Gustavo, Puncher? Cobbler fits better.
I'll call them whatever they want as long as they don't try to make this race interesting

Really a make or break race for us. Lo Cicero will need to step up, even though his lack of support.
If Napolitano continues his form, he will be hard to stop in the GC. Fingers crossed for an surprising Armavia-win! |

Perfect leadout, and then Napolitano doesn't sprint. Excuse me while I rage. |

Not ideal for me that Haussler beats Vantomme.
But I think I can be happy to gain time on Napolitano, Roelandts and Cavendish today. So it`s not a bad stage for us.
I am a bit worried about my sprint train. I was surprised to have 3 riders ahead with 4km to go, but sometimes I think taking Napolitano`s wheel on a stronger train would be better.
On the other hand having no train can play out very bad. |

They were trying at least, Hoffman was just watching the show, without intention to join it.
Nice report Ember!
Congrats to SRAM.

Hoffman is as strong as Drapac who went in the break, if you just consider SP. That may be why he's not up at the sharp end, and he may attack instead. And he will probably win |

But sprint is considered only in actual sprinting right? His strong flat could earn him a better place at the end of trains. My hopes are pointed to third stage, which is over 200kms, he need to try something there.
But yeah, this competition is too much for Hoffman probably...

One for Haussler, now a GC-podium is possible.

Typically that this was the only stage in Eneco Tour that Napolitano "failed", the ONE stage this season that Lo Cicero did everything right, and managed to get Napolitanos wheel. Well, I'm happy with 3rd, the importance of the bonus seconds are really vital here.
Congratulations to Haussler and Sram, strong and slightly surprising victory, and nice report Ember!

Nice report indeed. Guess we can expect some more ember-reports this month
Funny to see Drapac in the break, but kinda good to know there's been made a decision between him and - once again failing - Rasmussen as the leading sprinter. Anyway, need a huge improvement to score at least some minor points. Guess Evian is already ahead of us in the rankings, relegation, baby

So close but taking more bonus seconds is nice!
And having the leader jersey might help Vantomme to perform on a good level.
Stupid right corner there. It probably hurt my sprint train, who had to go a longer way, but at least good to see that my train works pretty well and can match the Evian train.
If I can keep a podium here I will be very happy. And eventually taking a stage win would make it even better. |

Really tense and dramatic sprint, brilliant reported ember!
Actually great positioning by Lo Cicero once again, we are really satisfied with his consistant performance in the Benelux; the fact that he is leading the U25 and still are in the contest for victory of sprint jersey and GC is extremely important for our (lack of) point haul this season.
But just like Rothaus we would be happy with a GC podium, everything else would be a nice bonus. |

Kankovsky 4th in which is a strong sprinter line up, in a higher level of racing too I am happy with that, maybe we can get a top 3 place but I think it is asking too much

You mean Haussler, Vantomme and Lo Cicero?
Bad positining from Haussler, but still everything's possible.

Congrats jph nice victory. Avelino may be too fatigued after last month, he could have been better there. I really hope he can take a bite at the top10 here, otherwise this will become a very dull month for us.

Yeah ember is back with a bang producing entertaining reports for this sprint fest.
It is all about positioning here - great to see Evian's Red Bull alumni fuelled sprint train going well. Like that this team is making a bit of a comeback this month.

Thanks for the nice words about the race reports. Must admit it was nice to finally have time and being able to play and write them again
Hope you'll enjoy the final two stages as well, they'll both be posted tomorrow.
