they will allow it for the sprinters today.
A couple of other subplots today:
I wonder which measles wannebe will go for the 4th cat today?
Will Sagan, Cav and Gorilla go for the intermediate?
Will any of the favourites/key helpers crash?

I hope Cavendish wins, because the yellow jersey is the only thing really missing from his collection. However, Greipel and Kittel will run him close. |
