Well, very solid racing from Uran, I have to be happy with his racing and final place in the finish in a stage which a hilly rider won. Kulhavy did a good stage as well. Hopefully this will continue.

That was just absurd. I can't believe Amador lost time there while Boasson Hagen won.

Not good at all. That was on the calendar as a mountain stage. It was a hill stage. (Hill/mountain ratio of 0.28) Not at all fair on managers who picked their squads assuming there were 3 mountain stages in this race, and only 1 hill stage.

Must admit I didn't even know how to check the mountain/hill ratio for stages.
It means I will replay and rewrite the race. I've limited time due to work from Saturday, but I'll try to play and write as much as possible before that and hopefully be able to give you the reports quickly. Though, stage 9 is unlikely to be posted on Sunday, as I earlier wrote.

And stage 1 is posted. The new profile of stage 2 looks like this:

The stage has a mountain/hill ratio of 0.95.

So, same stuff. As long as the same stuff happens in stage 2. |

Good God. Cattaneo attacking, and not being 15 minutes down in a grupetto. What is the game coming to!? |

Wow, simply HTC-Colombia = Pokerstars in this game.

What a shocking sprint by Van Heerden, he is carrying on that annoying Giro display on here.
Perhaps the manager and the team need to put up their hands also with the lack of a train to fight Pokerstars. Can only hope he improves in other sprint stages.
Congrats Pokerstars though, no doubt they have very strong sprint train everywhere they go.

Matthias Frank carries his insane Tour de Suisse form over from real life.
A good solid 2nd for Andy, a nice 12 second time bonus to make up for small losses in the opening prologue.

This was probably the safest race i could find with only 1 hilly stage, yet Intxausti still loses time. When looking at past results, he didn't seem to struggle this much in the past, but i guess it depends on the PCM version.

And now I've caught up with this race as well.
First of all, great to see Favilli taking the KoM jersey. Looking forward to having him in my team when fully developed.
The overall looks interesting as well. Pluchkin and Amador have placed themselves well for the remainder of the race, but I should think that Andy will drop both when we get to the last two stages.
Also impressed by Brajkovic. He was excellent in California, and seems to be on his way to another top result here.

Monfort keeps up but the last two stages will be too hard for him to hang on.
I thought sending him here would be good for a good showing in the early stages and he showed to some degree.

Wow Intxausti really sucks this year. I cannot recall exactly how SN used him last year I know he did Oman and Vuelta and did okay in those two races. I think perhaps the evolution of other has pushed him further down the tree.
Hagen is doing a really good job for you ember, I think it s a bit fortunate with him not being dropped on stage two. Then again don't think Schleck or Trofimov solid have been dropped either there so why not another cross over hills mountain rider?
Right Van Heerden time for you to pull your finger out in next couple of days!

Definitely! Though, this was kind of what I hoped for doing the race planning, as I saw stage 2 as a pretty short mountain, thinking Boasson Hagen would have a chance to hold on. It was a pleasant surprise to see him do that on the new stage as well, especially when he was dropped early on the climb with a couple of other climbers, who was far better than him. Then I thought it was game over, before he somehow came back and joined again just before Schleck launched his attack.
For stage 5, I also had hopes pre-race that Boasson Hagen would fight for a couple of podiums on the flat stages. I certainly didn't expect a stage win, but seeing Pluchkin in second it would still be somewhat disappointing if Boasson Hagen didn't beat the Moldovan in a flat sprint
Stage 6 will be with you early this afternoon, before stage 7 hopefully will be posted this evening, meaning we're back on track to finish this race by Sunday evening |

Wha? Van Heerden again completely crap.... Guess it was too hilly at the end there. Annoyed he was right there and again went backwards. Back to the drawing board!
Clearly though that was a tough stage with all these GC guys going for the sprint.

Way to go, Meersman. 4 guys in the breakaway, and you still manage to not get a single KoM point
