Pfan is sorry :|
Miguel98
Well, try to do something like this: one leader on each race, then domestiques to fill spaces.

Team Presentation is up, it's not terribly fancy though Pfft

4 Race Planners still to come - there's still a couple of hours to ensure your preferred team at the Down Under Classic!

Oh yeah, and I hope I didn't get any manager's nationality wrong Embarassed

The fact that you put Marcoux as Eurosport leader intrigues me, as his rating is the same as Bouhanni's, but Bouhanni is French.

Also i am not British i am from Brunei... Pfft

@emre
Don't worry - people who hand in their planners late won't get any advantage, since I won't post profiles until a race begins. Also, when their team is auto-selected, I'll just chose a suitable leader and fill the rest of the team up with 1/2* domestiques.

@Manx
I'll change it to Bouhanni, since its your team after all, and they're basically co-leaders anyway! And too bad, there's no Brunei flag tag Pfft

@jaxika
Added that in Smile

@jesley
Thanks, will add that!

RACE PREVIEW

DOWN UNDER CLASSIC

Pre-Race Favourites:
Well, the start of the season is finally upon us, and the race organisers are very pleased that a strong peloton has made the way down under to kick-off the inaugural Pfan Cup.

It's surely a day for the sprinters, so look out for the power of Alexander Kristoff, and the ever-resplendent Bernardo Mateo of Ferrari.

Otherwise, perhaps it's a day for golden-oldie Mark Cavendish! In what will be the 35-year old's final season before retirement, he will be looking to make the most of every opportunity before his time is up.

Unfortunately, the Australians no longer pack a top-class sprinter, but veteran Matthew Goss has been given the nod for BBC ahead of primary sprinter Ben Swift, and will aim for a top 10 perhaps.

RACE REPORT

DOWN UNDER CLASSIC

lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Ud3fqexU3nU/UcITiOI0NVI/AAAAAAAAEEk/9iAIdeuWrSg/s400/van-g_martel_porte.png
Tejay Vangarden (Unicef) wastes no time in making the Pfan Cup's first attack with just 2km raced! He is joined by Pons Martel (Sporza) and Richie Porte (Commerzbank), and with 40km to go, they still hold a solid lead of 4'10"...

lh4.googleusercontent.com/-nFnNm4wzP8Y/UcITfbG8HrI/AAAAAAAAED4/cCMDac4O474/s400/leclair_munniik_maximov_rensberg_delacruz.jpg
But, the peloton soon gets moving and starts to whittle down the lead quickly. With 30km to go, and the breakaway about to be caught, some more attacks come, lead by Nikolas Maes (Ridley), as well as Dominik Fischer (Sodexo), David Schwazacher (Caixa), Osvaldo De La Cruz (Logitech) and Matty Muuniik (Eneco).

lh6.googleusercontent.com/-p-n8PKZVaDY/UcITd1ZYb_I/AAAAAAAAEDw/Bpu68Iz0ebY/s400/alka.jpg
Behind, the Alka team are clearly not happy, and really start to lay the hammer down in the bunch, protecting Alexander Kristoff's chances in a sprint.

lh5.googleusercontent.com/-cllpb7sQUxI/UcITfg3cPFI/AAAAAAAAED8/8tH3ZpaPl-o/s400/marcoux.jpg
But that doesn't stop one of the stronger roleurs in the bunch, Florien Marcoux (Eurosport), launching a move with 25km to go. Interesting, as you would have suspected that Nacer Bouhanni would benefit from his aid in a sprint finish.

lh6.googleusercontent.com/-2Prqb06l_Es/UcITgAGL-jI/AAAAAAAAEEQ/KWD1Sfbte24/s400/marcoux2.jpg
Marcoux soon makes his way to the forefront of the escapees, and quickly disposes of Osvaldo De La Cruz at the front of the race.

lh4.googleusercontent.com/-QqV1_emJJJc/UcITgWdQO6I/AAAAAAAAEEM/wM45RUzdh4s/s800/marcoux3.jpg
Marcoux races onwards and holds a lead of around 1'30" with 10km remaining. It looks like the Belgian cobblestones-specialist may have a chance of spoiling the sprinter's show here!

lh3.googleusercontent.com/-uoKaq-LuPo8/UcITeiaqffI/AAAAAAAAEDc/oMLwOFA7Pks/s800/crash.jpg
As the peloton hits 10km, a mass crash wipes out many of the top sprinters and destroys any hopes of the peloton regaining control. Not a good day in the saddle for the sprint teams after all.

lh3.googleusercontent.com/-tRxZrak3qqg/UcIThsBir7I/AAAAAAAAEEg/xlXEC16b-V8/s400/thomas.jpg
Realising that a sprint victory has been written off the agenda, Geraint Thomas (BBC), and even sprinter Jose Joaquin Rojas (Santander) make a desperate late move.

lh3.googleusercontent.com/-E8iQm1bsCvk/UcITfDEoncI/AAAAAAAAED0/Y9FjKnAVzz0/s400/finish.jpg
But Marcoux defies the odds to win in Adelaide for Eurosport! They threw their whole 8-man roster at this race, and their commitment paid off, maybe just not quite the way they planned it!

lh4.googleusercontent.com/-lKGn-t2OciQ/UcITd9dCeSI/AAAAAAAAEDY/XyF6FeLcmrg/s400/2nd.jpg
Jose Joaquin Rojas' canny late move restores some dignity for the sprinters and his Santander team as he crosses the line ahead of a rather dismayed and battered peloton.

lh4.googleusercontent.com/-h20AK_plnTg/UcITd4Q-6AI/AAAAAAAAEDk/IvsM_8oGx14/s400/3rd.jpg
Geraint Thomas (BBC) couldn't keep up with Rojas, but just about held off the oncoming sprint for a spot on the podium.

Export button failed, but will hopefully be fixed for the next race.

I think Marcoux overheard you talking up Nacer Bouhanni as team leader in the press, and set out to prove a point today! :lol:

A great exciting race there.

Not a good result for Gazprom, but that's all right. If there is one race the team weren't targeting it was the Down Under Classic. The team will be stronger for the bigger races.

Any races today? Wink

Probably not today. I got my school "prom" in a few hours. I might do a short preview for the Tour of Luxembourg at best.

@emre99
In spite of what his name may suggest, Le Montagner is actually a big burly sprinter :lol:
